Wow that was absolutely incredible! I loved it! Gavin sang beautifully! & the band was so great. All praise, glory, honor, dominion, & power unto Jesus Christ alone!!!
I loved the announcers words. He also seemed excited about the LORD and the singing and band performance! I wish more school bands would sing and play these songs! It was so incredible!
For one. Any time you sing with the band, and the band is sing which happens normality when the verse starts. The tubas should be playing soft in the back ground to support the missing bass and the band that is singing. Once you get to the high light or moment in the song the band will play loud the you get to show your gospel side and do all the runs. And it builds a power story. In this case where he is just singing loudly over every thing and doing runs that don’t fit with the notes at that time causes people to not feel what they really should. There were no dynamics at all just loud screaming. JSU HAS A GREAT SOIND THIS YEAR AND THIS WOUKD HAVE BEEN A VERY GREAT MOMENT IN HISTORY.
The reason this song touched and/or moved so many people to tears is bc he elevated that song from a halftime band performance straight to praise and worship. He didn't need to do any of the things you described or have an entire marching band to move people...people (me included) could feel the anointing God gave him through every word he sang. The imperfections are what made the performance so powerful and authentic.
