Perez is one of the best on the field to help develop a car, and this season will define if he can aim for another top tesm or s mid field, so its all up to him, (also Ford is giving checo special care lately so this will be important for a rsre but possibly stay at rbr) but if he ñeft the team, you need to see how rbr and even max grew up and learned from Pérez, any team would learn from him also he carries about 60% of sponsors of rbr with him as carlos slim owns or have important shares of wallmart, claro, american mobile, hard rock, etc etc, I could totally see Checo going to another team, even ferrari director have recently good spoke on checo, if he doesn get a good team he will move to Indy but unlike these brits he will not go to a backfield car.. I think Dennis Hauger is missing from your list. He is an amazing driver and I think he will finnish 1st or 2nd in the F2 championship this season. My prediction is him in F1 (AlphaTauri) in 2024 or 2025
As of the end of 2024, I can say that these predictions missed quite a bit. Aston, Ferrari, Williams, Haas, and McLaren are fully locked out. Mercedes, Alpine, Redbull, RB and Audi have atleast 1 driver locked in, with the 2nd driver for 2026 being somewhat 50/50 rn. So the only predictions that either could or definitely will happen are: 1# Max and Yuki in Red Bull (Matt) - Possible, mutually exclussive with number 3 2# Stroll and Alonso in Aston (Matt) - Confirmed 3# Yuki and Iwasa in RB (Tommy) - Possible, mutually exclussive with number 1
Honestly, this is the lineup I'd be most excited to see, but I can't imagine Horner allowing Max to have such a strong teammate. I think Lando will steal too many points from Max, and the golden boy won't be happy.
I don't think many of the drivers in F1 currently will be driving in 2026. Verstappen, Russell, Norris, Leclerc will be around for sure but the rest I'm not so sure. The driver market is in a real awkward place with experienced drivers coming back, "academy" drivers and pay drivers that the driver pool feels stagnant. I hope to see a lot more fresh faces comes 2026.
Exactly, he’s the current F2 champ, hopefully it’s not that hard to imagine him getting a seat I do wonder if that could happen with Aston Martin, since Lance basically has a seat until he retires, and we don’t know how much Alonso still has left in him, could be a lot So maybe in another team… didn’t want him to get a shit car tho haha I just want F1 to have brazilians racing again, damn it

He hasn’t been consistent enough the last couple of years, but now he’s back with Prema, I think he’ll be a real championship contender this year in F2 🤍 and also, he’s just an incredibly nice and funny guy, which is also needed in the media circus that is F1

@@brodypettersen7744 I don't see how Liam deserves it more than Fred. But whatever, they are not competing for the same seat anyway.
@@cecilie4296 I get we both have our opinions but look at how competitive Liam Lawson has been in f3 Him and piastri championship fight, f2 he has a lot of bad luck, dtm shunted of top stop him from winning the championship having a f1 driver as he’s team who was no where near the front, he’s currently p2 in super formula which is meaning he’s an extremely adaptable driver, which means you know he’s gonna adapt to f1 way quicker then anyone else
O'Ward is far more likely than Herta imo.. Or Palou. I don't see McLaren going outside of the McLaren family for an IndyCar driver, it would probably be hard to justify to their drivers and I also don't see Herta getting the Super License points at this rate [admittedly, it is only two races in to this season]
First impressions are a lot and apparently Hertas first impressions from the Mclaren test was very good. He apparently prepared well for the test. While the SL points held him back this year I'm sure he will be sniffed at again in the next couple of season because word spreads but also his nationality. I could be wrong but the only team F1 whoi would be willing to take a chance on Pato is Mclaren.
My wild predictions: Red Bull - Verstappen, Ricciardo Mercedes - Russell, Albon Ferrari - Leclerc, Gasly Aston Martin - Stroll, Hamilton Alpine - Ocon, Zhou Audi (Alfa Romeo) - Sainz, Pourchaire McLaren - Norris, Piastri Alpha Tauri (Super Aguri?) - Tsunoda, Iwasa Haas - Shwartzman, Bearman Williams - Drugovich, Martins Too many good names to get them all on the grid.
I think there's a few things missing here: Bottas is the same age as Perez, and Perez joined F1 earlier. I don't see Bottas going before Checo, and likely they'll both go together. Liam Lawson is a crucial young driver being missed right now. No shot of Tsunoda going to the main team before Liam.
