My god, this is by far the easiest to follow tutorial I've seen, and leaves you feeling like you can do so much by the 5 minute mark.

Edit: there was one part about 3 minutes in where you started creating the wing shape that left me confused, but a quick google on what you said about editing solved that for me.

You're very good at this, making it look so easy. So I gave it a go, and finding even the very basics of simply rotating the camera around the character to be way more difficult than it looked.. I guess knowing the basics of Blender is necessary.

How do i trace the wing
when i pull up the pallete and i did all the steps it wont show up the color. it keeps it at white even when i put it at a dark and other colors. Please Help!
change the viewport shading settings. the colour is being added just your viewport shader settings wont be showing the texture
Uh so I think i figured out how to draw what i did is go to edit mode and i selected the whole square. Then right clicked and selected merge vertices at center. After, I clicked g to move it wherever i wanted and after that i just clicked e and started drawing
There's probably a faster way but that's what I did to delete the whole square 💀

Hey Sam, thanks so much for the tutioral! It's really easy to follow but I'm stuck on a couple of things. Firstly, when I try to merge the objects by using ctrl + J or even just selecting it from the objects tab at the top, one of the objects just dissapears. Another problem I have is the auto smooth feature, where I enable it but nothing happens, the last problem I have is the colouring, I do everything in the video but the 'project from view' option is darkened out and I can't enable it.

when i enable shadow to make my blender look like yours, it crashes, is enabling shadow necessary or just for looks?
just for looks :) its not great for performance so you can go without it if you cant run it!

This is sadly outdated, when putting collapsing a cube it doesn't work with "e" neither does pressing "M" for "At center" so theres gotta be an update for this in the future

this is so frustrating i followed your tutorial to a Tee and when it finally came to texturing it all went down hill my entire background turned black and even when trying to undo all of it, it still is the same, i honestly give up because this is so much time i spent today just to try and texture it and it all F up im done with this stupid sht

i selected a single vertice and i press e. this extrudes that vertice and once that vertice is where i want it i left click.
