Leaving a comment because I love this idea of a payoff top 10. It gives famous typal cards room to shine without being pushed out by single standalone strong cards or cards that incidentally have types that have no bearing on the cards playability. Looking forward to more like this! Elves, merfolk, goblins, humans are the next obvoius ones. Dragons would be a good one, angels maybe. Could also do card types as well, cards that care about having an artifact/enchantment/planeswalker
I remember Zombies got a lot of payoffs in one set, but then a bunch of essential cards rotated out in like 1-2 months. My local meta was all zombie decks, so I packed a bunch of maindeck sweepers and some graveyard hate in my main deck for FNM. Fun times!
Zombie tribal will always be my favorite legacy deck. Being able to loop gravecrawlers and geralfs messenger with carrion feeder and chain gempalm polluter with unholy grotto and lord of the undead was so much fun to grind people out. Combine that with a brutal hand ripper strat and baby you got a stew going.
I love the idea of making top 10s about typal payoffs, I hope we see the video for goblin or human payoffs soon. Also, my guess for number 1: Kalitas, that card was everywhere for a long time.
This really makes me think of my U/B zombie deck. Where I use Necroduality to clone my powerhouse zombies. Its really funny to see a Gleaming Overseer token give itself hexproof and menace
Zombies are fun to play with, especially when i combo wilhelt, gravecrawler and rooftop storm together in my wilhelt zombie commander deck, just add a splash of sacrifice cards etc to completely dominate the field.
Love zombies. Have much more powerful decks but zombies are the most fun. BUT zombies really need some new cards that keep up with the power creep and preferably in the 1-2 mana cost range.
I have never played Zombies, it's just not a deck that particularly interests me. But I *do* remember Liliana, the Last Hope. If only because when MTG content first started getting recommended to me on RUclips, the first video I watched was The History of Grizzly Bears and Eldritch Moon was mentioned, and I enjoyed reading the cards of Eldritch Moon even though I couldn't exactly parse what the keywords meant. So in a way, the card has a bit of a special nostalgia for me. In the same way asking for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" does. If anything, they're quite interlinked, because I first found *this* channel from a comment made on The History of Grizzly Bears video.
Sometimes, I just question my own imagination, because based on other cards that made this list, I was hoping to see one of my own favorite Zombie payoffs; Death Baron. I like that it's a Lord, and even for a second subtype; in this case, skeletons, and gives your Zombies, and Skeletons, Deathtouch, which I feel would give a lot of little, cheap Zombie tokens an edge, but I guess it must be lacking something. Maybe if Skeletons were a more supported subtype, or they just rolled those into Zombies, like how they did wirh Viashino, Cephalids, and the like.
I noticed when you were doing the 'scoring criteria' that there's some background music from your usual shows. Just as a suggestion, but you might want to re-record that without anything in the background (if you don't have the raw audio) so you can use it without weird audio glitches like that in non-standard episodes like these.
I feel like kalitas doesnt belong on the list. He isn't a zombie support card, he is a generic good card that just happens to have the word zombie in his textbox.

Love this series each year Nizzahon. It's cool how you keep finding Halloween specific MTG topics.

Pretty neat idea. A payoff series of videos for playing specific creature types, sub-types, and card types.
Special shout outs to my girl Graveborn Muse. She was never a competitive titan, but was and probably still is an absolute all star in casual games.

I remember when Pestilence was the shit, with zombies and rats, i`m that old 🙂

I'm a little surprised that there's no cemetery reaper, or noxious ghoul.
Agreed. I had fun with those 2 cards esp Noxious Ghoul... which turns your zombies into mini board wipes. Im guessing they just fell short 😢
Neither have ever really been a factor in 60-card formats.
Necroduality?
*steps in 3cmc Lord*
"Ew, I just walked right into a pile of 2011!"
Zombies: Braaaaaaains...
Mono Black Players: Hehehe, you crack me up little buddy.
What's the joke here? There isn't one
It's a reference to the comic/cartoon/videogame Sam & Max @@Beaudunk

Amonkhet-Shadows over Innastrad standard has so many on this list.
Zombies are far and away the most fun and interesting tribe.
Then what is? What’s the most objectively fun tribal in MtG? Tell us please
Favorite channel by far!!

@@latinojackson9694 Thanks.

Ooh perfect for my nevinyrall zombie dance party commander deck
I want to make a zombie deck to go with a human deck. 😊
Bowmasters single handedly making x/1's unplayable to the point of liliana and w6 being almost irrelevant.
One of the oldest commander deck I have is zombies Grimgrin turned scarab god it was classic zombie tokens but I always gets an update every few years
The Scarab God?
Edit:
Meph, close.
All hail the scarab God!

Top 10 scary MTG creature arts you would not want to meet in person.
Perfect timing
Spooky MTG TOP 10!!! 🎃🧟🧛💀👹
Yo is that a new spooky outtro??
Get the BFM from cracked, lol.
Holy shit finally a top 10 without random ass capitalization lmao
What do you mean?
@@JasonOshinko nvm he changed it, but he almost puts RANDOM CAPITALIZATION in his titles and it's incredibly irritating.
Zombie definitely doesn’t sound like a real word anymore 😂
My pre-video guess for #1: Gravecrawler right? Edit: oh wait Im dumb thats the thumbnail, it's never the thumbnail :(
It's been the thumbnail before, just very rare.
F yeah, ideas for my esper zombie deck.
**Spoiler*****
I already had # 9-6, 4, and 3 in it 😅
We don't do card that made the list last time? Maaaan rember when Liliana last hope was 45€ that's long ago
Same. Same. I hate how time works.
This is the first time I've ever done this list. So...no?

Sacrificing zombies for value is definitely a payoff. And he was even played in Zombie decks in Standard.
@@NizzahonMagicHe was the first mythic I opened in a pack. I’ve been playing zombie tribal ever since.
Woot woot 3rd 1st comment this year
Wtf?
Why is that at all relevant?
I'm really surprised that Field of the Dead didn't make this list.
It's not a zombie payoff.
Yup, its a land fall pay off, but the output are zombies... so i get the confusion (thought of this too)
typal? im out
