$1000 is more than enough to live in Nairobi. Not everyone wants to go to polo or club and drinks. You can get your kenyan girlfriend in your house and live modesty. $1k is 155,000 kshs, average salary in Nairobi 30k ksh per month. Not everyone wants to live the rich life, others just wanna connect to mother africa and its people. Peace.
@bellaolum9768 I get it. I am just tryna oppose that you shouldn't come if your budget is 130k monthly. You can live well with that if you a family guy.
Africans, don't fall for the bait. Don't pull each other down because a foreigner has an opinion. I'm proudly South African 🇿🇦, and I love and respect Kenya🇰🇪 I hope to visit one day
@AustonHolleman yes bait, what yall trying to achieve, you can tell from the title, you could have done a SA vs Kenya to weigh in the differences yall experienced not heard, and you could have simply given Kenya its flowers without bashing south africa, and it's not like where yall come from, is very peaceful between black people either
The truth is Xenophobia is rooted deeply in SA , and these are not foreigners in Africa. These are our brothers coming back home to their motherland . The land of their great grandparents.
I was in South Africa a few months ago. Objectively speaking, even with the crime and load shedding, South Africa remains the best country in Africa. South Africa has it all: it is a blend of all of the conveniences in the west and that African experience/culture/tradition. Edit: I also spent over 6 months in Europe. South Africa is better than many of those European countries.
@@joelkaben He is Lying 🤥 LoadShedding is Active in poorer neighborhoods depending on your location in SA and previously they used to tell you what time it happens but this time no warning‼️…
Theres a lot of Videos of Black Americans saying SA is better than Kenya, way more videos and I never seen Kenyans crying, they actually always agree. But now that they say Kenya is better than SA a lot of South Africans are offended. Let Kenya shine man. I’m South African and happy to hear some Americans prefer Kenya. That means they’re doing something good there. We need all of Africa to be developed so that people can scatter and not over populate one place. I can’t wait to visit Kenya ❤
😂 there was actually a black American couple FREEDOM CHASERS that got a lot of backlash from Kenyans for choosing to move to SA over Kenya. I think they deleted that video now. Anyways, we are not mad that they like Kenya more. We just don't like the way they (especially Auston that hasn't even been here) are portraying the country just for him to make money with his consultations and obviously for the views
Black Americans whove to SA Never do that why you lying? They never mention Kenya never mind comparing. We attract a certain class of black Americans that come to SA as compared to the rest of Africa. Is always BA in other African countries talking about SA and comparing the once who come to SA seem to not care much about the rest of Africa once they ger here, so dont lie or else take us to those videos were they doing this kind of content
I’m Kenyan but I know South Africa has way better infrastructure than Kenya. But there’s this human feeling you get immediately you step out of the plane in Nairobi that no other country can provide and that’s what makes Kenya special. I’m a Kenyan but I’m never able to have enough of Kenya every time I travel home.

South Africa is way better. 'Been to both places and I can tell you that. But, yeah, Nairobi has this feel of a homely small town; even in the big hotels. And they really mean it when they say "jambo". 😊
as a kenyan who lived in capetown for a few years, i never knew the colour of my skin is an issue until, then, SA is too racist, the white rules, then the colored because they are lightsking and black SA at the bottom, even at work its the same, soo shocking
Yup. That's the one thing that gives me pause about coming to SA. I live in the U.S., so I'm halfway trying to ESCAPE racism. That being said, I tend to believe that South African people (the black ones at least) will understand me and my worldview more since they actually have to live amongst their oppressor and face racism daily. Many other Africans are oblivious (and at times naive) about white people and racism. So seems like it could also be a point of connection that I wouldn't find in most of Africa. It would also be depressing as f*ck to see that in the Motherland. Part of me feels like that would defeat the purpose of goin to Africa...I'll definitely still visit SA one day though.
Happy you love Kenya and support you. kenya is great!❤ However, basing your decision on crime in SA is like saying you wont go to America because theres a lot of crime and violence in hoods/poor areas... This dynamic exists in SA, many people who live in suburba have never been robbed nor experienced the violence they see and hear about...🤷🏿♂️
This guy is not looking for a job lol. S.A is just flooded of people looking for opportunities and now putting pressure on resources and competing with the locals

