Currently running Odyssey BROC 2.25 at 65 psi. Since you asked, there are flatland specific tires out there. The Odyssey Frequency-G, Ares A-Class, Motel Works MB25, Panaracer HP406 and others. Keep up the good work! 20% crew!
Excellent video!! I'm totally new to folding tires, but nevertheless bought a pair to replace my 16 year old tires. You've gone through a very detailed explanation comparing folding vs wire bead tires. I've bought 700 x 35C tires primarily for urban street use. I've yet to install them. Looking forward to riding with the new tires ( & new inner tubes).
@@Brant_Moore I watch a lot of videos on RUclips and have for some time. When I need information, I like it done well and done right. I have become demanding with my content so when I see something I consider good, it’s worth mentioning and liking to keep it alive with the all mighty algorithm. Have a great weekend.
Hey Brant! I’m running folding Bsd Donnastreet 2.3 front back on 80 psi and mostly street riding. Thinking of lowering to 60 psi to get softer feel on bunny hops and also to lessen impact on my wrists...😅
I run Odsy Broc tyre 2.4 at 60-75psi But i have to say that i fall in love with my old tyres (Eclat mirage 2.35), perfect balance of tire size, weight and rubber compound
I have used Fit T/A, Animal X T-one, Eclat fireballs, Flybike Rampera and Merritt. I have blown most of the Fit T/A on the sidewalls but I still like them, the Fireballs are grippy and last long when running brakeless.. On my next purchase I would like to try Subrosa's and BSD's.
Sprained my wrist pretty bad almost a week ago trying a hop spin? Not a regular bar spin but just lifting my front end up and bar spinning. Needless to say I fell backwards on my ass and took most the weight on my hand. I was able to ride a bit today. Can't hop but was able to practice some manuals. Weather is perfect for riding right now so I'm kinda sad that I'm not 100%. Be safe!
I run the Stranger Crux 2.40 tires they have a max of 110 psi but I usually ride them around 40-50-55 psi...They seem kinda heavy sometimes when I bunny hop or in 180s but they actually have held up for 7 months of use and are still going!!!(I will change them in a week or too with some (DSI SRI-30 20x2.30)which actually look like 2.40 2.50 tires when you seem them in person)
Nice video Brant there is quite some useful information in this. Also I like to run the BSD Donnastreet tries in 2.4s front and rear at 40 to 45 psi for when I'm riding heavy street but pump them up to 50 or 60 psi if I'm just cruising around looking spots.
Thank you! I’m curious what difference you notice on things going from 50-60 to 40-45 for heavy street? I never let air out of my tires so I have no experience there and am curious if it could help
@@Brant_Moore Thanks for the reply yes it can help if you don't have a car or can't get a ride to the spot or skatepark. 50-60 makes getting around town easier and makes your bike feel less sluggish on the road so you get less tired and save energy. If you use your BMX for long distance transportation like I do. Then for heavy street I drop to 40-45 just to help with the wrists for big drops and gaps. Also personal preference I feel like the lower PSI helps with my control on a brakeless setup.
Bought the Merritt Phantom tires ( Brandon Begin signatures ) and they have been my favorite tires I’ve rode and I tried A LOT of different tires they are super light they felt like i was riding balloons 🎈when I first put them on ( I run them at 60 psi )
im between the cinema williams tires and the phantom how is the grip on the phantom? i see thats so slick and i think its a thing who need to worry can you tell more of the tire? to see what should i buy
Good video man, love watching your channel. I ride bsd donnastreets in Kevlar bead foldable in 2.3. I ride mostly skateparks but still do grinds and stuff
brant thanks alot ! do you think it is smart to set up a wire bead tyre on rear and kevlar on front, also having biger size on front just to save some rotational weight on front but still have a decent support for street bangers with a wire beaded tyre on the back since it takes the first impact ? i feel like its a good idea but the only problem is the front takes lateral impacts and kevlar is weaker, so is the idea worth it?
Thanks for the video dude very informative & a lot of people don't know about the wire bead vs. Folding tire I had no idea. I remember when I changed my 🏔️ 🚲 🛞 I was like why the fuck won't this tire fold that I took off but the one I just bought is all floppy 💾 lol 🤔 now i understand

Same but 55psi and 2.4
Merritt Options 2.35 running an average of 80psi. Tried to throw the Phantom 2.5s but not a match with brakes 😄
Been waiting for this one. Thanks Brant. Running 2.35 demolition momentums at 90psi.

3:09 I swear by the Animal GLH tyres if your a heavy street rider grinding ruff stuff 👍
Wish they'd bring the asm tire back !!

Video posted as I was putting on my shin pads to go ride for the first time since I hurt my wrist. I’ll watch this first then go attempt to shred.

I'm running 20x2.10 CST Vault tires, living that 75 psi life
i am planning to buy tires. which is better? shadow valor 2.4 or vandalz 2.4? which is wider? thank you sir.
Cant really say without having both in front of me and pumped up
So the folding tires you can run tubeless?
It’s possible on Alienation’s TCS rims, but their tires work better for it I believe
@@Brant_Moore oh ok so my Merritt slidewalls r better with a tube I'm assuming cause I got merritt battle rims idk if they r good for running tubeless
Fly rampera 2.25 rear and fly ligera 2.4 front 90 psi both
They made a mike aitkens level one fit that had 4.45 tires on it
LIES !!!!
@@stevenroark6727 pssst I had one was gonna keep the tires but they wouldn’t fit on any other bike I had
4.45 do u know how big that is ???? Tires don’t go bigger than 2.5 on bmx bikes I think u mean 2.45 ......... they never made a 4.45
@@stevenroark6727 oh yeah 2.45 🤦♂️
2.2 in maxxis holy rollers at 55 psi. Guess what I ride. Trails, with a bit of bowl here and there

Jeeeez yea that’s a bit but at least there’s tech built in to justify it
@@Brant_Moore for sure man
Oh yes flatland tires usually 120 psi and kevlar folding to be super light.
I have kevlar 1.6 for flatland. Best for spinning.
Sunscreen if going outside.
Dipw vid but this topic is touched on to much theres no difference in feelers except that ur tires can get popped from a pebble
