In Lucky One, Lay has more lines and Chanyeol is the one who doesn't have much line and don't have solo scenes.
There is a reason for it. Maybe Chanyeol doesn't suit for the concept or his voice doesn't fit the song.
Also Lay has many solo activities in China so he barely appear on music shows.
So other members have to redistribute his part and change the choreos.
It would be more easy and fair for other members if his part isn't that big.I don't mean it's good but it's unavoidable for the situation.

Well Xiumin and Sehun always has less lines but they never missed Exo activities and in Ex'act this time they have more than before, in 2015 honestly Lay was never with them so i dont think its unfair, in exchange when the repackage (Lotto) came out he has way more lines than the other two

Lay is the first Chinese person to create their own studio in SM. Because he is valuable to SM. He is the only Chinese member left now and without him, they will lose a lot of Chinese fans and in the future, lose recognition in China. Why? China is a market with a lot of potential SM wants to keep earning money from this area. Remember back then when hangeng left SJ? At that time super junior m with sorry sorry was super popular not just in the kpop crowd but everyone knew the dance. But after he left their popularity really decreased in China because there was no popular Chinese member.
Even before lay created his studio, he was pretty popular in China, he could've left and would be successful because he has connections in Chinese networks. Yet he stayed and really contributed to exo.
Yes right now, he is not too active in group activities. However, because of him, more people in China will know the group exo even if they do not Stan them exo will have way less anti fans than before.
Ik my friends know Exo because of Lay and it surprised me. They said he knows him from "go fighting" (Chinese variety show and y'all need to watch it it's funny af) and their whole family loves Lay. I'm so proud of my bias. He's such a hard working person and with the activities he has in China and Korea he's handling it pretty well. If I was in his case I would just die from tiredness. Maybe Lay didn't want a lot of lines this comeback cause he knows he's not going to be around a lot. Without lay, the atmosphere is sad and they seem lacking. So if Lay didn't have much lines, someone can easily make up for it. And that's what's best for the group.

Everytime I listened to Chinese version of exo’s songs, I’m like omg how can these man be so talented..,.they can sing in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English and they can slay in every language
People keep saying why do Chinese members keep leaving and how Chinese people always 'leave for money'. Look, Lay is here staying in the group and not going for the money and supporting his brothers, he is keeping to his words 'we are one'. Yes, it's true that Lay has his own personal studio in China and is doing variety shows and dramas in China but he still has to give SM a big part of his income. Lay has make is way into the Chinese market and honestly, he can do so much better and so much more if he left the group and focus on his career in China but is he leaving? No. He's not leaving. The reason why Chinese members keep leaving is because of this. This is a song in mandarin and a Chinese members get two lines. TWO FUCKING LINES. Kris and Tao used to get one lines or two lines in songs and maybe not even have a proper line in K versions. How do you expect them to still stay when people like Kris who trained for 7 years, not knowing whether he's going to debut and when he does, he get two lines in a song(except raps) and would always be placed at the back while performing live. See how well he's done in China and even starred in Hollywood films, would he be doing that if he stayed? I hate it when people say stuff like "Lay only focus on his career in China and doesn't even do EXO stuff anymore." Excuse me, how dare you say that. Yes, Lay did spend a lot of time in China filming and doing variety shows but he's trying so hard to keep up with both EXO and himself. Let me tell you Lay’s schedule and after this you wouldn’t dare say he doesn’t try. It started off in May. On May 5th, he flew back from Beijing to Gimpo. Then on the 9th, he flew from Incheon to Shanghai. Then on the 13th he went from Shanghai back to Korea. On the 18th he flew from Incheon to Beijing to attend conference, then on the 20th (the following day) he flew back to Seoul. On the 23h he flew from Incheon to Xiamen and from Xiamen to Shanghai on the 25th. On the 28th from Hongqiao to Seoul. Then in June, on the 5th, he flew from Seoul to Shanghai to attend conference that is held on the 6th. Then on the 7th he went back to Korea. If he has so many conference to attend, why would he go back to Korea so often? It’s because EXO comeback has a lot of planning and practicing to do. That tight schedule is not something a normal person could deal with. SM need to change, and SM need to appreciate the effort Lay is putting into EXO. We’ve already lost three members, we couldn’t afford to lose more.

