The fact that we, as guys, are looking for yuri doujins convinces me that women aren't that genre's main demographic. there just happens to be a lot more of us straight guys/gals so yuri and yaoi's more popular with the other gender because there's just so many less people that are gay or bi. I personally stopped looking at WAY less les/yuri stuff for the most part when I got into doujinshi, like I've literally only looked at one(336239) even after a year and a half because it's got top-tier art, instead of it being more than half of what I watch
@@shadi2962 A lot of BL and GL series are usually Shoujo or Josei, since Romance is their ballpark. Doujinshi can be either or for men or women, hentai for men in the most part, since not all doujin are hentai. Women like some really... weird yaoi. Some of it is 50 Shades level of just plain abuse and in some cases, just grape and Stockholm Syndrome.
I don't contest what you said about the hentai, but I just thought I'd toss that out there. Some people complain about the lack of more BL/GL series, but the issue is that there isn't a huge enough audience to justify publishing more of them. I can guarantee there are probably plenty of them online, just not in major publications or in the mainstream.