Im a South African 🇿🇦who plans on relocating to Ghana 🇬🇭 i have this to say, if you base your opinion on South Africa based on Johannesburg, then 9 times out of 10 you will most certainly get it wrong. If you have never experienced limpopo, KZN, free State Mpumalanga rural western cape, Northern cape, Rural Eastern Cape !!??? you have missed out!! and have an extremely limited scope, our country is incredibly DIVERSE to the point where going to the different regions feels like going to a completely different country, food culture is different in these regions, ethnicities are different, languages spoken are different music and even ways of life are distinct. Its the same as basing your opinion of Nigeria based on lagos, ive been to Abuja and my experience and opinion on Nigeria shifted on that visit as i realized Northern Nigeria has so much to offer, the culture the food everything is quite different from the South which is popularized in the media, when you think of Nigeria you think Yoruba and Igbo's you dont necessarily think the Hausa and fulani and a whole host of other northern tribes which actually form a huge group in Nigeria. it takes time to get to know a country a few visits in one region is not enough, Africa as a whole is largely this way each country has good and not so great traits, find what resonates with you and enjoy.❤ lets not play this who is better comparison game.
as a kenyan who lived in capetown SA is really world class in infrastructure, and many amenities like schools, hospitals, airports, malls etc, because they have lots of minerals diamonds and gold, the country also contains reserves of iron ore, platinum, manganese, chromium, copper, uranium, silver, beryllium, and titanium., kenya is an agricultural country, but we have very hardworking people so i must say kenya we have tried to develop this far
@jane-j7n8t it's all white owned. All the mines and farms belong to the white. There is segregation in SA to date. There are white only cities and black only cities. Too much negativity and tension in the air.
There is no resource that can be compared to human capital ......Japan has zero natural resources to speak off ....we need to invest in science and tech ...by all means necessary
Capetown was build by cheap black labor, the money that could have build between schools, hospitals and other amenities for black during apartheid went into building western like white enclaved
You people are amazed by infrastructure but in truth Nairobi has the infrastructure for most part but just poorly maintained. I lived in Australia, Perth to be specific for 5 years, a first world country but those countries just don't have the vibe of Kenya and can't match Kenya in nightlife and the communal aspect. And with time you get lonely and bored and just wish to get home. SA conjures up images of the apartheid legacy and the race divide is so stark. You have Cape Town CBD and its suburbs and some of the worst and dangerous neighbourhoods like Khayelitsa in the same city. Sandton and Alexandra in Jo'burg etc. Also remember SA is the most unequal country in the entire world no wonder it is beset with many social problems.
@alexchui3511 I lived in SA for 3 years. My siblings have been there for over 25 years, and they enjoy being in SA. I enjoyed the country. There was plenty of clubs and partying going on in Johannesburg. I have never felt unsafe in SA as they say, even though there was talks about crime in the media. Basically, crime is in certain areas. Just like in Kenya where there's crime in the ghettos.
Anyone who had a decent standard of living in the States would not be talking about moving to another country on $1,000 a month. These are dusty dudes who really shouldn't be talking about expating
Good to see a South African passing the vibe check. A person's opinion really isn't that serious to be getting worked up like a lot of them do. Salute to you.
@@teresiawachira1034 This is not a comparison on who has more mineral deposits. It's who has the best infrastructure. Capetown is simply a world-class city. Yes we know that Kenya is mostly a service based economy, but that's besides the point Mbona tudanganyane?
Yet South Africa, with all its problems ,still tops Kenya and most African countries with the most Foreign Visitors. In life, experience things for yourself. I think you’re missing the point here. From the perspective of the European-born African diaspora, South Africa has never really been on our radar. It’s that post-colonial apartheid country way down South, where Black and white people live together but can’t stand each other. The whole vibe with the racist white ruling class makes it way less appealing for diasporas from the U.S. and Europe. Why would we go there when it’s more racist than places like Sweden or Norway? The weather isn’t great compared to more tropical African countries, and the crime rates are some of the highest in the world. For many of us with East African roots-Sudanese, Rwandans, Ethiopians-there's no real kinship with Black Bantu South Africans. We’d much rather visit or work remotely in African countries where the culture and people feel more familiar. While South Africa might suit some Black American families, most of the African diaspora from Europe have no plans of coming to S.A anytime soon. ngl Kenya got some great traction right now.

