I replaced my CV carbs with Murrays, I received them in 24 hours because I lived in the same state. Bolted them on and the bike screamed like a banshee and rode like a bat out of hell. He uses these softer spongy filters that do not interfere with the battery because they're squishy
Could you do a walkthrough of your build- Anything that isn’t stock cb750? I’m new to the vintage bike space and want to learn more about cafe racer mods.
Man it’s been a minute since I had the bike so it’s tough to say for sure but if I remember correctly the petcock I bought to replace it didn’t need one
When I rebuilt my CB750's carbs, I used WD40 to lube the parts as well. For example the cylinders. Only issue is high idle for a high speed ride for a little while - what kind of issues did you have? - btw: How Much for the new kit? - Thanks !
How 2 carbs can work better than 4, you are pulling out 4 x 28 = 112 and put in 2 x 34 = 68, almost half of the air which means the fuel is half, the power is half. Am I wrong?
I’m no expert! All I know is old carbs even with professional tuning the bike didn’t run well. After adding dual carbs with a better intake manifold the bike does run and runs better than it did and that’s good enough for me! As far as whether it’s mathematically better I’ll let you be the judge and try it on your own bike! Also I like your mustache
Just bought these carbs. Bolted them on and I’m getting some of the same problems you were having with the revs hanging a bit but when I blip the throttle they drop again. I’m still using the stock throttle tube sine the quick throttle I ordered was damaged in the mail. Was the issue with yours in the way you routed the cable? How did you fix it?
You can use the stock housing if you cut a small slit in the divider between the two holes for the cable to nestle in, and use the other hole (since the stock housing has 2 holes) that will take up a ton of slack in the throttle cable if your quick turn was damaged. Kinda hard to explain but I can go into more detail if your confused! As for routing the most important thing is to make sure the spot where the cables go from 2 into 1 is all clicked together and secured so it can unclip itself as this is a pretty good stick point
Once those issues were solved I’m very happy with the bike and carbs, update video coming next week! If you need I’ll throw a clip in on my throttle modification to work around using the stock housing
I actually wasn’t aware of that mod! My main priority was to simplify the bike for the future owner and go from 4 carbs down to 2 that are a bit more common and less daunting to tackle. Plus the fact that they come jetted and synced helped with quick install. I’ll have to look up the method you spoke of for when I get another cb!
I paid forty bucks for the Motorcycle MD videos on rebuilding the quad carbs. Bike now runs like new.

Yeah, have a buddy with the same bike. I’ll have to let him know about these carbs.

just type in cafe racer time lapse and absorb all the info like a sponge
Murray is the GOAT
How did you deal with the no vacuum port for the petcock?

Aside from some throttle cable routing issues they have been great so far! I believe my kit was like $600 or something

@@billsfabworks3188 My math was wrong, I took in consideration the diameters while I should compare surfaces. The difference is less, about 25% less.

That would be sick!! Thanks man! Looking forward to the update video.
Where did you get those breather filters for the motor?
eBay! Just search 12mm air filter and it should come up!
How long did it take for these carbs to ship?
I received mine in 3 days. I in Sarasota
How has the speed improved?
Speed seems to have improved quite a bit! Still working out some kinks
Those are Ken’s carbs , from cycle X.
Actually no, Ken’s carbs are for SOHC not DOHC
Where did you get your seat?
@21stbreakdown eBay my dude! It was like $50.00 or something cheap
Why did you not just knife edge conversion to the butterfly butterfly valves ? ReJet the carbs and advance ignition timing 5 degrees .
