Also, Long not long before this left his social security on the scene of a totally different ra pe. The only reason he was not charged was because they victim could not ID who her attacker was.

How can those who robbed Mr. Long of all these years, rest at night. If they are still alive, they should certainly have mental problems due to excessive guilt. 44 years, his parents, 2 sisters and very little time to spend w/his brother once discharged, before he passed. As Mr. Long stated, we still have this type of evil going on today. People should just be ashamed of themselves. Just terrible. Bless you Mr. Long. This breaks my heart, but glad you are finally free.

Compensating this man at LEAST $1 million per each of the 44 years that he was in prison would be a start to helping this man, try to live the rest of days in peace. Although, no amount of money can give him his life back and all the pain and agony that he went through, but it will make the rest of the days that God will allow him to be here better, that he will not want for anything. All those cops, judges and everyone involved with tampering and hiding evidence of his innocense should go to prison for LIFE! They took this man's life away and now that he's been set free for crimes that he DID NOT do, they should be in prison for the REST of their lives for crimes that they DID commit. Had the laws not changed as he said for the death penalty, he wouldn't be here. It's so wrong on ALL levels what these people did to this man. If they don't pay for it on this side, they will pay for it on judgement day. Many blessings and healing for Mr. Long and I hope and pray that he can find some kind of peace and happiness to live out the rest of his days. 🙏💯❤

Also my condolences for losing your parents, and two sisters before being released, and your brother shortly after being released. While we know that our criminal justice system isn't fair to poor people of color who lack the resources to hire an adequate defense is at the mercy of the court. Which we know the court has no mercy for poor black, Hispanic, white people. Mr. Long it should be your mission to tell the world what happened to you. God bless you, go in peace.

What about the memories he didn't get to make with his family. His life was taken away from him. There's no making up for the atrocities he either experienced or witnessed while in prison for over 40 years. People like the interviewer are the same ones that believe slavery wasn't that bad.

There was a young Hispanic Kid who was put to death for raping and killing a Nun in Amarillo Texas back in the 1980's. After they killed him another prisoner several years later said he was the one who did it and he knew facts about the case that only the detectives knew. But they needed a scape goat to sacrifice because it was an election year and back then the P.D., Medical Examiner and DA all were buddies.... In my opinion, there's a special place in hell for folks like that. Every time I think back on that case I flash to Lee Harvey Oswald, the best-known patsy America has ever had.

What does an entry-level North Carolina prison guard earn, and what is the TOTAL PAYOUT w/salary raises and retirement after 44 YEARS OTJ?
Pay that times THREE for him, mom, & dad.
    Sure, $$$$ is ez.
Imagine if the exonerated had entitlement to incarcerate innocent relatives of the judge, jury, and prosecution?
Or if death applied, the victim's survivors able to do same to CURRENT judge and prosecution team of jurisdiction, no matter how much turnover occurs?
    Sounds barbaric, right?

The full information is that he got 750k for 15 years only because that's the law. They only give up to 15 years for 'wrongful ' conviction. The 25M is seperate and apart from that. He got the 25M from a civil suit. What he is talking about is the remaining 29 years of 50k per year that the state owes him and why the law sould change and not cap it at 15 years at 50k which they did and still is the law. Hopefully this gives some clarity. They edited out the details but that's in the full article and he's right because he wasn't wrongfully convicted.
