With the stricter deployments for the 1st Gen KHIs trains now, the chances of riding them is slim, as they are only able to run on AM & PM slots and are not able to run past 11pm due to certain reasons.
Ever since the 25 Sept's EWL disruption, the decommissioning of the 1st Gen KHI trains were halted temporarily as they had to be grounded until recently.
On 14 Dec, the first KHI & first 12x trainset, 127/128 was sent to scrap, with EMU 127 going first.
SMRT announced on 9 Dec that all 1st Gen (KHI) trains will be fully decommissioned by 30 Sept 2025 instead of the original target, year 2026.
