Review - BOSS DA 2 Adaptive Distortion
HTML-код

• Review - BOSS DA 2 Ada...
His voice is so soothing.
STFU
Best demo Ive seen on YT of this pedal Harry. Was testing an EHX POG2 a few months back when the guy in the shop said 'This just came in' and passed it over. Bought it *and* the POG....Your vid really captures the DA2's strengths brilliantly. Its also great fun backing the distortion off and using it to drive an already OD sound, can get some killer lead tones that way. Guarantee anyone who buys this little (inexpensive!) beauty will not be disappointed. Just shh! Its our little secret ;)
great demo to point out how the string separation sounds so good. I've seen so many so called "demos" and "tests" of pedals but most of them are terrible. Whether you like this pedal or not, this dude gave a great demo. Showed me everything i needed to know.
Another great, well explained review of a product. I'm going to sub right now! Thank you Harry Maes.
Bought this one for my Roland JD-XI synth, after tested the ds-1, the DA-2 blows it out of the park. Nice distortion with no smudgy sound, love it.
Suitable for heavy metal?
love your reviews man, keep on!
I love this guys facial expressions while playing. He sure has lots of fun. Got this Pedal based on this review. Its great fun! :D
Man that is just BEAUTIFUL
I have bought one.. And i love it so much... It have a powerfull sound...
This pedal is calling my name, even tho no one else of you can hear it! Very fine demo Harry, thanks : )
Thanks Steve. It's a unique pedal indeed. I like it a lot on the neck pickup - has a great clarity there
yes, finally a distortion I can play with my strat neck pup!😎
Harry/ nice review - thank u
How does it compare to SD1 Waza ?
Starting out into my journey into the land of tube amps and have been wondering what pedal i might use for the style of play i do.I think i am certainly going out to try this little beasty
Well explained. Excellent coverage of the pedal settings. Thank you.
Good video. I really like the string definition from this stomp compared to other distortion pedals. But I also hear a lot of digital "fizz" as the gain goes up that's distracting. What's your take on that, Harry?
I agree about the fizz on higher gain settings.
Good to know I'm not imagining things...I still like the pedal, though. I picked one up and it I'm getting different crunch sounds that none of my other dirt boxes can do.
Was honestly loving the demo until the gain was set high. Sounds awful. The low gain sounds great.
This is coming from a guy that honestly doesn't really like BOSS pedals.
Like I said, the low stuff sounds amazing but the high distortion is unusable and awful. Sadly, that's how I feel about most of their high distortion pedals...
Please how is your amp set before the pedal is activated? Is everything flat?Thank You.
Best demo for me...now i know what distortion to buy aside from currently having a metal muff...
Hi! I've got a stupid question :*) I just started playing the guitar... I own a stereo amplifier, which I've attached to a dj-mixer. I am using the mixer to amplify the sound of course without distortions. So.. now I need a pedal, my teacher told me the BOSS DA2 is very good. If I buy it, will I need anything else to connect it or can I keep on using it through the mixer? I've no idea how to make it work!
I bought this pedal and I used this video for reference. mine sounds really good. I use it with a graphic equalizer though to add more gain.
For whats its worth i like this pedals tone..i cant stand heavy metal pedals..This one sounds great..thanks for the review..
Ok Harry. It's about time you showed us your own gigging rig. What's your setup? Great playing!
Excelent review. What amp are you using?
Axe Fx II
It's not possible to connect the Boss DA-2 to a mixer, you will need a extra jack cable.
Very nice review, Thank you so much!
and if I want a clean distortion?
Great playing and reminds me of a DS-1 that's been polished in the studio!
I'm going to use this for metalcore, what y'all think?
Please don't, it is disgraceful to let a such nice pedal be forced into that realm! Do not appoint the fine pedal for such submission, please! Examine your heart, and you will realize that I have told you the truth! This great pedal do not belong there. Nah just kidding, if you think and feel that you are prepared to give it a shot, than why not. For sure that pedal ain't bad at all.
Cool pedal, thanks for the demo!
Great review, boss products have great quality. Useful af
Ds-2Turbo or Da2?
I just picked up this pedal. But I think it sounds bad in the "metal territory" other than that it sounds amazing.
I use it at 3 o'clock for metal. Try pushing it with a compressor or a mild OD in the signal chain before it if you have them lying around. I boost mine with my compressor and it is awesome.
No no, it sounds too good in the metal terrortory : ) Bad joke i know!
Thanks
sounds like a marshall in a box
totally
+1 this is my current distortion pedal and i use a boss super overdrive to push it to high gain territory.
My first time of knowing this pedal even existed. Differently going to have to purchase one in the very, very near future!!!! Fabulous video much appreciated!!!👍👍👍👍👍
this would be a good distortion for an acoustic electric if you wanted to distort yours not too jumbled up
I'd like to hear this with an Ibanez 8-string, to get a sense of how it'd sound with extra lower range. :)
What guitar is that??
yamaha pacifica
Great review!
This made from where
Japan
@stringbender11672 Completely agree with you. No need to look for more vids. I'll definetly het this pedal.
and great "guitar faces" from you, Harry!!! XD
Not a huge fan of this pedal. At certain levels of distortion once I start palm muting, it gets a really weird "whishy" sound. And I've found that the volume level can swell once you change you pick attack intensity. I do love the tones you can get from it.
picking intensity should affect how loud the guitar is anyway
OK thanks! Bought & connected :)
Uuuh, there's a weird frequency there that sounds horrible. Like playing through a small stereo. Liked the low gain sounds best
what i like about this pedal is you can use it with a strat neck pup! nice n fat, as im aging i find myself playing heavy-tone solos less n less..., I doo have those tones in my ZOOM G2, but prefer bluesy jazzy stuff, this is like my DUDE...😎😎
Iwow I think this aid a good distortion this should be like called the next generation of the ditortion
Hahaha. Thanks brother. ;)
nice
His name is Heavy Mars? Cool.
Anyone out there tried throwing a chorus pedal in front of this thing? Guitar ---> chorus ---> Boss Da2 ---> Amp.
Just wonder what it would sound like lol.
Impossible to find in 2024..
Clarity!
Please when you demo pedals let us hear a clean sound first. Your "clean" sound is just as distorted as many overdrive pedals, itself. It doesnt help to understand what the distorsion pedal is really doing, if the "clean" signal is already crunchy!
MrC00lwind he does! 1:38
the power stack ST.2 is much better and make the same
it's scary when you stare at the camera while playing
I wanty. Me shred it.
harry maes is like 50 year old kid
Metal Core is way heavier 😎
この人カメラ目線面白すぎ
i dont like how he looks at the camera while playing
Imagine him rhythmically thrusting on top of you while doing the same
cbappa2 i did and now i'm scarred for life thank you
Ds-2Turbo or Da2?
Ds-2Turbo or Da2?
Héctor Jesús Colio Seseña It really depends man, if you have a cheap guitar, go for the DA-2, as it uses technology to enhance the distorted tone. The DS-2 just amplifies what your pickups are, so if you have a cheap guitar, it’s not guaranteed that the result is going to be pleasing. If you have a good guitar, you can pick up any of them, I’d go for the DS-2
