New ways of tying the importance of the past to modern times are important for keeping the flame alive. The finest Japanese swords are undoubtably some of the most beautiful objects made by the hand of man, and it is likely that this will forever remain the case - but times change and the context of these objects in society changes with them. I'm grateful for Mrs. Kimiko Kamata's wonderful vision and dedication to bringing wider understanding and interest in swords to a greater audience through her work. Japanese swords and their associated metalworks deserve greater appreciation.

I was surprised by the lack of information that the Japanese population has on a historical and artistic asset such as traditional blades.
I have great respect for the craftsmanship of your nation, and particularly in the enormous tradition of creating swords of elegance and character. Thank you very much for the effort to disseminate these concepts.
