You see the vision. So many sleep on Jaden. They see a spoiled brat larping. I see a kid who doesn't know everything but wants to speak with his own mind, see what he sees in a genuine way. I think his albums will age well. And yes.... black music, hip hop can be a celebration too. It doesn't just have to be about suffering to be real.

I couldn’t agree more. I loved the part at 9:08 where Paper Boi wanted to get an interview with the media lady to get to know him as a person, but the lady dismissed him and said he should just ‘play his part’. A lot of people that listen to music have this weird bias that the singer/rapper’s personality is rooted in their songs. While there is some degree of realism in an artist’s work (some more than others), that doesn’t dismiss other aspects of the artist’s life that the majority of people don’t know about. Human beings aren’t one-dimensional, we’re a myriad of complex layers of emotions, thoughts and actions that extend far beyond what we put on paper.

Yo that was deep. I like the angle you took with this topic of Jaden smith. It’s grounded in reality and you made him relatable to the common man/rapper/artist. Great job bro. -Luv E

Instead of doing the easy thing -- piling on top of someone whose privilege seems to give onlookers carte blanche to ascribe all their misgivings about those they feel have been born with a silver spoon without considering that person's humanity, you took the time to try and see the person behind the image (icon if you will).
Your videos are so well researched and the way you include seemingly disparate references to aid in your analysis is pretty incredible.
You are clearly very well read/experienced.
I look forward to more of your work and am glad to have found your channel before you blow up!

Definitely just a play on the Fresh Prince. Just meant to say he comes from rap royalty. Thank you for watching!

Alot of criticism against jaden wasn’t that he comes from a wealthy background or that his music isn’t about the “struggle”…..there’s plenty of rappers who rap about other subjects….most of the criticism was about his skills as a rapper & the stuff he would say in his interviews & what he writes on social media

When you were speaking about hip hop artists debut album…you showed late registration from kanye & good kid maad city from kendrick…those are not their debut…kanye’s debut is college dropout…kendrick’s debut is section 80….for kendrick it is arguable good kid is his debut since it’s his major label debut…but with kanye you were just wrong

You also said nothing was the same is drake’s second album when take care is actually the second album…& you said the big day is chance the rapper’s second album but actually it’s his debut…all his other projects were free mixtapes

Yep, but I thought it was more conceptual. Less to do with the album order on my end. Thanks for watching
