Whale Shark Encounters in Seychelles

It's that time of the year again!
These are the largest known fish species. They are slow moving and grow up to lengths of 18 metres.
Please keep in mind that touching these creatures can be harmful to them. It can disturb the protective layer of mucus on their skin which is important for several reasons.
Primarily, it helps the animal protect itself from bacteria and parasites, that are often unable to permeate the mucus layer.
Mucus also assists wit respiratory function, whether the species of fish breathes through gills or not and it also helps the creature swim efficiently.
