The opening track from Eg and Alice's superb 24 Years Of Hunger album released in 1991 & recorded mostly, if I remember reading it rightly, at home. Well worth a listen. This track is the highlight of side 1, and side 2 just gets better and better, do check out New Years Eve, Indian, Cross Town, Doesn't Mean That Much To Me and I.O.U. This gets a well deserved play every so often and so does Eg White's own follow up albums Turn Me On I'm A Rocket Man (1996) and Adventure Man (2009). Eg is an Ivor Novello songwriting award winner for Will Young's Leave Right Now and has written with many of today's leading artists. I just wish he'd release some more of his own stuff.
Literally just pulled out a tape from a box of tapes I got from a charity shop about an hour ago. It had a pretty crummy cover but decided to try it out. My god, never heard of them before but so wish I had. Absolutely unexpected masterpiece. Life sometimes brings up little surprises and I have just had one. What more can I say?
This song and this entire album is totally amazing!!! It´s so timeless and is one of the best albums of the thousands that I own... It is up there with Paddy McAloon and Prefab Sprout... !!! Anyone who has´t heard this have really missed out of one of the best albums of all times...!!! That´s a big statement... but anyone who listens to this album and don´t feel emotions of any sort might just be dead from the soles of their feet and up... Joke part... Songwriting and performance doesn´t come better than this!!!
Fredrik Tragardh you're so right! I own this album and get mesmerized and emotional every time I listen. I've tried many times to purchase songs on Internet just in order to back myself up if the CD disc gets scratched , but there are few of songs if any! Spotify doesn't have them. I have this taste of music but not many of my people around have, I feel like an outcast, but yet selected. Thanks for posting this material of EG&Alice

This is just effing genius:) Every track is special... Such a shame that it’s not in the general public’s consciousness. Damn shame!!!

I was lucky to be there at the outset - under-rated, amazing album. Glad I have You Tube so I don't destroy my original tapes.
@taketimeout2 Don't suppose you feel like swapping the cassette for a CD? I've got two, but would like to own the cassette.

Love ur enthusiasm for music. It's people like us that secretly keep it worthwhile
Yes, great album - and they were probably big fans of Prefab Sprout, there's a kinship in the sound and songwriting here.
Lost masterpiece!
UNKLE, "bloodstain" brought me here
