When I was little we lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, just one house away from my great grandmother. She loved reading stories to all her great grandchildren, especially Beatrix Potter's stories. I read them to my children as well as my grandchildren. I was touched deeply by her impact on children as well as the environment she fought to save. I was surprised to find my daughter and granddaughter chose her for research projects; one in a literature class then again later on women's rights; the other used her in a science class study on environmental preservation. Ms. Beatrix Potter Heelis touched so many and continues to do so in in many ways.
Makes me emotional knowing Beatrix saved all of that land for the national trust so we can all enjoy it today 💖 I loved her books growing up too I cherished my mini collection of her books 😄💖
I saw the movie about her life she was so interesting. I broke my heart when she lost Norman but then she found William. Fabulous children's books. She was a one of a kind woman. Absolutely love and respect this woman. Saving the farms and way of life. She is so amazing.
I studied Beatrix Potter for 2 years. Was inspired by her books. Several years later at a National Trust event in Nottingham found out that the National Trust had sold some of Beatrix Potter's land in the Lake District to release some cash for theTrust. I was really shocked and saddened. Lost faith in the National Trust 😢
I had the whole collection of books when I was younger. Unfortunately due to the sewer system in our building backing up so much of my childhood stuff was completely destroyed. I lost other huge chunks other devastating ways. I did buy the books for my daughter when she was little, I don't know what my ex did with them he was very destructive and malicious but she loved learning how to read with them
I absolutely loved the film but hate the ads. If that is the only way to view this site it is a terrible shame, as I assume it will drive many of us away.
Not indoctrination. Realisation. Becoming aware of the intrinsic value of a beautiful landscape. The indoctrinated were the hunters, railway executives and greedy developers.
Interesting. Beautiful area. I didnt know she had dissected animals or skinned her pet rabbit, Benjamin. It has definitely changed my view of who she was and her work. She was more analytical scientific practical and business oriented than lost in heart-warming fantasy. The capacity to cut apart animals for study and skin your own pet after it dies is, to be honest, shocking. Which is why they kept this information hidden for so many decades.
I wish that I didn't hear about her dissecting little animals, even little Peter rabbit! That certainly takes away the illusion of the cozy life she was trying to portray!
This is a heartless program!! She kept Peter's pelt because she couldn't face not being able to touch him! Did you even once consult a Potter scholar? No! Obviously not! This is wicked! You have hurt her memory and her blessed soul. You have done great harm and great evil! May the hurt you've done be done to you!!!

I adored her stories, phenomenal graphics. Her childhood was so sad. She was amazing!
Not graphics- hand-scribed in ink original writings illustrated with hand drawn & watercolored small masterpieces.
Beatrix Potter is one of my favorite childhood authors and illustrators

Love the National Trust. One of my favorite British institutions.
The film about Ms Potter is wonderful.
Yes. I didn't know what to expect... but it was great. It's available on TUBI. The title is "Miss Potter"
This is a great insight in her life. Thank you! It was interesting!

I have her collection, there are times I feel as if she could have been my twin, I love Beatrix!!!
Way too many advertisements. Ruins this lovely program to be interrupted so often.

In the 1960s my father hady a Cortina. From Bakersfield California USA.
I remember this book and it's a famous book. It was written in 1902 and the other books were written in the 1900's.
Brilliant stuff! Also wondering if the host is related to BP. Since they have got the same nose 😊!

I thought that her pet rabbit was called Peter Piper. I understand that she had a few during her life
It’s good to be the rabbit in the year of the rabbit
RUclips at its best!!!
😅😅😅😅😅well information good show 😅
Environmentalist is truly a modern term which is often used out of context. Miss Potter was a conservationist not an environmentalists.

I have to agree! Not so warm and cozy as I had thought!! Yikes

God Bless the British Empire! God's greatest gift to mankind!
I don't want to hear this.
I'm gone.
She skinned Peter Rabbit. No that's too horrible. I love her art. I don't want to know one more thing about her.
