Though Vaishnavi managed it well without mishaps, she wavered here and there, and was quite low on steam. She actually sounded better in C; should have stuck to it. Oddly named round: "Kaetka koodaadha songs" is misleading and mischievous. In Tamil grammar, it is called "Vanja pugazhchchi aNi", meaning, pugazhvadhu pola igazhdhal or igazhvadhu pola pugazhdhal, both of which should not be done for the sake of keeping the appreciation GENUINE. At least, after umpteen years, the channel thought of doing an exclusive "Ilayaraja songs" round, though they kept it "after" last week! It is ONLY such songs that will hone a crooner's skill. Also, Ilayaraja's songs are like bread and butter for listeners. So, it is too EASY to spot the errors. Ilayaraja's music is like an MRI scanner that reveal the pros and cons of a singer / musician. So, extra care / practice is required to render them well.
