  • You are cold, hot, or lukewarm - what exactly does that mean? Hear Rick give you the answer to this important question in today’s program. To order the series and book offers click SHOW MORE.
The church of Laodicea was the last of seven churches Christ spoke to in the book of Revelation. Although His message was given nearly 2,000 years ago, it is still very relevant to us today. In this ten-part series, with openings captured throughout the ancient city of Laodicea, Rick Renner takes you on an inspiring journey revealing the history of Laodicea, the spiritual significance of being cold and hot and not lukewarm, and what it actually means to be “rebuked” and “chastened” by Christ. You’ll also hear Christ’s counsel to a calloused church, how His correction is always motivated by love, and how He promises instant intimacy for anyone who opens the door to Him. store.renner.org/product/195/...
In his book A Light in Darkness, Volume 1 Rick Renner creates a panoramic experience of unsurpassed detail to transport you into the ancient lands of the seven churches of Asia Minor. Within the context of this fascinating - and, at times, shocking - historical backdrop, Rick outlines challenges early believers faced in taking the Gospel to a pagan world. After presenting a riveting account of the apostle John's vision of the exalted Christ, Rick leads you through an in-depth study of Jesus' messages to the churches of Ephesus and Smyrna - profoundly relevant messages that sill resonate for His Church today. store.renner.org/product/120/...
In No Room for Compromise: Christ’s Message to Today’s Church, Rick Renner sets forth his most prophetic book to date. With a sobering charge to Christian leadership to stand up for faith in Christ - regardless of the price required to proclaim it in its purest form - Renner’s message is a clarion call: Winds of opposition against the Church are gathering. As pagan influences continue to increase in these last days, Christianity will once again become completely out of sync with the times with its message that Christ alone is the way to the Father. store.renner.org/product/17/n...

Nice analogy of water being hot or cold. But I think it's referring to the spiritual condition of the heart ❤️.

This really sheds some light on a passage often used as a tool of scorn within the Church; indifference really a helpful explanation. Thank you for showing how Jesus is loving here. This is the best teaching on this passage I've been blessed with.

I have both books and have read them cover to cover. They explain the Bible books and references to these cities of the 7 churches. I learned so much and highly recommend them so that you can better understand especially the New Testament and early Church. They are very interesting and the photography and drawings are beautiful.

Except 1) the drinking water to Laodicea was brought not from Hierapolis but from the south and 2) due to the exceptional high content of minerals the water from Hierapolis was not suitable for drinking.

Okay, but what does hot represent? What does cold represent? He is talking about mixing Law Covenant and the Grace Covenant.
He councils them to buy His Gold (His Holiness) and His white clothes (Righteousness). They thought they were rich in their own Gold, their own righteousness and needed nothing.
Philippians 3:9 explains the difference between Our own righteousness which is by our own works. And HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS which is given as a free gift for just believing in Him. They thought they were doing fine by their own works and in need of nothing.
