Very nice work. Tu travailles vraiment toujours bien. Mon collègue utilise Seesaw et j'hésite encore car j'aimerais utiliser aussi Flipgrid pour du live. Quels avantages trouves-tu que Seesaw t'apporte en éducation physique? De l'excellent travail encore une fois! ;o))

Hey David! There were three main reasons why I started using Seesaw:
First off, I already maintained digital portfolios for my students in Google Drive. Seesaw allowed me to do this in a way that kept the kids engaged in the process.
Second, we have a mix of in-school learners as well as at home learners. Planning activities in Seesaw allowed me to reach all students regardless of where they were learning from.
Finally, Seesaw is being used by the classroom teachers. Using it in physical education made everything simpler for parents at home. Fewer systems = fewer headaches.
I hope that answers your question!

Hi Joey, serious question here. You teach in Canada, why do you use SHAPE America outcomes?

Hi Derek! Good question, here's a long answer:
When I arrived at my school in 2013, I was introduced to a pretty robust professional development program. One of the aims of the program that year was to take each progression of learning (i.e. student learning outcome) from the Quebec Education Program (QEP), analyze it, and map it out across all grade-levels at the elementary level. When they showed us what the finish product could look like, it looked exactly like the layout of SHAPE America's GLOs. Since that document had just been published and was more modern than the QEP, I presented it to my school as an alternative set of outcomes for our students. I had to do the work to prove that skills/concepts from the QEP were covered in SHAPE's GLOs and make a few small modifications but, ultimately, my school approved my proposal that we adopt SHAPE's standards and GLOs as a student learning outcome map instead of having to completely reinvent the wheel. I hope that helps!

@@ThePhysicalEducator Thanks for the explanation. Awesome that your school was on board for adopting the SHAPE America outcomes. Here in Manitoba, it would be a different story.
