Austin Miller I only built the courage to complete the shark bit 12 years later when I was 16. Before then, I never even attempted it. Screeewwww that.
I knew Moneybags was right about not being able to get past the sharks without the sub, but one time as a little kid I decided to test that theory anyway. I didn't make it five feet.
I thought of a good theme song for aquaria towers: Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark doo doo doo doo. Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark!

I was never afraid of the sharks at first. For the longest time, I thought they just swam in circles. I never got close to them on my own and would only face them when I had the super flame. On one playthrough, however, I got curious. I swam close to a circle of sharks and then swam away as far as I could. I turned around expecting to see nothing, and was instead met with the jaws of a rapidly approaching mechanical shark! On that day I knew true fear.
If you use your headbutt dash while running around the edge of the map, you'll eventually push yourself out. The moment I found this out as a kid, I shat all the bricks.
I remember playing the game and I would hold my breath whenever I went underwater. But then I came here and after I filled the place with water and I still held my breath until I couldn't hold it anymore. I hated this place so much. And those robo sharks scared the crap out of me!
This wasn't my favourite level, but I loved the part at the end where the whole level would fill up with water and you could swim around freely. Except in the Shark Cavern (I hated those big Metal Sharks) Plus riding on the Manta Ray and "climbing" the towers to save the (seahorse?) kids was cool :)
Those damn sharks.. I nearly shat myself when one of those metallic buggers got me from behind. But oh my god, MAJOR relief when I obliterated them with Super Flame. ;D
*The funny looking guys with the shock sticks have drained all our water! We can’t get it back unless someone activates the switches they’re guarding.*
LET ME SUMMARIZE: When Insomniac dropped the Spyro franchise in order to work on Rachet and Clank for the next generation (PS2 era), that is when the Spyro series had begun to fall (i.e. "Spyro, Enter the Dragonfly"). The first 3 installments for the Playstation will ALWAYS be a gem of a trilogy and a staple in the foundation of gaming.
OMG This brings back happy memories of my childhood! :D I miss the good ol days.. This remains one of my favorite games and this level was one of my faves.
I like the level glitch I found when I was a kid for this level, you could swim so far away and look at the level from a distance ^^ and even swim through the walls and stuff. Was funky =P
hahaha omg all this music is THE BEST!!!! i'm SO glad you put it up! And i love hearing about everyone's memories. Because these games (especially the music) brings back sooo many of those memories! It's wonderful. Haha the sharks scared me way bad too!
Man once you make it to the top where Hunter is the level looks even more beautiful. But man, the first time the sharks attacked me I jumped off my shoes!
What made the sharks terrifying is that they can chase you and will not stop until it kills you. Someone went in the circle got out fast thinking they were safe only for the shark to catch the player off guard since they can chase u when it’s flooded
At first I hated this level because of the sharks and thought that there was all to explore when I got to the end, until I noticed a open hole from the first drain unplugged once the world was underwater I swam to it to see a awesome city!! Manta ray surfing at its best!
This music is awesome! I've listened to it about 100 times already since I dicovered it, which was like yesterday. 'Tis epic. And it brings back memories too, I used to crap myself when I saw the sharks going around in a circle. ._."
Omggggg I LOVED these games to death. For fucking real. These were my fucking favorite games. Now I'm a stupid teenager who cusses all the time and masturbates :( I still have these games and a working playstation. I should play them. I remember that one level where you played hockey with that Yeti and the buddahs. Oh, and that one level that's sorta creepy and you had to turn on the windmills or something? haha. and the one where u had to collect the bones for the desert guys with unibrows. lol
Listen to the following songs: Cronopolis (Chrono Cross) Mysterious Ruins (Devil May Cry 2) Zanarkand Ruins (FFX-2) also watch the beginning of the video "Bulletproof Monk, Jade vs Nina fight scene" on RUclips Now Tell me if you believe it or not in conspirancies xD
