Rabbit snaring using fence and peg snares, watch as phil helps control the rabbits damaging woodland, grass and crop fields part 3. www.thehuntinglife.com
if people don't like these kind of video's i don't understand why you search for them and watch them, by the way mate good video i hoping to have a crack at this down my rugby club, full of em
Feral rabbits are classed as invasive pests who destroy crops world wide costing billions, and like pigeons in the uk, they get culled for controlled breeding to lessen the damage they do, and if u read "TheHuntingLife " comments below his video you will see they are doing it for just that reason, and if they make a stew out of them, then its a bonus, great video:)
Snaring is a art and you only get good with practice and a expert showing you. I have spoken to the likes of Glenn waters and warreners. Drying on a wire fence is quite easy try getting on there main runs out to the feeding grounds bit Harder old boy no room for error from pest controler Suffolk
im an air rifle man myself but have just bought 20mtr of snare wire as i alone canot controle the rabbit population and my boss (a farmer) said he wants them all gone . i wont be getting all but i will be doing my best . i harvest all i have shot and soon to be snared . i also give to the local older generation and they love it .
i prefer that if they are in the snare i wait for em to calm and take em out with my air rifle they dont tense up and the meat is perfect also cant go wrong with the recipe below me but i prefer my stew; vegetables, rabbit, pepper+salt, stock cube and lots of red wine the perfect stew
Not a clue, sorry, i do not have any experience with snaring but im sure there will be websites you can look for info, i use a .22LR when im rabbiting :), it allows precision shots at longer ranges but snaring is another option i may decide upon some point.
Wow, didn't know rabbits made sounds. Somewhat horrifying, but that's life. Guess you get used to it. Are the snares checked every day? How long can a rabbit stay on a snare till it's considered inedible?
that is some good snareing, use air rifle myself but wnat to get into snareing,, never seen snares set in mid-field always by ditches but never the less good stuff,,,
actually, what he's doing is grabbing the head and legs, turning the head to a 90 or so degree angle, and pulling the head and legs, this fractures the neck and kills the rabbit quickly.
Im a full time pest controller, been better if you made point about, markers when setting snares and livestock in areas, and most of all LIKE GLENN SAYS if you cant check them then dont set them!! but you have given others a demo, into what snaring is about....put 50 down and pick up 50...
me personally i think there is nothing better than hunting rabbits with my best mate with my air rifle well i have a few air rifles but wat i was saying is this does get the job done faster p.s do you have any rifles or shotguns? if so what make
Damn i hate that noise, i was out quail hunting and a jack rabbit jumped right up in front of me so i all did was quick draw and blew one back leg off man was it screaming.
nice idea, fucking rabbits dont want to make trails where im from so im gonna make a fence and some spots where they can run through.of course i'll have snare in those spots.
I'd love to buy this guy a beer! ;) Great videos, keep 'em coming! And for the granola eating treet hugging freaks that scour these videos posting BS afterwards. Why are you even looking at these videos knowing what they're about? You think your comments are gonna cause me to hand in my weapons? Not a chance! I think I'll go club a seal now. :)
Although this does not look humane, and in a way it isn't, it needs to be done. Trust me this is defiantly not the worst way to go as a rabbit. Foxes will eat rabbits alive and hawks and large birds will spear them with their talens and peck out their eyes. Besides, on a lighter note... rabbits taste good :)
@ksb188 - A hunter kills animals in order to eat them. Implicit within the word "hunter" is the idea of survival. Snares are a far better way to catch rabbits in a survival setting as they leave you free to conduct other activities. Hunting as you describe it, to me at least, is killing rabbits for the thrill of killing them. Which is not so much hunting as it is sport.
i dont think that this kind of killing makes you hunter ...i believe it makes you more looking like a killer instead of hunter ! i hope you go for real hunting once and discover the nice feeling of killing a rabbit :)
@MrSmudger687 Now now, no need for name calling, we can be civil. Yes the population will continue to grow but if you look at the median estimate population growth levels out in 2080 and then 10 years later starts a decline. The biggest X factor is Africa, as you can see by the charts there is a huge disparity. So what is with the dipshit comment? It was like you were normal then roid raged... I could be wrong but please show me, don't freak out.
By the way lads, the man on this video is probably one of the best snaremen in the country, I taught him well, isn;t that right phil ;)
I've never seen so many rabbits. We don't have them like that here in my part of the U.S.

I was wondering how you snared those rabbits out in the field, I recently bought snares myself and im looking for tips. Great video, cheers.
2:00: Wow, he did that one in a hurry. I've never heard a rabbit scream before.
@Blueblood1270 i completly agree, do you know what wire he is using
did you make the hole in the fence for the snare to fit into perfectly?
@flamedrag18,
Ah right, so is he putting them next to warren entry holes in the field?
A great video!

can u tell me how to find a rabbit run in a field
This is all good. My only worry is it’s 12-24 hours meat. It’s basically decomposing.
can you give me every single tip for sucsess with using snares plz?
What are you doing to kill the rabbit by hand? Does it take a lot of strength?
that is some good snareing, use air rifle myself but wnat to get into snareing,, never seen snares set in mid-field always by ditches but never the less good stuff,,,
I've just subbed nice work brother!
do u keep the rabbits u just keep throwing them
How do you kill the rabbit, looks like you grab it by the ears and legs and then pull?
Yes it was.
I've watched all three of these vids, and I got to ask: are all those rabs caught on the one property? Damn, thats a lot of rabs there, brother!
i set a snare but it didnt work
that one where you choked it for about a minit at 0:40 was cruel. shoud carry a axe with you that would be easy. where do you getbthe snare matirial?

@AstralDragoon if u grab one by its ears and fur around its ears and pull on its rear legs it will scream on command.
no, that was a bird, a woodcock;)
