    Cracking shooting mate owned the thunder 2 19 mm but sold it and went back to nv using the alpex 4k at the min Cracking scope !! hik products Really are top quality units ! Safe shooting buddy 😊

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks mate and yes I think this is a cracking scope. I haven't tried the 19mm model how did you find it? Is that the one that runs on cr123 batteries? I bought the Alpex 4k lrf but not had a chance to put it through its paces yet. And yes I love the hik products, they do have issues like any digital scopes but overall performances are brilliant I think. Happy hunting fella 👍

      @@jimwood the 19mm thunder 2 has the battery packs mate it was a decent thermal for under 1k but was lacking background detail when shooting around farms is a bit of a issue thats why i went back to nv i have a review and some footage on my channel mate if you would like to have a look any feedback would be appreciated bud 👍😀

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  7 месяцев назад +1

      @huntingwithairguns92 I know what you mean mate and I don't blame you for going back to nv. I'm going to do some videos which my 17HMR I bought not long ago and I'm putting my Pulsar C50 on it. You can't beat nv for detail and identification but for covert it's thermal all the way. Yep will be happy to check out your videos mate and leave comments 👍

    Great vid and shooting👍Im on the fence about buying the thunder 2 but this footage looks clear,what would you say max distance is for Rabbits,thanks SB

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks mate and yes considering it was damp conditions the scope performed really well. I am putting together a product review on it so hopefully will upload that in the next couple of weeks. What rifle would you use it on? I would say 150 yards with the rimfire wouldn't be an issue but just remember it's only got the 384 sensor in it so zooming in to the max it does get pixilated. I will show this on the review so keep an eye out for it mate.

    • @simonbeer5259
      @simonbeer5259 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@jimwood hi thanks for the quick response;I’d use it on my .22 lr or Fac air rifle,been struggling to locate the rabbits quickly in the scrubland I’m shooting them in and this looks like it would be the dogs,and much more covert than having a big IR on digital,look forward to the review and next vid 👍

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  7 месяцев назад

      @simonbeer5259 it's definitely more covert mate and using it on either of those rifles would be perfect. Personally I would like to keep it on my rimfire but sadly it has to go back soon. Let me know what you think of the review video once I've uploaded it mate.

    Good stuff mate....I just bought a 457 with a Alpex 4k LRF.. ( your fault😂) have you got your 4k yet?

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  6 месяцев назад

      😂😂 my fault, okay I will take the blame but only because I think its a cracking little rifle. I have a 452 17HMR now as well so looking forward to playing with that. Yes I got my 4k lrf a while ago but the weather has been shocking here for the past few weeks I have been able to get out with it. How you finding your new set up? Looking forward to seeing some video's with it mate 👍

      @@jimwood Nice, that 17 sounds perfect for your properties.
      I'm very impressed with the Cz and hik, still learning the hik but I'm nearly there lol.
      The CZ, for the money is excellent, I have no complaints, for the price, you will only get half a sako
      Well made, finished and accurate...it shoots as well as my 1999 sako finnfire.
      I have finally sifted through all the menus of the hik and must say, it is a very impressive bit of gear.
      Have taken a few bunnies already with eley hv , the rifle loves them.
      Also just wondering howdo you clean the soft touch stock?....
      When i find a patch where theres more than one rabbit I'll make a vid 😄👍

    • @jimwood
      @jimwood  6 месяцев назад +1

      @cyclo360 honestly mate it's a perfect combo I absolutely love mine. Hopefully get the 17HMR sighted in and do some videos with that as well. As for the stock I haven't touched mine in the 3 years I've owned it apart from going over it with a wet wipe. That's all. Mine really likes the CCI SUBSONIC HOLLOW POINT 40 grain. Will look forward to your bunny video.