Was the a briefing given out to bash SA whilst promoting Kenya? Cant yall promote Kenya without mentioning SA. Thats like the black men praising their white girlfriends whilst bashing black women.
As a South African, I've noticed that black Americans always say there's no "African feel" here. What's that supposed to mean? Do they expect us to wear leopard clothing and sing "Hakuna Matata" the moment they touch down here?😂. Personally, I'm glad they're actually choosing Kenya.
@@TheSearchLiesWithin We don't even do that in Kenya though 😂... I think its cause there's a lot of white vs blacks still going on in SA where the wealth is by the whites while in Kenya majority of the black people are represented as well, and they also ran the show even in wealthy places. Think of 'For Kenyans by Kenyans,' to the point where we embrace the investors and its not so much an issue... Whereas in SA the locals are fighting for a spot and majority are left behind hence xenophobia. It gives the essence of the presence of a lagging 'colonization' for black people living there.
@@TheSearchLiesWithin No but you should have native attires that you feel comfortable and proud to wear . On the streets of Nigeria you will see a mix, with tons of people wearing Nigerian attires . @@TheSearchLiesWithin The thing is that you never understand unless you live outside your country and interact with other Africans with an open mind(not saying you haven't). But SA tops Kenya in terms of Infrastructure, building a career, job compensation, and overall living standards. I was in Nairobi as well in June and July. I spent less than 800 in June and over 1k in July because of a trip to the coast. I went out 6 times and had a visit to a resort in Kajiado, County(Lerruat Resort). My Airbnb was in South B, which was 385 for a month. Infrastructural wise SA definitely blows Kenya out of the water 💦 But one area where Kenya can give SA a run for its money is in reliable internet 🛜 and electricity ⚡️ Not to say SA’s internet is bad, but the frequent load shedding does have a negative effect on internet reliability! In terms of cost of living and quality of life, Kenya is definitely better! I also find our Kenyan women to be more beautiful facially compared to SAn women even though SAn women are more curvy with bigger nyash! ✌️Of course I’ve been to South Africa and as a Kenyan I know what I saw 👀 so please don’t argue here for the sake of arguing! 😊✌️

I've been to South Africa several times and also visited Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Eswatini. Each country has its good and bad taste, just like Kenya. There is no such thing as a better country . The US is not great as it wants others to believe. Crime, poverty, and prejudice are just a few negative things about the US. When people travel, they should be mindful about their spending. However, there are a few people who get wild when they get that little bit of money. Kenya and Uganda are certainly on my bucket list to see soon. My goal is to visit 30 African countries in the next 10 years. Hopefully I get that opportunity 😅. Great video.
KE and SA are not competing with each other. They've set the bar high in terms of what tourists expect. Since Ghana and Nigeria have failed to rise to their expected levels, Cote D'Ivoire is the only country in Africa that can give KE and SA a run for their money. Good job Cote D'Ivoire. Keep it up!! Shame on you G & N.
Yeah Austin definitely has a weird bias on South African. This is his second video being passive aggressive about South Africa. why are you implying South African isn't African enough? Does it need to have more dust roads, naked kids with flies and everyone wearing cheap attire to be considered African? Do you even know that South Africa is literally the lifeline of most African countries? South Africa literally feeds the majority of Africa, they export majority of the food and technology, The take in most migrants in Africa weather illegal or legal. Is that African enough for you? You pushing a weird narrative. Do better
The rest of Africa survived and even helped in the struggle when South Africa was under apartheid. South Africa is a lifeline to which African countries? What technology and what food is exported that Nigeria Egypt Morrocco and Kenya (to name a few) doesn't? Kenya has migrants too. Uganda hosts the most refugees. They just don't winge about it. They help their fellow Africans in need.

I really enjoy watching your channels Auston and Troy. What I like about you guyz is your bare knuckle openness broder perspective in your comparisons. Troy gave quite a lot of marks to South Africa...obviously based on this country being richer than Kenya. However, it is the weighting on some of the key criterion which made Kenya to edge SA. Kenyan is indeed development pretty fast and so is SA. At the end of the day, we wish both countries well...being in the same continent - MOTHERLAND AFRICA.

