What's your favorite Studio Ghibli film?
Princess of Mononoke
Porco Rosso
My neighbor Totoro
All.
All of them! love Sudio Ghibli & HBO Max!
Mostly Ghibli movies gives you small town vibes where you can enjoy nature without worrying about so many people and as an introvert I’m dying for it.
Truee.. I relate so much to this
Small town life isn’t that private
Small town isn't private. Everyone knows your business. If you live in a small town lol
cool story bro
@@Its_Jess00 they never claimed it was but go off ig
The cool thing about Studio Ghibli? If you splice clips correctly, it will look like it's all from the same movie.
Except for The Cat Returns (which looks more like a TV series), My Neighbors the Yamadas (for it's more unusual newspaper comic art style), The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (for it's watercolour ancient Japanese painting art style) and Earwig and the Witch (which is CGI).
What is Isao Takahata?
@@tegelstenen4178 The only Takahata films that resemble traditional Ghibli films are Grave of the Fireflies and Pom Poko.
@@HydraSpectre1138 Yeah that was what I said
@@HydraSpectre1138 I also love how we've all just decided to forget Only Yesterday
I’ve never realized until this video how important wind and water played in every studio ghibli film. Amazing
Yeah Miyazaki especially is super into airplanes, aircraft etc and so the love of wind etc wouldn't surprise me
In fact I think even the name Ghibli means wind in Italian or something. I've heard that somewhere before
I had not realised how similar the films looked, someone who has not seen any Ghibli films could easily think all these scenes are one movie
@S. Yes I think you're right, i've heard this as well, hence why it appears like that in Porco. I stand by what I said though, i'm sure i've also heard that Ghibli means wind in a language. I just couldn't tell you which one. I hope I haven't just made that up haha but i'm like 90% sure I heard that somewhere.
Whoever did the sound design in the movies was a master at it
You know things are rough when you have to add this to your anti-anxiety playlist

Every time I watch a Studio Ghibli film, I wish I had gone into animation.
Edit:
Just to clarify, I'm a product/industrial designer and 3D modeller and I've done some basic animations in my work, mostly for demo/promo purposes. But this kind of animations is something that I would love to learn.
You can be, you should try virtual reality
It's never too late. It's easier now then ever!

@@Dtoons still underpaid and overworked right
@@Rainydayreal_estate depends. Anime studios are usually really underpaid yes, but I dont think thats the case for a lot of western animation studios. At least i think so

i think the creator would be very happy to hear that, i recently watched a documentary on him, such an interesting man

whoever conceptualized and edited this deserves a raise, I wish there was the title of the movie in the scenes too though
Lots of it is from Howl's Moving Castle. There's also Castle in the Sky. Spirited Away (train in the water). Ponyo.
@@Theocracy8 Don't forget "My neighbor Totoro"
There's also the wind rises
There aren’t THAT many films from the studio, all well worth a watch.
I know it's definitely not the point, but the sound mixing is really tastefully done here. Somebody did a great job!
The way the sound flows seamlessly is excellent, somebody worked hard at that.
it definitely is a lot of the point -- but well noted, nonetheless

During lockdown i kept rewatching every single Ghibli film that was on Netflix, hell i've watched Ocean Waves 16 times and it's still good.
Bold of you to comment about watching Netflix on an HBO youtube channel. Respect
@@homamalzein391 lmao! thanks.
Being such a big fan of studio Ghibli, I broke down and just bought every single movie on Google Play Movies. They were on sale, and may still be, for about $18 a piece. It was a lot all in all, but it's so worth it to know that I have access to them anytime anywhere, without depending on whether a streaming service I subscribe to has them or not.
I watched almost every single Ghibli movie, took me about 1 month. I then watched Ocean Waves months later and I was genuinely just heartbroken the day after watching it. No more Ghibli films to watch 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I reckon I could watch all of them again and I would have absolutely no problem with it
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
The most underrated studio in the entire world.
No it's not.
@Moonis sad that you don’t get it’s magic mate ! God bless you
@Moonis seen those already. Modern coming of age dramas. But I guess you know that classics are gold and always superior. We’re talking about a 2 times osacar winner director here so the rest don’t even come close . They’re good films but ghibli films are on another level. Love satoshi kon’s films tho right after ghibli
wtf they've been praised everywhere. Hell, people compared them as Disney of Japan. underrated is something ghibli is not.
Check out the definition of underrated mate, Studio Ghibli is everything but "underrated".
instead of hanging paintings in my house I would dedicate the biggest wall to this masterpiece, buy a projector and project this all day long onto the wall.
Or buy Samsung Canvas TV :)
Same thoughts. But with more clips🥰
I definitely want prints of some of these shots, for example 1:06

