Cutting lavender must smell lovely. This yard is turning out superb

I have some lavenders I will be cutting back quite a bit this year. Also have a Ceonothus Repens (Californian Lilac) that needs a good trim. I trained it as a ‘standard’ shape and it grows beautifully in my east-facing front garden. I always enjoy your vids Mark ❤

I've got a santolina at my home in Southern California. I prune it about the same way you did this one. It's about 35 years old, and even the oldest woody bits will sprout with new green. Same with the lavender. Clematis is a bit too fussy for my level of neglect in a coastal desert climate. I follow a couple vloggers from southern France and they both were impacted by all that rain. Yikes, that was a lot of water.
Yes the santolina seem very tough and will keep going, they just look very woody! Very similar to lavenders I guess 😄👍

When you use that scissor looking tool, why do you cut from the top down instead of just cutting the bottom? It made no sense to me, but I figured that it must be a reason behind it. You did that from about the 15:10 to 15:50 mark.
Probably because it was laying on the ground 😊👍
Your van looks pretty organised , and your work ethic is organised, a true professional, your customers must be happy that your there gardener