It matters, because they need to come home

The hustle and grind in USA and the West is so taxing so that when I come to Kenya, I’m happy to live off $1000/ month and do nothing related to making money. I gave many times more than the $1000 for my retirement but when in Kenya, I try very hard to blow off $1000/month which is hard to do no matter if you’re rich or not. Please GOOGLE: Which country in Africa has the highest crime rate? SOUTH AFRICA🇿🇦
Highest crime rate based on reliable stats you mean.
@Ola-k3h9n But nawe use your brain a little bit, crime & urbanisation go hand in hand. Even in Kenya, Nairobi ranks higher than a village.
@@TheIrieman15 Please don’t believe me Just GOOGLE it.
And half of our prisoners are migrants, wo who's committing these crimes?
@@TheIrieman15 I think you’re missing the point here.
Good content! Very insightful
My wife is from South Africa 🇿🇦 she told me the same thing, beautiful country but to much problem, that is why we can’t relocate there with my family, we have to find another Africa country.
Relocate to 🇰🇪.. you are welcome

I travelled to Kenya for 25 years as a tourist. These days i budget 10k USD for a month holiday. I used to backpacker style when young. Those days budget was around 2k USD a month. 25 years back.
I love Africa ❤❤ it like a big Atlanta
The background view though….epic😎👌
South Africa just has better roads that's it
Their public transport is good too
And better infrastructure
Actually SA has many tarmac road but roads currently are well maintain in Kenya
@@bellaolum9768Public transport gani? They have 14 seaters matatus just like here in Kenya. Also we have nganyas apart from 14 seater something they can only dream of. They have better roads and extensive road network since it is also a big country (twice the size of Kenya).
By better roads you mean national highways! Their provincial and municipal roads are dilapidated to the point where SA now ranks number 10 in Africa in road quality index! Kenya is number 8!
LOL! Glad u don’t drink alcohol a lot Troy!- since it is not healthy. Couldn’t help but notice the ever present dink in your hand. So I feel better knowing they are healthy drinks. I like hibiscus tea too; it’s tasty and helps lower blood pressure.
Another good interview Auston.
16:30 lol you also can't come to SA without going to the coast
Great insight brothers
I've been to both countries. And here's my verdict. When it comes infrastructure SA edges it mainly due to roads. Kenya isn't far behind. We are at par in most metrics like internet, electricity etc.A proper administration will close the gap.
When it comes to women it depends on your preferred aesthetics. If you are a into nyash like me the SA edges it. But Kenyan women are no scrubs and can give SAns a run for their money especially when it comes to fashion, variety, facials, etc
Kenya with zero minerals we have tried even with bad governance. Our human capital and entrepreneural spirit is what sets apart from many African countries.
South Africa 🇿🇦 is a beautiful country but let's be honest guys the crime rate there is way out of control.
Which is safest city in South Africa
So you're saying the majority of Kenyan's are not living a good life? most household's in Kenya don't make 1k a month. You can look up the numbers, who is going on dates 5 days a week? a lost man, that's who.
Thank you again for all your videos and all this valuable information!!
I made my first trip to Africa (Rwanda) last month September 2024.
My next trip will be either Kenya (thanks to you) or Ethiopia!
I would not consider Kenya with Ruto as president. He is selling that country out.
Been in SA for a while and never had any problems . I had to keep my bag in front of me the whole time walking the streets of Kenya due to the pick pockets.
Hehee 😂😂 then go live in mali help them fight jihadists useless mentslity
Good for u..Need ppl to spread out😂..Go to SA,it's great there..
We hope he's voted out in 2027.The country is heading south in a very fast pace
Cape Town SA over everything.
Which is safest city in South Africa
LOL a guy who never visited SA at all and another who never visited Cape Town telling you about SA.
Anyone making SA sound like a dangerous criminal warzone where random xenophobic attacks happen on non SA Black people is lying to you. Use the same common sense you use anywhere else and you'll be fine..
But Auston got what he wanted which is a bait tile that brings in views. I've been to Kenya well before him and more times than him and while its a great country, there are plenty as good or better.
