The build up to Day[9] playing his Sinister Sabotage was perfect. The show started playing this epic, ominous music as Joe played his legendary creature and began reading the card text...and then it transitions to this goofy circus music as Day[9] just nopes him with a blue counterspell. Hilarious.

He also played D&D with Matt Mercer for Critical Role and created the legendary character Arkhan the Cruel who stole the hand of Vekna and betrayed his friends to become a lord in Avernus alongside that queen dragoness whatever her name was. And this story became canon thanks to WOTC. He transformed his basement into a D&D nerdy play room with a LOONG - ass table and plenty of chairs and decorations.
Also, he is married with Sofia Vergara who.. you know is pretty damn hot

It is so damn nice to see someone on who actually knows how to play the damn game. It does get a bit tedious having Sean have to explain mechanics to a lot of the people. Now, I love introducing new people to the game, so I get that, but it's refreshing to have someone who know what they are doing and doesn't need coaching.
The episode with Chris Kluwe is hardcore one of my favorites for exactly that reason. It's so so good
If you like commander or multiplayer, you should also watch Game Knights.
The one with Grant Imahara was great. Grant played his own deck.

I just watched it for the first time. I imagine it was baller if watched when it came out, or if watched through a kid's eyes. Now though, it was rather silly. The reference is legit though.

Can there be more guests like Joe? Not exactly the same, obviously, but ones who have played the game for more than a few days before filming. I love seeing the newbie guests but the entertainment that comes with people that really know the game is palpable

Joe has always been cool. Not surprised he fit right into this. He's one of the genuine ones in the "celebrity" circles. Hollywood has not changed him too much. This was a great episode. My favorite this season, for sure.

Holy shit, the counter spell moment was so good. It was such a Sean kinda thing to do, capped off by singing "I Can Go The Distance" from the 1997 animated Hercules movie.

This is the best episode of spell slingers. They had so much chemistry and god do I hate that feeling of messing up sequencing and it biting you in the butt.

@@UnorganizedWaffle I think both Melissa and Ben on at the same time was too low energy. They needed another higher energy player to lift the vibe. The show hasn't been as good while Jimmy has been away imo.
CJ the biggest issue I took from it was the fact that they made pros play goddamn precons.

This was probably one of the best episodes of the show (even though that misplay with Shaun's lands physically hurt me). The commentary and banter made the episode so interesting to watch.
An Excellent game, very entertaining and back and forth even with misplays... but god, putting two compatible nerds in the same room together and seeing them riff off eachother is just always entertaining as hell, Passion for things makes life worth living after all *nod nod*