This is fun, here are my predictions based on the very little I know of what could happen so far in time: Andretti-Cadillac: Colton Herta, Logan Sargeant Williams-Mercedes: Pierre Gasly, Frederik Vesti Honda: Yuki Tsunoda, Ayumu Iwasa Audi-Sauber: Sergio "Checo" Pérez, Mick Schumacher Haas-Ferrari: Felipe Drugovic, Esteban Ocon Lotus-Renault: Victor Martins, Théo Pourchaire (Gabriele Mini) McLaren-Porsche: Oscar Piastri, Alex Palou (Patricio "Pato" O'Ward) Ferrari: Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris Mercedes: George Russell, Charles Leclerc Aston Martin-Honda: Fernando Alonso, Pepe Marti (Gabriel Bortoleto) Red Bull-Ford: Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo
i think there are 2 teams you need to add 1 driver t Jack Doohan will act as the squad's reserve driver during the upcoming F1 season, could see a honda team with Doohan
I think zhou has high chance to stay at sauber (audi) for 2 reasons. 1. His relationship and ease to work with the team, the team would want a experienced driver with the team if Audi want to achieve their goal to world champ, then filling with another top tier driver like Lando would be perfect 2. Audi has reasonably large market sales in China, im not from China but based on what I know on their side, their F1 community is growing and it would be a great chance for Audi
Audi has had good sales in China, but with the transition to BEVs their sales are dwindling. I can really see Audi using this unique opportunity to boost their BEV sales in China. They don't need Mick for marketing in Germany. We Germans will always buy our Mercs, BMWs and Audis and since F1 isn't available here in free TV anymore, its marketing potential is slim anyways.
A 2026 prediction is almost impossible to predict because a lot can happen in almost 3 full seasons. What I would say is I think Liam Lawson is promoted to Alpha Tauri alongside Yuki for 2024. Iwasa is doing great right now but let's see how his season unfolds.. I think he will either do another season in F2 or maybe a season of Super Formula like Lawson is currently doing. Helmut has mentioned that they need Alpha Tauri as another team to test their engines.. So I don't see them selling to Honda. I do however see a Honda partnership with Aston Martin as a possibility and another team like Williams?
When you hear Steiner talking I highly doubt that HAAS will ever go for a Rookie again. They learned it the hard way with Mick & Mazespin and are no longer dependent on pay drivers or giving young drivers their debut before moving to a bigger team. They just want consistent point scorers.
I have tweeted this list because there was a tweet asking to predict the 2026 grid. Red Bull : Verstappen, Tsunoda Mercedes : Russell, Schumacher Ferrari : Schwartzman, C. I agree. I think they rushed Yuki into F1 as a favour to Honda but they are taking their time with Liam and he is following a similar path to Pierre Gasly who also drove in Super Formula before making his debut in F1. So unless de Vries has some epic turn around in his form... My prediction would be Yuki and Liam in Alpha Tauri for 2024.

@@areebsiddiqui758 I wish he didn’t retire man, but he has stated multiple times he would like to be a business man and retire early- ish

They put checo on what they think was Going to be the slowest team 🤣🤣🤣
Daniel Ricci and Mick for Audi, the redemption team.
I support this idea.
Mick and Seb for me. Schumi came back with a German team after 4 years, Seb is bound to get bored too. That way Porsche will have an all German line up with a 4 time champion and a Schumacher.
Would love this idea
watching this in december 2024, and its absolutely hilarious
we got lewis to ferrari
carlos to Williams
nico hulk to sauber
ocon to haas
and
zhou, VB, Kmag, checo, danny ric, colapinto out
💀💀💀💀💀
Watching this after the 2024 season is actually so wild
Would love to see an episode where you guys review this again. 😂
Thanks for changing the background during the ad, so I know when to skip to. Really appreciate when channels do that
coming here now after about a year and I can't help but laugh at how wrong it all has gotten already 😭
So the only predictions that either could or definitely will happen are:
1# Max and Yuki in Red Bull (Matt) - Possible, mutually exclussive with number 3
2# Stroll and Alonso in Aston (Matt) - Confirmed
3# Yuki and Iwasa in RB (Tommy) - Possible, mutually exclussive with number 1
Lando and Max would be a dope lineup for RBR, i can see that happening
Honestly, this is the lineup I'd be most excited to see, but I can't imagine Horner allowing Max to have such a strong teammate. I think Lando will steal too many points from Max, and the golden boy won't be happy.
Vesti and Colapinto at Williams would be incredible for me personally
There'd better be a follow-up video to this in 2 1/2 years' time to see how it compares!
Much better if they did the video next year.. Lets all find out ( includind them ) if they think after a year all the same things......
My predictions:
Williams: Albon, Antonelli
Alpha Tauri: Yuki, Iwasa
Audi: Sainz, Hulkenberg
Haas: Magnussen, Bortoleto
Alpine: Pourchaire, Perez
Mclaren: Norris, Palou
Aston Martin: Stroll, Vesti
Ferrari: Leclerc, Hamilton
Mercedes: Russell, Hauger
Red Bull: Verstappen, Piastri
You guys should react to this video 😂
Ollie Bearman has to be there surely😮 I'm so surprised he hasn't been mentioned!!!
Not having Drugovich in there makes it sound completely bonkers.
