I SHOULVE WATCHED THIS BEFORE BUYING FABRIC UGHH I BOUGHT THREE YARDS OF 44 INCH WIDTH FABRIC WHICH ISNT NEARLY ENOUGH TO MAKE A FULL SIZED CLOAK AND NOW IM STRESSED ON A TIME CRUNCH LMAOO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO; IT REALLY CLARIFIED A LOT OF THINGS THAT I WOULVE MISSED 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Final follow up! This gave me everything I needed to make my own cape in just a few days. It turned out great! Thanks for breaking it down so well. I definitely feel like I can take on more sewing projects now :)
Hi, I know this videos old, but I'm putting one together now for Halloween and noticed at 4:02, you said put the circles together WRONG sides together. Did you mean right sides together? I followed your instructions and put wrong sides together, but I think it's wrong, I don't want to sew until I'm certain, my brain got fried haha 😂
You're right. It's supposed to be right sides together the first time you sew the circles together, then flip them rights side out to baste the wrong sides together before continuing on.
@@TheUncannyDollThanks! Also, I don't sew often, but this projects been fun and for someone who hates math, I greatly appreciate you figuring it all out for us!!! 😁
Hey I have a question. I want to make this cape but have only been able to find red and blue fabrics that have a width of 44". How many yards of fabric do you think I'd have to buy in order to make this? It's my first project so I'm a bit confused.
Good question! It depends on how long you want the cape to be. The cape would be rather short if you were to fold the fabric and cut it in a circle. If you want it to be closer to 44", you'd need about 5 yards in total to cut 2 half circles then sew them together, like how I did for the red lining. (44x4=176" or 4.88 yards.) I hope this helps!
