Skream has won dubstep Dj of the year AND!! Dubstep Producer of the year. One of the first Artists to make dubstep and he is still the king of dusbtep.. He truly is a legend.
u right bro. when dusbtep was born in uk, london, croydon it was nothing like skrillex. lets get back to the roots when dubstep was dup-bass/wobble & step-drums. im lighting up my joint for this artists who can still evolve without getting into commercial page of dubstep history.
@ScottiesVlog Right! Skream didn't invent dubstep, but he is the reason dubstep is so hugely popular today. He revolutionized the genre with his influential beats, and set a precedent for any producer after him.
Probably the tenth time i've commented this track, always know its gonna be a good day when it starts with this tune and i light one up. Good Morning World, blaze one, with love all the way from new zealand
I'm running with GSG, this is definitely dubstep. Kick on the one, snare on the three, two step hihat pattern, prominent sub-bass....dubstep. Not the modern brosteppy interpretation of dubstep, but dubstep nonetheless.
There is some serious vibes coming from the dubstep scene, if you just search properly. You gotta find the diamonds in the rough. Sleeper, Soap Dodgers, District, Killawatt, Thelem, Core, Compa, J:Kenzo, ARtroniks, and Catacombs are perfect examples of this. :) Look them up!
@michaelodope I totally agree with you. This is one of the tracks, that brought me to dubstep. absolutely great production. love the horns! maybe they disliked because of the picture
one of the few old school dubstep artists that i haven't seen, and he's my favorite producer of them all. such a shame your tour bus caught on fire :( before i could see you rinse some dubs
@lazylongboarder 420, 4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) refers to consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture.
i'm not a big fan of skrillex style dubstep either but the genre is evolving and heading in many new directions. the style that skrillex does is just one of the few that have gone mainstream. if everyone just made one style of dubstep forever, wheres the originality in that? don't hate, just find and enjoy the ones u enjoy like Sam said
True that Skream is a part of the team that shaped dubstep but Dubstep has been here(in my eyes) since like 1999 on artful dodger's bo-selecta (Notice the half time beat)
Actually, Mr. Skream quite pioneered dubstep with the UKG he made back in 2000-2003. But I agree with your point, dubstep has become some sort of heavy-metal poppy shit that everyone wants to make now. Every single new "dubstep" artist nowadays wants to be AND makes tunes sounding all like Skrillex. Nothing original nowadays.
@Falc1NL Here's a tip. If your joint ever smokes up one side lick your finger and rub it on the burn to cover it in saliva. It may not sound appealing but it can save a spliff.
Show me, please. I'm all ears. For real, I'd love to hear a dubstep producer bringing something new to the table, but I don't know where to find what I'm looking for.
@Falc1NL i roll em the same way, you ever smoked an "american" joint ? they always bitch about how we roll them with tobacco but i wonder which are better, our dutch joints or theirs
There's good upcoming producers mate. Youngsta, Seven, LX One, Kryptic Minds, Kahn. And I got way more where that came from, in non-deep dubstep. Subfiltronik, Akira, Hizzleguy, Efflex, Vermin, BadKlaat, Megalodon, Requake, Coffi, 50 Carrot, Phex and many many more.
You generally only have to listen to one of an artist's tracks to find out whether or not they make original/unique-sounding stuff. You can weed out a lot of stuff if you automatically ignore UKF and things like "Best Dubstep Ever [Mindfuck Drops]" to make searching easier.
i used to take my time on each jay but i realized that eventually i just got faster at rolling and more efficient. Baseball bats is my standard, i can roll em blindfolded and it will still come out strait.
@v3ck1n When did I say he invented dubstep? I said and I will quite "he was one of the first artists to make dubstep".. Because he simply was one of the first artists to start making dubstep or it was more known as dub back then and im taking about the proper oldschool shit.. The first ever dubstep award was a few weeks ago and skream won dj and producer of the year as I said previously..
I guess where the kick falls is determined by the bpm; will be 1/3/1/3 at 70, but 1/1/1/1 at 140. I think I'm just babbling now though lmao. But yes, I like dubmatix. The whole reason I got into dubstep was cause of my immense love of dub. For me, nothing bounces like a dub or dubstep show
There IS plenty, phrased my point wrong. What I meant to say was that the larger part of brand-new amateur producers are coming out all sounding the same: like Skrillex. Don't get me wrong, there's a shitload of producers still keeping it big (Digital Mystikz, Kromestar, Deep Medi gang, to name a few), just that most of the amateur artists are sounding identical to Skrillex's music.
my friend made a piece out of a carrot that reminded me of hulk holgan, because he made indented eyes and a moustache on it, just to blaze to this song, twice. happy 4/20!!
i count the kick on all 4 beats the most time. snare on 3 is in reggae same shit.. delay effects, and yes, prominent bass is all what a great DUB needs.. check out tunes from dubmatix, the bro of dub.
@Falc1NL Haha, sound. And there I was thinking I was passing on my pearls of wisdom. I was not aware of that. I've tried it before but it's not worked every time. Now I know why.
@Falc1NL There are people actually doing that, thought you did as you were talking about roaches falling out of your joints which doesn't happen ever if you roll a proper joint..
Just barely found this song playing on a random radio station at work. Old school dubstep is still alive!!
Skream has won dubstep Dj of the year AND!! Dubstep Producer of the year.
One of the first Artists to make dubstep and he is still the king of dusbtep..
He truly is a legend.
this is what dubstep was all about.
still is my friend ;)
damn youre right
Yessir!
No amount of 'filth' will ever give you the feeling that chilled dub does when you listen to it. So beautiful, love this one.
The origins of dubstep date back to the late 90's. The term dubstep came into common use around 2002.
just smoked a binny to this tune, went down a beaut, peace skream

