Dragon Ball Daima Episode 1 is FINALLY here and man.. it's beautiful. Episode may have been a TAD on the slow side at the start but was still enjoyable and a feast for the eyes. I had a blast watching and already know Episode 2 is going to be a TREAT. How are you guys feeling about the first episode?

Can I say, I LOVE seeing the Demon Realm in canon now. All we've had from it before was from Dragon Ball Heroes which is non-canon. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it as Daima goes on.
Also, the confirmation that Namekians do originate from the Demon Realm brings Demon King Piccolo full-circle. It brings more validation to his title and demeanor.
Looking forward to episode 2.
I know we all flipped out with the Majin Buu Saga remastered scenes. That Goku vs Vegeta spar later in the episode is so freaking good!!!

On Degusu and Arinsu being siblings of Shin:
Kai lore states that all Kai’s are born from the same sacred tree, so I think similarly to how all the angels except Grand Priest are siblings, all Kai’s are siblings
Also, Glorio giving Mira vibes…and Arinsu giving Towa vibes. Act 3 of Daima might go crazy but maybe that’s just cope
And also Degesu is probably a Makaioshin, the daizenshu states that when a fruit goes bad/omits evil energy, makaioshins are born.
The inconsistencies are more of an issue for the anime of Super. The manga version is fine as long as Shin and Kibito fuse again by the end. The anime version of Super is cooked because Goku doesn't find out about a Potara work-around until U6 where he was shocked that they defused but Shin tells him about using the Dragon Balls to defuse.
The manga never has this scene of Goku and only has Old Kai confused which is when Shin is like "oh we used the Dragon Balls to separate again" so as long as Old Kai ain't involved in Daima and they re-fuse by the end of Daima, the MANGA is still consistent. Not really a shocker since Toriyama has consistently used the manga for a reference as shown with DBS Broly and Superhero following more so the manga's lore. Makes sense when Toriyama is on record stating he revised, help write and reviewed every chapter of the Super manga before they release whereas the anime just used Toriyama's vague outline and did their own thing with their own writers (which is why the anime and manga events are so different)
Couldn't this just be explained by Goku assuming that they don't have a Majin Buu to defuse, making it equally shocking to him? Its been a while since I've seen super so I might be missing something there
In Dragon Ball Super it is mentioned that Namekians came to universe seven from another dimension. Guess thats the demon realm
If you compare this to Super's firsy episode, while not exactly fair because of the time crunch, it's absolutely insane how much better Daima is
Super had a really terrible production schedule unfortulately. Glad, that Toei learned their lesson.
People often mistake "Kai" as a race, but "Kai" is actually a title that means "king." Degesu and Dr. Arinsu are Core People (shin-jin) , but it is unclear if they hold the title of "Kai."
Namekian lore is kinda crazy. Also helped by the fact that we've essentially been dripfed lore over the course of 40 years lmao. Seems like now we know they originated in the demon realm, some number of them ended up moving to universe 7 and ended up on namek for reasons unknown, and I guess some of them also went to u6 namek? Then I believe some sort of plague or drought caused a lot of the u7 namekians to die, and kami was sent to earth in an effort to save him from it. Then kami essentially tries out for being God, and has to spit out demon king piccolo to become pure of heart and take up the role. Half of that might not even be true, but it's certainly interesting lmao
watched it and man. It looks so good, the story looks like its gonna be filled with lore
The Namekian situation is interesting to say the least. Makes you wonder what happened for them to go to Namek. I believe Kais are born from some divine tree. I can't remember what determines if they're Kaiōshin or Evil though.
6:00 I like the idea that they used Majin Buu as a way to break the fusion, I'm not to thrilled on the explanation because originally I thought it was the Majin Magic that defused Vegito but I could be remembering wrong or made up head-cannon without realizing.
7:34 I can understand that sentiment but it does bring back the (Daima) Piccolo or "Demon King Piccolo" full circle and that they could originally be demons "the pointy ears" later in the episode.
9:09 LMAO although I couldn't get over the Beast Gohan Tall hair look which is funny. So if this is supposed to be another retcon or is it supposed to be another Timeline? I hope they make that more clear in the future episodes.
9:47 - 10:45 I thought that was funny, "Hmm this is going to be Tough" Instantly locate and summons all of them. LMAO "Tough" sure buddy. The biggest surprise was that yeah he was able to "revive" the dragon balls anyways despite being stone. It's a little disingenuous having an antagonist that can do everything off rip, like I understand that they're thousands of years old and had made a game plan in order to retrieve them but there was no respite or difficulty gaining the dragon balls at all. I was a little miffed because Dende was standing there doing nothing the whole time (maybe being so flabbergasted on what this new Namekian could do) but he could have called the Z fighters telepathically like "Hey some guys from the Demon realm showed up and are trying to use the dragon balls." but that would ruin the whole point of the story if they stopped them then and there. Don't take this as "Oh, I'm hating on this" because regardless I still love seeing a new story unfold and where it goes from here. As fan it's fine to poke holes in the plot points but that doesn't mean it's "unenjoyable". again I'm still happy to see new content.

Finally: RIP Akira Toriyama The GOAT of All Anime (not that Dragon Ball is better or worse than the others but without him none of this would happen) in his final moments He Prepared another Dish before he could Finish cooking. I believe in Toyotarou it must be very hard on him to have all this weight and responsibility now (Obviously he's not alone). Best Wishes and I know as long as they stay true to the meaning of Dragon Ball everything will be fine!
My thoughts on it were Glorio and the Dr. Lady is the answer to Towa and Mira. Honestly surprised me how interested I found myself being in this, I'll be honest I was a Daima skeptic.

I always didn’t like the retcon of the Vegito having the time limit and liked the head canon that Majin Buu’s magic body undos the Kai’s magic…. But that’s canon in this series so chilling
But the namekian coming up and just undoing all the rules for the dragonballs. The characterization of Mr Popo giving up even though he held his own against Trunks and Goten to make sure they didn’t act out too much, so to see him just offering them a sandwich is weird.
I also don’t know how they’re going to keep this entertaining with everyone being kids considering that was a low point of GT… but it looks funny so I’ll let it rock

It was Porunga that unfused Kibito. Buu's innards having the ability to defuse a portara isn't UNTRUE, that's just not how Kibito originally unfused. Even in the Super manga they mention using the dragon balls

@@ReneGade405 it´s not a contradiction tho...Vegito shortened his time limit in super by going blue while in dbz they only defused once they were inside buu and undone their barrier...both things can cause a defusion without being a contradiction
@@ReneGade405 I wouldn’t really count that as a contradiction just more of an extra reason. And if The super movies aren’t canon to the super anime then I don’t think this would count.

I loved the first ep so much. I haven't seen dragon ball in years ( stopped at Goku Black arc in Super) and it's good to be back watching. I'm actually glad Toriyama decided to go into more demon stuff in dragon ball, from the first ep it's already so much new details that add to the world building.
I've been a hater of Daima since seeing trailers, and your review of it makes it sound so incredibly whack. Gonna pass on this I think. It sounds super lame, especially with the Namekian retcon.
Its not exactly a retcon, after all in DB Demon King Piccolo was quite literally called "Demon King"
so we just not gon' talk about how Gomah out here rocking a Pride Trooper uniform? and how the whole dynamic with Gomah and Degusu is a lot like Pilaf, Mai and Shu? for that matter does that mean that Pilaf is also originally from the Demon Realm too?
