I just wanna say a big thanks for the video and all the advices given, I had a similar issue and your video saved the day. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work :)
Hey Jesse, thank for the AWSOME video. You already saved me on a touch ID home button repair and need your help with my ipad 8th generation. In this video, you are explaining how the charging voltage increases when you wake the ipad up from sleep and the charging voltage decreases while in sleep. My ipad is doing the opposite. When the ipad is awake and is charging, the charging percentage stays on for example 95%. It will not increase or decrease. Then, when I put it into sleep while charging, the percentage increases. I checked the charging pins on the motherboard and they look perfect. Any suggestions? Ty
It's not the voltage that increases and decreases, it's the current (amps). You'll need to monitor your USB meter & see what it does. I would suggest you post a video of what you're seeing & the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far & post it in my group: www.vccboardrepairs.com/vcc-fb-group
@@VCCBoardRepairs sounds good and thanks for the correction (current vs volts). I will try to look up on how to test my USB meter. Is the USB meter part of the charging port/flex? Meaning, if I have a bad charging port will the USB meter be off?
@@raya.8963 USB Meter is a separate tool. It's where you see how much current is flowing from the charging brick to the iPad. It's what I show in the beginning of the video. You can buy one here: amzn.to/3xKji3t

Hey Jess, how do you know if it is the battery connector or the backlight? I was fixing a iPad Pro and the connector did not connect properly and it just went dark.
Question on a 10.5 ipad pro what would happen if a technician knocked off a gas gauge? Can this component be bridged? If bridged what would happen lol thanks!
Hello, I need help on Ipad pro a1673 I wanted to remove the logic board and I didn't pay attention to the fact that the extension connector was filled with rubber and I damaged the antenna connector that is connected above the camera, there is actually a double antenna extension, I would like to ask if you know where to get this connector, thanks for the answer
Excellent. Thank you, this helped me locate my issue. Had the same trouble with charging only with screen on. Cleaning some minuscule adhesive that had got stuck on the terminal fixed the issue. Apparently it was blocking the connection. 🤦🏼♂️
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Amazing tutorial! So helpful. Your knowledge saves me so much time/effort and trial/error.
Thank you so much!

Jesse I noticed iPad Pro has a 2 pin and 3 pin style connector I have an iPad 9th gen are those the 1 and 2 pin style like in your video?
There are like 3 different versions of the battery connector. So you'll have to get the correct one for your model.
@@VCCBoardRepairs yep that’s the thing. It finding one for iPad 9th gen. Was hoping it uses the same from previous years
The goat!!!
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

That sounds like the backlight blew. A battery connector should have nothing to do whether or not you see image or backlight on the screen