u right bro. when dusbtep was born in uk, london, croydon it was nothing like skrillex. lets get back to the roots when dubstep was dup-bass/wobble & step-drums. im lighting up my joint for this artists who can still evolve without getting into commercial page of dubstep history.

@ScottiesVlog Right! Skream didn't invent dubstep, but he is the reason dubstep is so hugely popular today. He revolutionized the genre with his influential beats, and set a precedent for any producer after him.

BTW, BIG UP for true DUB step.
One of em man... eryday all day :D
one of the few old school dubstep artists that i haven't seen, and he's my favorite producer of them all.
such a shame your tour bus caught on fire :( before i could see you rinse some dubs
Why do people always have to bring up Skrillex on good old classical beats like this, just shut up and enjoy the music.
01:56 is beautiful
@lazylongboarder 420, 4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) refers to consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture.
Cool & different, thanks for sharing.
Deep Sweet Brain Killa =) props from portugal
Skream, how can you ever be tired of this?
@Falc1NL
you place the roach AFTER rolling the joint ?
nice track mate..very chilled 4 sure..

100% Dubstep my friend. 100% awesome.
@Falc1NL like it matters how it looks, isnt the inside the thing that makes it?
@Falc1NL i roll em the same way, you ever smoked an "american" joint ? they always bitch about how we roll them with tobacco but i wonder which are better, our dutch joints or theirs
powerful and optimistic sound !
There's good upcoming producers mate. Youngsta, Seven, LX One, Kryptic Minds, Kahn. And I got way more where that came from, in non-deep dubstep. Subfiltronik, Akira, Hizzleguy, Efflex, Vermin, BadKlaat, Megalodon, Requake, Coffi, 50 Carrot, Phex and many many more.

back when people started to say hip hop was dying dubstep was brewing
This sounds best listened very loud.
Depends if it's done right. I love Rusko's tracks as much as any of these old school dubstep tracks
@DnB and Psy Production Not all Rusko is by lfo, I mean about Roma for example, a dubstep by Uk dub style.
my friend made a piece out of a carrot that reminded me of hulk holgan, because he made indented eyes and a moustache on it, just to blaze to this song, twice. happy 4/20!!
how does this only have 4,664 views?
4,20 song lenght 😏
So true, never filter your good ole THC man. And hit the bong if you roll crappy spliffs like that, you might be better at packing like i am.
4:20 minutes.. niiiice XD
i count the kick on all 4 beats the most time. snare on 3 is in reggae same shit.. delay effects, and yes, prominent bass is all what a great DUB needs.. check out tunes from dubmatix, the bro of dub.

@SKANKI5M what do u think it means skank?
@Falc1NL There are people actually doing that, thought you did as you were talking about roaches falling out of your joints which doesn't happen ever if you roll a proper joint..
