  • Hey there, fellow wanderlust warriors! Buckle up, because this time, Kathy and Scott from "K Now What?" are trading the lush rainforests of Costa Rica for the sun-drenched, flamingo-filled wonders of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. We’re hopping aboard one of Sansa Airlines' compact but trusty planes, and it's all smooth sailing-or should I say flying-from there.
First stop: the charming village of Chuburna. We’re staying at Casa Ixtul, a slice of paradise owned by our dear friends Sandra and Mike. Trust us, this place is an oasis that’s got us questioning if we’ll ever want to leave. Seriously, you need to see this!
But the adventure doesn’t stop at our stunning accommodations. Oh no, we’re hitting the road for a picturesque journey along the Emerald Coast with Sandra and Mike by our side. Expect vibrant turquoise waters, scenic drives, and yes, those iconic pink lagoons that are practically Instagram legends. And speaking of legends, we'll be introducing you to some of our new feathered friends-the flamingos who grace these lagoons with their elegant presence.
We'll be sharing our thoughts, laughs, and a few classic Kathy-and-Scott blunders along the way. It's a visual feast with a side of humor, perfect for anyone dreaming of their next tropical escape. So, whether you're planning a trip to the Yucatan or just need a mini-vacation from your couch, come along and explore this Mexican gem with us.
Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button for more of our globe-trotting escapades, and ring the bell so you never miss an adventure.
    Gracias, amigos!

    Hola! 😁
Nice place to spend a 2 anniversary of your journey. Congratulations, I guess.
The last time I was busing and hitchhiking (yes) around the Yucatan was in the Mid 70’s. Cancún was just getting started. Loved that area of all the many trips and months I spent in Mexico over many years. I stayed in Progresso for a few weeks as well as hitting the pyramids. Ahh the memories. 🙂
By the way, I’m no fashionista, but Kathy that yellow dress, or yellow really suits you. 🙂

Kathy spent some time in the area before Scott was on the scene (a period of time he refers to as BS - before Scott😂) She’s often commented on how much the area has changed.
Despite the changes it feels to us that the Emerald coast remains one of Mexico’s well kept secrets. It’s managed to retain some authenticity despite growth.
And Kathy thanks you for your comments on her sun dress - one of Scott’s favourites!

glad to see another video this morning... and a new destination! you guys really go upscale with your air bnb rentals! (ah, now you mentioned this one is owned by your friends) Scott has some really good camera skills to show off the details of the place. and you always make me jealous with your food choices and descriptions! the last time I had some good seafood I had coconut shrimp as well! Yucatan looks amazing and has so many unique things to offer (flamingos!). I have only been to Cancun over on that side. too hot and humid for me though. I prefer being high up in the mountains where its cooler. the rainy season just started here in Chiapas this week!
I have been living in Mexico for almost 3 years myself. been back to Canada for a total of 10 weeks. last time had to get a new passport so now I dont have to go back for 10 years! but this summer I am going back for 2 months and will bring my Mexican girlfriend to see Canada for the first time.

Thanks once again for your incredible comments, we really enjoy them and we’re grateful for your support!
We both really love this area of the Yucatan because there is so much to explore. Although we haven’t explored the Chiapas area yet, we understand why you’ve chosen to live in Mexico. Such a beautiful country! We look forward to spending time exploring more of the country in the future.
Enjoy your time in Canada this summer!
