Thanks Murder, yes I am a bit inexpressive when I record covers, mainly the first ones. I think it has to do with being focused to avoid mistakes as much as possible. I still enjoy playing, but I know that I don't reflect it as much in the covers. I've been keeping that in mind for a while now. In my band and playing live I'm usually more expressive.