But now, as I rewatch this I'm starting to notice that they divided the lines and screentime up evenly between KOREAN members, (I mean at one point, ya boy Xiuminne was at the front of the dance line, and even Sehun got to get his little rap in!), but Lay still ended up with less than the overall majority in spite of. For own his health and wellbeing, I wish he would leave Exo. I'm so proud of him for showing that he loves his brothers and his fans, and it makes me even prouder to see how much time and effort he's putting in to prove just that, but I feel like his love isn't being reciprocated by Exo. They always have acted indifferent towards Lay, and he doesn't deserve one bit of that. I wish that he would put himself and his health first, he deserves a peaceful existence...more than anyone else in Exo.

I'm an Exo-L and I'm also a Xingmi and i'm been a Xingmi for a really long time, I know how SM treat Lay and all the Chinese members. They always bias the Famous ones( Famous in Korean ones) and left out the other member.That's just a fact, there are nothing we can do, Instead of complaining about the lines distribution, even though our precious Lay doesn't have a lot of lines we should replaying nonstop the MV and shower them with support and love. . No EXO-M didn't fall apart SM literally f**ked up a GREAT thing. EXO-M was FABULOUS, but for some UNGODLY reason SM did not see that, or did not want to see that, because I feel they did not want EXO-M to become bigger than EXO-K. You see it now. The EXO-K members are featured much more in the videos than the former EXO-M members. Chen is OUTSTANDING, but yet has to always play second fiddle to Baekyun. Not that Baekyun is not good, but there are others who should be featured also.
I realised that the Chinese lyrics are much better this time. Back then in 'call me maybe', the lyrics just didn't make sense and they were kind of shallow. This one is so much better

Hi! I am also a fan of LAY so don't get me wrong, I just want to clarify LAY's line problem that everyone is talking about.
Currently LAY is having a lot of activities such as dramas and movies in China, and considering the fact he is also a solo singer, I think there is a reason why SM only gave him two lines. When the ex-members quit EXO, SM had a hard time managing the lines for their old songs such as MAMA and Overdose (especially the Chinese version), so LAY and other Korean members had to split the lines. What resulted in was some Korean fans criticized LAY's Korean pronunciation and the fact he got the rapping lines when EXO performed in China (and plus there's a period of time that LAY was always absent, EXO fans, I hope you knew that) on the other hand it was really hard for SM to redistribute all the lines to members. So I guess it is because LAY has too much personal activities, giving LAY a fewer lines will make the other members easier to perform without changing the whole distribution of the song. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying giving LAY only two lines is a good thing, I also want my bias to get more lines, but I think I have to wait until LAY is fully putting all his time into EXO :)
I really like you because you said this so nicely, but (though I do agree with some of your points) this the Chinese version. Truthfully that's all that needs to be said, it's actually a joke how little he got in this version, like he's actually Chinese and Korean members are getting A LOT more lines then him. Do not get me wrong I adore the others just as much as Yixing but I'm not too pleased with SM on this one.
Actually it's fine when he's not singing that much in Korean, he may not able to perform that much in Korean so he got less part, I am totally fine with this. But I also want to mentioned that this is the first time the members sing the same part in both version and most of the time they make the Korean version first then the Chinese version right? In this practice, I can't see lay would have more lines in future comeback even in the Chinese version because the parting is now based on the Korean version and lay is not a native Korean speaker! That's what I worry about.

Well we all know he was filming, but he is the only Chinese member left. It doesn't matter that there's still Xiumin and Chen left. There's been no Exo m since Luhan, Tao and Kris left. SM prioritized their Korean members over the Chinese ones. And yes Lay is becoming successful and he's very busy, but we think it's unfair because he is the only Chinese member left and he should get more lines. We don't want him to leave Exo just like the other three. It might have tired him if he had more lines yes, but he always smiles when he's singing his own part and it disgusts us how SM will give him so little, especially when he deserves more.

Usually I really dislike when artists release songs in different languages. I always feel the original is the best, but I actually really like this version too. I’m impressed that Chanyeol’s verse still sounds so great, rap is harder to convert. Whoever did the translations did a really great job of keeping the original feel of the song.
