Steve Martin was so hilarious. He could literally turn any scene into comedic gold.
CD Bales is my Hero. yes i know a different movie.
Still is. I love him on Only Murders in the Building
Steve Martin set the bar for parenting in this scene
The kind of movie that sets the bar WAY too high for actual parents! 😂
This movie always reminds me that kids have problems just like adults. The problems are different but the impact is the same. Sons need their Dads. But don’t ever forget we need our sons too.
I love how Kevin is saying that all the kids are going to hate him.
I'm thinking to myself: _"Dude, your Ol Man got you a STRIPPER for your birthday. You're going to be the COOLEST kid on the BLOCK!"_ 😎👍
Yeah I remember when I turned 30 years old my dad got me my first stripper now my dad is heading towards 80 I’m getting him a stripper for his birthday
I’m still trying to figure out what company provides both strippers for adults and cowboys for kid’s parties. Seems like that’s a bad mixup just waiting to happen (and which in this case did happen)
@@curtyeomans8446party entertainment company. They'll have clowns, male and female strippers, though sadly these days they'll have to have to probably carry trans strippers as well. My friend from school back during the 80s, when I was a kid had parents that owned an entertainment company that provided party entertainment that had it all from clowns, to strippers, to cowboys, to even a damn petting zoo.
@@curtyeomans8446That reminded me of a _Flintstones_ episode with the dancing girls... 😅
This movie inspired me to be the adult/parent I am today. No joke.
Saw it in the dollar theatre when it had run its course. One of the best dollars I ever spent. I was in high school and it woke me up to the fact that parents never quit worrying about their kids. I am 50. My kids are in their 20s and it is a fact. It never ends. Just like your Aunt Edna’s ass.
100%
One of my all-time favorite movies.
One of those movies you can watch a 100 times and still make you laugh.
Now that’s a birthday party! 😊
This is the greatest scene in the movie
No it was an electric ear cleaner
It's kinda big! @@RewskOnTV
Your lower intestines
And they all cheer!😂
Yippe Kiya hooo kiya hoooo!!!
If I had a dad like this, I'll be sure to say "Thank you" to him on and on until I die.
❤ indeed. Me too.
This scene is hilarious Steve Martin was made to play Gil ❤😂❤
This mixup set up happened on an episode of the Flintstones. The dancing girls went to pebbles’s birthday party while the clown went to the lodge.
Some still say Cowboy Gil can be heard quite late at night,
baying at the moon over his injured shin...
This movie is a pillar of our childhood for my siblings and I.
It's one of my favorite movies ever
Whenever I want to revisit my youth I come watch this clip
I never liked Cowboy Dan. I hated his smile. I hated his swagger. Mostly I hated the way he killed my family. Thanks, Cowboy Gil!
Here it is in 2022.
Kevin and his friends are at the lodge hall waiting for the stripper
What a great cast: Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Leaf Phoenix, Mary Steenburgen, Keanu Reeves, Etc.
This movie is a laugh a minute!
You can definitely see the influence from Wally Bogue from the golden horseshoe review at Disneyland.
Gil has saved Kevin's birthday! :)
I’m so glad they made this movie! ❤😊
Steve M ❤
Kids from the '80s were built different
In all honesty the kids already hated Kevin, they were just there for food, games and Cowboy Dan.
Somehow I think his whole thing was improv. Judging by the reaction of the kids and other actors. 😁
This is what we men REALLY mean when we say boys will be boys
1:05 😂
Parenthood was an absolutely schizophrenic movie 🎬 I mean seriously talk about the gamut of emotions. ❤😂
But within that morass of emotional turmoil this scene happens. And suddenly your heart lifts your life feels better and everything just seems to make more sense?
Because a Dad was prepared to be an absolute dick just to make his kid feel better on his birthday ❤😂
Funniest man ever
Iove lady playing mom❤
That's Mary Steenburgen who is married to Ted Danson
Please put full movie
4:13, 4:19 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your lower intestine🤣
🤣
Thanks to 2022 progressives a stripper entertaining a a child's birthday party isn't all that far-fetched or inappropriate.
You only think other people find that acceptable when you’re an idiot who believes everything.
Reality and the laws says that’s illegal.
@@sarcasticallyrearranged You've obviously haven't been keeping up with current events and screw you for calling me an idiot.
Yawn.
You MAGA morons find a way to politicize & turn EVERYTHING into some dumb culture war.
@Mary Webb You're seriously comparing playing make believe cowboys and indians to bringing nudity/sexuality into a children's world?
@Mary Webb Oh, I'm not stupid. I just think that social norm and whatnot have gone overboard with today's progressives who see nothing wrong with introducing children to something that's very adult.
A classic! The best of Ron Howard’s work IMHO. 🩵 #ihappentoliketherollercoaster