Vexhyl You sir deserve the whole internet! Thanks for showing me the path for the original. I was already going insane hearing this beat on many...MANY other videogame tracks, movies and even music clips :)
@Masamuneblade7 I couldn't agree more, those guys do look like kenny, but wearing a diving suit. Makes you wonder if those are kenny's relatives or something lol.
@T4MP0N Sadly, you're not the only one. o3o I still can't go near that green cavern where those damn sharks are... Hell, even the green color of the cavern scares the shit outta me.
and to top that off, i played this on tuesday. when i was rescuing those seahorses in the 6 towers i came a cross a random cave thing with a whole ring of them. even now, as a 14 year old straight guy, they still scared me shitless haha
i liked the old spyros i remember buying spyro legend of the dragon a few years ago and it didn't feel the same as the other games, spyro 1 2 and 3 were the best in my opinion.
this is my favorite level of the game, the sharks used to scare me alot when i played this when i was younger. i was playing this yesterday and when i was by the sharks i was like wow i cant belive these used to scare me
I think in this level underwater theres no "invisible wall" allowing you to swim out as far as you want. But I never tried it back when I was a tike, had other intrests. I hated the spiralling electric fields...
@Candichiz Your childhood was being eaten by skarks? JK! This game is my favorite game of all time, and after revisting it recently, I suddenly fell in love with this track
I also hope no one ever byes Zelda.*Shivers* Imagina what someone could do to Zelda to make gamers mad..I mean changes made to Zelda if you loook at the "Good for business." Changes would be VERY drastic.
"The funny looking guys with the shock sticks have drained all our water. We can't get it back unless someone activates the switches they're guarding."
I always hated the shock-stick Kenny guys because of how they treated the seahorses. But I did like this level. Summer Forest World Favs: 1. Glimmer 2. Hurricos 3. Glimmer 4. Idol Springs 5. Colossus 6. Sunny Beach (the turtle soup thing pissed me off so it's last on the list)
Maybe I'm thinking about it too hard, but it might be his lungs compressing the air so he can hold it for an extremely long time. (I mean, it's possible, it's not like he's a human.)
Only people who played this before they were 10 will understand the childhood trauma those sharks used to giveaway...
+DimitrisGerakaris I loved this level even back then, and the sharks still gave me nightmares!
iamaninsomniac Me too!
iamaninsomniac Also, the plants in Spyro 1, Misty Bog.
+DimitrisGerakaris Yeah, those gave me the creeps! Fracture Hills had something similar too.
iamaninsomniac Oh yeah but not so much. I played fracture hills when I was 11 or so.
Swimming in this game is smoother than in any other 3d plataformer that I've played so far
rayman 2
@Hx1349 rayman legends got some nice swimmin
except they ruined it in the remaster :( sad
Kimarnic Ruined it? It works pretty good for me.
@@superlombax1561 not as smooth as the ps1 original, the camera is awful
THE SOUND OF SO MANY CRABS. The sound of them moving in them towers always freaked me out.
The music didn't help either because it tricked me into thinking some of them were closer than they actually are.
Ahaha yes Pooky! xD
Austin Miller I only built the courage to complete the shark bit 12 years later when I was 16. Before then, I never even attempted it. Screeewwww that.
The shark.... never again >_
AbnormalAbbi That's what happened to me with Misty Bog in Spyro 1 xD I went 10 to kill the freaking plants!!! :O
I knew Moneybags was right about not being able to get past the sharks without the sub, but one time as a little kid I decided to test that theory anyway. I didn't make it five feet.
I feel like that is about his only good-natured fair deal, haha.
I thought of a good theme song for aquaria towers:
Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark doo doo doo doo. Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark!
them sharks scared the shit out of me as a kid :(
Renissa SPOILER ALERT:
Me, too, you have no idea of the satisfaction I had when I found out you can kill them with the Super Flame
I thought of a good theme song for aquaria towers:
Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark doo doo doo doo. Metal shark. Doo doo doo doo. Metal shark!
Glad I'm not the only one still afraid of those damn sharks!