Exactly, he’s the current F2 champ, hopefully it’s not that hard to imagine him getting a seat
I do wonder if that could happen with Aston Martin, since Lance basically has a seat until he retires, and we don’t know how much Alonso still has left in him, could be a lot
So maybe in another team… didn’t want him to get a shit car tho haha
I just want F1 to have brazilians racing again, damn it
Would love to see yuki in a redbull hes done great year to year that hes been on the grid and has really shown how hes grown as a driver through the years
There's no way he'll end up in the Red Bull
This aged like milk
@P1 with Matt & Tommy Any chance you could revisit this topic now that the season has shaken itself out ?? This one hasn't aged very well really.
I think Zane Maloney would be in F1 in 2026, either Williams or AlphaTauri/Honda
Thank you finally someone with knowledge
There will be no AT/Honda, only AT/RBPT-Ford.
Been catching up on the F2 races during this gap in the calendar and his Bahrain drive in the feature race was insane.
@@EntropicExergy I was referring to how Tom said that he thinks in 2026 there could be a Honda works team after taking over AlphaTauri, hence the slash since it means either AlphaTauri team or a Honda team
@@MaxPower417 hoping he wins some races soon 🙌
The thumbnail seems so sacriligeous
GASLY IN RED AND CHARLES IN SILVER😳😳
I was so confused till I decided to check the year it was posted
Tommy had Colton Herta at Mclaren and said the reasoning is Zach brown will want someone for publicity but zach has pato on his team that's even more popular and has beat colton when they were teammates and currently leads in their series. But it wouldn't surprise me if both have a shot.
I only just realised this was an old video and was like boys are you on crack half these drivers have secured seats or ties with top half teams hahaha 🤣
As long as Frederik Vesti is somewhere on the grid I'll be happy, he truly deserves to be there
Sorry but what Vesti won to get a F1 seat? FREC against Enzo Fitippaldi??
@@NerdChannelBrasil I’m sorry, but you don’t have to win everything to get up to F1. E.g. Albon is obviously an amazing F1 driver, but he hasn’t won anything since his kartning days. Vesti has the talent, otherwise Mercedes wouldn’t have chosen him for their junior programme. He hasn’t been consistent enough the last couple of years, but now he’s back with Prema, I think he’ll be a real championship contender this year in F2 🤍 and also, he’s just an incredibly nice and funny guy, which is also needed in the media circus that is F1
liam lawson derserves it 100000 times more , easily the most adabtible driver in motorsport right now, hes extremely competitive in every racing series hes been in
@@brodypettersen7744 I don't see how Liam deserves it more than Fred. You're entitled to your opinion, but Fred is the championship leader in F2 in his second season, and Liam ended P3 in his second season, so I wouldn't say Liam deserves it 100000 times more, I would say they equally deserve it.
I want at least one new team on the grid for the 2026 season.
Editing fail at 7:12 - on Tommy's Haas selections, it says Bortoleto, when he said (after three attempts 😆) Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Palou is more F1 Ready than O'Ward imo, Palou is literally joining Arrow McLaren for 2024 I believe so I think Palou is more likely
My wild predictions:
Red Bull - Verstappen, Ricciardo
Mercedes - Russell, Albon
Ferrari - Leclerc, Gasly
Aston Martin - Stroll, Hamilton
Alpine - Ocon, Zhou
Audi (Alfa Romeo) - Sainz, Pourchaire
McLaren - Norris, Piastri
Alpha Tauri (Super Aguri?) - Tsunoda, Iwasa
Haas - Shwartzman, Bearman
Williams - Drugovich, Martins
Too many good names to get them all on the grid.
I think there's a few things missing here:
Bottas is the same age as Perez, and Perez joined F1 earlier. I don't see Bottas going before Checo, and likely they'll both go together.
Liam Lawson is a crucial young driver being missed right now. No shot of Tsunoda going to the main team before Liam.
Gasly and Albon, I like it a lot
This is fun, here are my predictions based on the very little I know of what could happen so far in time:
Andretti-Cadillac: Colton Herta, Logan Sargeant
Williams-Mercedes: Pierre Gasly, Frederik Vesti
Honda: Yuki Tsunoda, Ayumu Iwasa
Audi-Sauber: Sergio "Checo" Pérez, Mick Schumacher
Haas-Ferrari: Felipe Drugovic, Esteban Ocon
Lotus-Renault: Victor Martins, Théo Pourchaire (Gabriele Mini)
McLaren-Porsche: Oscar Piastri, Alex Palou (Patricio "Pato" O'Ward)
Ferrari: Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris
Mercedes: George Russell, Charles Leclerc
Aston Martin-Honda: Fernando Alonso, Pepe Marti (Gabriel Bortoleto)
Red Bull-Ford: Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo
You have to be naive if you think that Lewis will retire ahead of Alonso.
