- Pakistan is country where Islam is the state religion. Desecration of the Quran is an offence that carries a life sentence. The blasphemy laws in force in Pakistan are often misused to target Christians. In 2012, Rimsha, a fourteen-year-old girl, was accused of burning a page of the Quran. Her arrest provoked protests worldwide. It turned out to be a false accusation, and Rimsha was released. She and her parents fled to Canada. Around 800 other Christians who lived in the same neighbourhood as Rimsha were threatened by militant Muslims and had to flee for their lives as well. Where are these people now, and how are they coping? VOM Canada partner SDOK went to Pakistan to find out.

I hope and pray that the decieved catholic anti Christ doctrine is also done away with. Those poor boys....I hope that priest is not like many others....also notice they still say it is the virgin mary who helps or saves them in troubles. I know it is not the virgin Mary at all. The thing is Christians in other countries do not really care enough or brave enough to protest Pakistani embassy to put pressure on the Pakistani government or at least talk to their representative at their own government.
I can tell you as a Canadian who immigrated form Pakistan that this is fucking ridiculous. The extremists have a paralyzingly grip on the society and there is absolutely zero intervention from the government to support these people. Without a separation of religion and state and a crack down on extremists, nothing will change. It’s shameful and wrong. I am disgusted and ashamed of this. It breaks my heart how these girls are still thankful for the sun and sky and we complain about everything in the west.
