I record it and so want my grandchildren to watch with me. It was such a grand depiction of real life of my own upbringing although I was born 1965, we were a bonded family that supported one another and depicted values in life. I have teased my own husband (36 yrs) that he's my John Walton!
I saw this absolutely captivating play a couple months ago in Waterbury CT. I was devastated that Richard Thomas ( whom I have always just adored) would be replaced by the understudy, but the entire production was executed to perfection. I attended the performance with my 26 year old son and it was an exquisite bonding experience.
HA! Last night I drove Mr. Thomas from the Hanover Theatre to his hotel in Worcester Mass! He was performing this show and finishing it this weekend! What a profoundly nice man. I only had him in the car for about five minutes but he was super nice. He even asked if I was driving him tonight. Unfortunately I did not get the ride tonight.

I went to this this afternoon!! I wish I could have met him! He’s one of my favorite actors.