Coming back to this video on Feb '24 is astonishingly surreal.
When it is a slow F1 news day:
Didn't realize this was 3 months old when YT recommended it, wild how things have changed this season already by the summer break.
Bunch of legends for putting Vesti, the danish fans will love that
lando in a red bull would be a dream cone true for me
@F1gilles Lando is better than your favorite driver, unless said favorite driver is Max
@F1gilles better than Leclerc and Russell most definitely, Ham is mid and Alonso is goated
i think there are 2 teams you need to add
1 driver t Jack Doohan will act as the squad's reserve driver during the upcoming F1 season, could see a honda team with Doohan
Would love to see a revised list with Drugovich, and Lawson taken into consideration and also with the possibility of the new Andretti team
I agree with the Yuki prediction. He's been very impressive as of late
14:15 So it's team Pitstop Boys?
I think zhou has high chance to stay at sauber (audi) for 2 reasons.
1. His relationship and ease to work with the team, the team would want a experienced driver with the team if Audi want to achieve their goal to world champ, then filling with another top tier driver like Lando would be perfect
I started watching F1 when Fernando started his career and I will stop watching F1 when he retires. What a ride it has been so far!
2026 Driver Lineup:
Red Bull: Verstappen / Lawson
Aston Martin: Stroll / Norris
Mercedes: Russell / Ocon
Ferrari: A. Leclerc / Bearman
Alpine: C. Leclerc / Doohan
McLaren: Piastri / Crawford
Haas: Magnussen / Hauger
Audi: Sainz / Pourchaire
Alpha Tauri: Iwasa / Tsunoda
Williams: Albon / Vesti
11th Team: Gasly / Zhou
Tf is this garbage?
Ayo can't wait for the review of this
I really liked this video. It's so cool to think about these things. Leclerc and Russell at Merc will be scenes. The next Lewis and Nico?
The next Lewis & Fernando
I love how out of everything, they got the Russell-Verstappen flare up. Albeit a year earlier and under different circumstances lol
I have tweeted this list because there was a tweet asking to predict the 2026 grid.
Red Bull : Verstappen, Tsunoda
Mercedes : Russell, Schumacher
Ferrari : Schwartzman, C. Leclerc
McLaren : Norris, Piastri
Alpine : Ocon, Pourchaire
Aston Martin : Stroll, Gasly
AlphaTauri : Hauger, DeVreis
Audi : Zhou, Nissany
Haas : Magnussen, Fittipaldi
Williams : Sargeant, Doohan
Nissany?!
Awful prediction
Crashmacher 😂😂😂
Schumacher isn’t getting that merc seat that’s ocons after Lewis retires
Would've been nice if you also listed all the drivers who would retire/lose a seat before 2026, according to your predictions.
crazy that both left Dennis Hauger out
the one at tommys haas prediction looks a little bit like ayrton senna
His idol is ayrton aswell, fast in quali and moments when He races where He “looks” like ayrton
Love you Matt for your Tsunoda prediction!! 👍
My F1 2026 line up
Red Bull: Verstappen,Perez
Aston Martin:Drugovich/Alonso,Stroll
Mercedes:Russell,Vesti/Schumacher
Ferrari:C Leclerc,A Leclerc 😁/Sainz
McLaren:Piastri,Schumacher/Drugovich
Alpine:Ocon,Zhou/Gasly
Haas:Magnussen,A Leclerc/Pourchaire
Audi:,Norris,Sainz/Pourchaire
AlphaTauri:Iwasa,Tsuonda
Williams:Albon,Sargeant
Cause I’m not sure for some teams
There’s no way Liam Lawson doesn’t have an F1 drive in 2026.
There are plenty of ways he won't have a drive.
I don't know... If his career is anything to go by, he will likely be robbed of the seat.
I see him getting one in 24 and being disappointing, getting the boot after 1 or 2 years.
@@yrosan he smashed Albon when they were teammates in DTM, just won on debut in Super Formula. No way he doesn't have a seat in the next few years
My Predictions:
Red Bull - Verstappen / Ricciardo
Aston Martin - Stroll / Drugovich
Mercedes - Russell / Gasly
Ferrari - C. Leclerc / Norris
McLaren - Piastri / Perez
Alpine - Ocon / Zhou
Haas - Sargeant / Pourchaire
Audi - Bottas / Schumacher
AlphaTauri - Iwasa / Lawson
Williams - A. Leclerc / Vesti
Audi goes crazy
Still 17 days to go
This season is crap anyway so I don't miss the racing
Leclerc is with Ferrari until 2029 and more importantly Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025, I don’t know if he’ll make to 2026 but that could really make it interesting for Seinz.
Hamilton signed till 2027 with Ferrari
I like Tommy's prediction for Audi. Unexpected but definitely plausible. I think they'll try to get Lando though.
