You don’t have to since it is a nano drone and for personal usage. Don’t put nano drones in checked luggage as they will get spoilt. Hand carry it with batteries separately packed. Singapore airlines allow you to hand carry
I checked with Singapore Airlines scoot for flight between Chennai and Bangkok. They said no issues to carry dji mini series along with me in hand bag. For bigger drones I should put it in checkin bag.
Checkin bag shouldn't have the battery inthough I think. Check the list of banned items for checking in : includes as expected, flammable liquids, gas canisters etc but I think also batteries such as drone batteries. Presumably the empty drone was in the hold?
Haven't watched the video yet only the comments. I've taken my sub 250g camera drone to Austria by air from UK with no issues: I carried inside the cabin one battery inside the drone plus one carried. My wife carried 3 spare batteries. as there was a maximum limit imposed by the airlines for batteries per person. I think it's the battery fire hazard that is uppermost in the airlines' eyes. You definitely don't want a battery fire (either inside a drone or not) in the hold as checked-in luggage. At least inside the plane staff can use and extinguisher or drop it in a bucket of water. But as for permit to fly, you need to check CAA licence requirements carefully for your destination or you maybe flying without any personal liability insurance (you may be breaking the law and not be covered by insurance). Norway makes it so problematical to fly a drone I wouldn't bother even bringing mine there from UK. Now I'll watch the video 🙂
CAA Civil Aviation Authority website for your country to register your drone. Then stick the number onto your drone. In Uk we renew (£10) annually. You are also encouraged to get a non-mandatory drone licence (free) after passing an (easy) online test. Registering your drone though is the important part. If it's not purely a typical toyshop item you need a number stuck on it.

In UK at least you need to have a video drone registered and can make videos. But if you are being paid it gets more complicated and greater insurance is required.