I can only think of How It's Made whenever I hear this.
I swear to god it’s the exact same sample used in both
@@Nobody-hc2bo Glad I'm not the only one to notice this!
I don't technically like water levels in video games, however, for this level I will make an exception!
Spyro solved the main problem with water levels by giving you the ability to charge
I hate water levels in games of Crash Bandicoot.
those sharks freaked me out
It freaks you out because you couldn't charge them
If you use your headbutt dash while running around the edge of the map, you'll eventually push yourself out. The moment I found this out as a kid, I shat all the bricks.
+G. T. Duarte I achieved that once and I had the same reaction
I remember playing the game and I would hold my breath whenever I went underwater. But then I came here and after I filled the place with water and I still held my breath until I couldn't hold it anymore. I hated this place so much. And those robo sharks scared the crap out of me!

2:16-2:43 sounds like Hurricos sped up
Omar Muhammad
Maybe Stewart Copeland Did That Intentionally, Just To Make It Sound More Awesome!!
Michael Jefferson-Ricks, Jr. yeah i think so
with some songs he remixed them or he added a bit onto other tracks
The shark.....
In general, spyro 1 has my favorite ost. But this, zephyr hills, and colossus are standout osts for me
“How It’s Made” music
i love this level of this game
This level is awesome... there were some really good ideas for levels in Spyro 2.
*The funny looking guys with the shock sticks have drained all our water! We can’t get it back unless someone activates the switches they’re guarding.*
You’re everywhere...
this is my fav. song in this game!
This was in my head constantly when I played Subnautica.

ok

I'm surprised they never tried to make a tv show out of spyro, I would have watched the crap out of that.
OMG This brings back happy memories of my childhood! :D

That first instrument I always hear “TODAY ON HOW ITS MADE!!!”

I love how it gradually gets to 0:40!
What made the sharks terrifying is that they can chase you and will not stop until it kills you. Someone went in the circle got out fast thinking they were safe only for the shark to catch the player off guard since they can chase u when it’s flooded
Oh, well, I haven't yet played a single Spyro game...but I can still listen to this!
I loved going out and seeing the skybox just blue...
i still do
I love this song :D
God these songs bring back memories
Thank you 💗💗💗💗

2:17 a mix of Hurricos!

calming music . :)
@SoulWebkinz The CDI Zelda games are a good example of what could happen when Shigeru Miyamoto isn't at the wheel.
@RumblingintheRocks08 It is the same game but a different name for the game. Gateway to Glimmer is the title of the game in Europe and Australia. :D
This was the main reason i got scared of deep water.
Beginning sounds like the chronopolis theme from chrono cross
Its the same sample
Same ample can be found in FFX-2's Zanarkand Ruins

i just wish there were pictures of all these places so we could remember what they look like again.
@Tenshionnanoko128 The theme for this game is from an underwater level :)

The escape the map glitch at the top of the level is so funny XD
yo yall this that electronic sample is the same one in discovery channels "How Its Made" :-D
Just listening to this song reminds of the part where you swim up at the top, and I was stuck trying to find the exit and crap lmao
I wish every future Spyro game was like this...
@TheHJman You DARE say that in my presence!? I think it looks awesome!
Ah the shock sticks! I re-named the stun rod in Resident Evil 5 the same thing ^^
I think I know a good song for this level.
Metal shark. Doo Doo Doo Doo. Metal shark. Doo Doo Doo Doo. Metal shark. Doo Doo Doo Doo. Metal shark!

"the shock stick guys are tough. last week they turned ted our giant squid into fried calamari" i loved it when that seahorse said that lol
The beggining sounds so badass with headphones on. It goes from one headphone to the other.

@SaruWaza I get that when I play games other than Spyro and glitch out of the map and fall down into the skybox belox, just creeps me out :S
those metal sharks scared THE SHIT OUT OF ME.

I don't know why but the background sounds in this makes me think of water or ocean
wonder why zero dislikes? Cause the original spyro is badass!
I remember spending hours upon hours in this level when I was like 8....and having nightmares about the metal sharks.
Somebody needs to make extended versions of the Spyro soundtracks... especially since the remakes are on the cusp of being announced.
when I was a child I was terrified by metal sharks on this level.... T.T
Good song of Spyro!
I was justing asking because it's only video game I know that went by two different names.

can't wait to hear this song remastered expecially how they'll pull off this sound at 2:16
looks like they pulled it off my dude
by getting the sound from copeland in hd!
i would always try to swim through those mechanical sharks but i couldnt. they always scardd me as a kid haha
Calling all spyro fans a trilogy is in the works yeessss
Yes, that too!
Felt sorry for that seahorse when that shockstick figure poured the water in the bucket besides giving it to him.
I remember playing the level for the first time and literally screaming at the sharks when they swam at me.
Really hard level. Took forever to find EVERY gem....
@TheKronos16 lol, I'm 15 and those fucking sharks are still scary to me...and I've played Silent Hill games and Amnesia the Dark Descent! XD
