      About your question, No, the Genetic studies didn't point to the fact that the Kalash people were descendants of Indo-Greeks. This is a nice article on the genetic makeup of the Kalash peopl

    What were the native names of these northwestern Indian kingdoms? I see that all these kingdoms are generically referred to Indo-Greek, Indo-Parthian and Indo-Scythian kingdoms. Just like the Mauryans, Nandas and Shungas, I am sure these kingdoms must have had specific names. Do you have any idea what their names were?

    • @JayVardhanSingh
      @JayVardhanSingh  2 года назад +4

      We have terms for the different groups but not for their kingdom. So Greeks were called Yavana, Indo-Parthians were Pahlava and Indo-Scythians were Shakas.

    It's surprising that despite the Greeks/Macedonians having lived as Indo-Greeks for nearly 200 years (?) there is little to no indication of Greek DNA markers in Indians. Surly, there were marriages and relationships between the Greek soldiers and the women of that area. Are you aware of any genetic studies that might show otherwise?

    New reasearch by Vedveer Arya would place the Greek invasion 660 years earlier and the indian king at the time wasn't the mauryas, Accroding to Vedveer arya the naga kings were Alexander's contemporary.

    • @JayVardhanSingh
      @JayVardhanSingh  3 года назад +3

      I seriously doubt this research. If you are placing the Greek invasion 660 years earlier then it means we are talking about 700 BC. And in 700 BC, even Cyrus the Great didn't exist leave alone Alexander. There are overwhelming evidence to prove that the Indo-Greek came after Ashoka. Then from the western and Indian sources, it is clear that the Indo-Greek came rose in 3rd century BC.
      But still I want to see this research. Please provide a link so that I can look in to this research.

      Thank you for providing the link. I read his paper on Ashoka and there are major flaws in his research. Another thing about his papers is that his papers are self-published. There is no peer review and references are missing from his papers.

      To the top comment. You are a fraud, a delusional YUGOSLAV either from former Dardania , Paeonia or (unfortunately) Pelagonia, the last one inhabited by Epirotan folk originally. The three regions mentioned above were annexed by the kingdom. The grip on Dardania and Paeonia to the north was not that firm. After the border of the Danube and others to the north were breached , the Slavic tribes from which your folk hails from managed to enter Roman held territories, a thing lamented by chronicle writers. That migration had long lasting effects. Precisely because of it that your great grandparents knew exactly none of the ancient toponyms. Some ancient names you got through Orthodox saints and Roman emperors like Trajan, after getting Christianised. The name Macedonia was completely forgotten up north. The average Slavic peasant was clueless about the rumble around him/her , especially in western Bulgaria/ North Macedonia due to lack of classical education and the fact they were newcomers.

      @juliebubev8991 - The Bactrian and Indo Greeks were predominantly IONIAN i.e. from Athens. It's amazing that you still believe in Tito's communist history.
