Of all the times he is receiving the ball he is either dropping in with the two center halves so he can collect the ball from deeper and carry the ball forward or he’s playing in the half spaces closer to the fullback so he can hurt the opposition from different angles and receive the ball with less pressure

Ah yes he's a complete midfielder... a complete defensive midfielder. Someone who does the dirty work of always offering a backpass and keeping possession. He's not a CAM and I don't think he ever will be. He's not used to working in extremely tight spaces and doesn't have the finishing ability to do it. His strength is in being able to dribble forwards from out back and always being an option to play to without losing the ball. But that's also because he plays in the back where there is more space. In Barca you can tell they're forcing him forward where he keeps losing the ball over and over again. The best antidote to someone like de Jong is to park the bus. Don't even try to chase him, just wait for the ball to come.
Very good player, but actually he needs to play 1 more year at Ajax to refine his skills. Before moving to a club like Barca, PSG or City in my opinion.
Would be awesome if barca can get de ligt on top of de jong. I heard that madrid is willing to give more money out for de ligt, but surely at the end of the day its not always about the money. With de jong already joined there is a high chance that de ligt might follow ;D .