Ma (間) (lit., "gap", "space", "pause") is the term for a specific Japanese concept of negative space. In traditional Japanese arts and culture, ma refers to the artistic interpretation of an empty space, often holding as much importance as the rest of an artwork and focusing the viewer on the intention of negative space in an art piece. - Wikipedia

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. 🥰
THE WAY THAT I CAN LOOP THIS IN THE OPTIONS. IM SO HAPPY.
I've seen some of these clips so many times I know exactly which music cues go with them
Me too!
Studio Ghibli are known for making very simple character designs and very detailed environments. That’s how they bring their world’s to life
ponyo gotta be my favorite studio ghibli movie
i've only seen ponyo
never thought i’d see this video from hbo max and i’m not mad about it
I never been that much of peace, living in ghibli makes me the happiest i have ever,,
I love how you can actually play this while studying, it gives you a calm environment, with no music, only natural sounds, I really really love this!
I have realized that whatever the environment is, the components are treated like characters with their own screen space. There are so many scenes that does not have any acting in them but just these components.
The guy who pitched this idea must be given a raise~ 👌
The ghibli movies are the only reason I'm considering getting an hbo max membership.
Studio Ghibli should be on Disney plus. More fitting.
このビデオは見る価値があります! 私はリラックスと静寂のあらゆる瞬間を楽しんできました。 ❤
Studio Ghibli movies were my childhood and i still go emotional with them :)
This is one of the most important videos ever uploaded.
I love ghibli so much, I love how it’s so relaxing to just look at. I love how it’s just a old art style, So peaceful. Everything is so beautiful about it and I will never get over any of his movies
They took this off now that it rebranded to max PLEASE PUT IT BACK
please, I hope they make a video game with all the magic of Ghibli studios... conflicts are not necessary, just exploiting and doing small tasks would suffice.
I wish there more rain scenes, they're so relaxing. Each studio ghibli movie has at 1 least rain scene, so many to choose from 🤷🏾♀️
Try Garden of Words by Makoto Shinkai
And that's the magic we all dream to experience which we hardly get in today's world. Small everyday objects, places, and even mundane things like cooking and cleaning all become magical when you see it from a Ghibli perspective.
I love every single one of them.
Including my personal favorite, Grave of the Fireflies.
I wish HBO Max would added it right now.
That one had complicated film rights, so I don't think it's technically in the traditional Ghibli catalogue. But you're right, it's one of my favorites too!
@@rachelvaupel6915 your right.
The other movie The Red Turtle is not even in the Studio Ghibli catalog nor on HBO Max too.
Can you name this movies pls
@@rachelvaupel6915Toho (the people that made the Godzilla films and Your Name.) owns the international rights to Grave of the Fireflies and not Studio Ghibli themselves, which is why it’s a bit hard to find in online streaming.
I just wish Toho and Criterion can work out a deal to stream Grave of the Fireflies on The Criterion Channel like what was done for the Showa Era Godzilla films and for some of Akira Kurosawa’s films.

HBO max knows how to play their cards. This is the greatest thing in the universe
This is so relaxing and peaceful that I didn't even realize it was a loop
There need to be more of these kinds of videos!! Originally I was looking for an anime compilation of characters just trying really hard at something with no music.
Be it extensive jogging scenes with nature sounds and rhythmic breathing, someone studying and turning pages, a mechanic working on a machine with clink and clonk sounds etc.
I think that could be really motivational and meditative at the same time
