I'm 33 now.. I'm from India.. I started using minoxidil from one month after I saw your video.. only side effect is a little bit of headache.. I'll use and I'll share my journey with you after some👍 months
Headaches are normal, just keep tabs on it. They should go away after a couple weeks. Make sure to increase your water intake as it does dry you out. Stay Strong Beard Brother!
I love your videos. I thought my beard was growing slower until I saw your videos and knew there was nothing abnormal about it. Ps you look fire with your hair. Atleast grow it out a lil more except your job says otherwise of course
Thank you so much! Yeah I got discouraged when I saw people getting a lot of progress in 3-6 months, but I think what I experience is the more usual bell curve of growth. Especially if you don't start with much.
man thank you so much for documenting. What was the castor oil you used? What was your 5-6 month like? What about 1 yr? I'm at 5-6 months and very minimal results so not sure if i should quit. thanks
I use Jamaiican Black Castor oil, it is in the description all the stuff that I have used or currently use. I have a video for every month for 2 years if you wanted to check out my channel. You will most likely not see some nice results until after 1 year. Then it starts speeding up quick.
Hey, you mentioned that you apply the castor oil right after your minoxidil. I've read that you should wait about an hour before applying the oil (for the foam version of minoxidil). Do you think it's wrong and all of the minoxidil still gets absorbed regardless? I'm just trying to maximize results and see what works or doesn't. Thanks!
I personally wait until the foam dries which takes about 10-15 minutes and go do some chores. Then I apply the oil and then lotion after. Seems to be working really well this time
Great question! My beard grew in like that, I applied higher, but it was slower to grow in than the rest of the beard. Your results will vary, depending on how your beard grows.
I've been waiting for this video for quite some time now. That's a great progress, especially for an Asian you have a great stubble! I'm also participating in no shave November, it's a first time for me. Curious where will I end up. I would say keep using minoxidil on your stache and perhaps underlip. There's totally more room for improvement, and you won't need much minox/time to only apply it there anyway.
Great progress, I’m about to start this beard journey again, I was among some of the first to try this around 10 years ago I achieved a reasonable goatee but then gave up, I’m starting again now aged 39 so not sure if it will be as effective but this time I’m going to derma roll and stay more consistent.
How long did you go for back then? I feel dermarolling is more effective as a tool than the Minoxidil, but I haven't tested only dermarolling. Stay Strong Beard Brother
@@monkybeard I done roughly about 18 months but applied only at night and I think a lot was lost due to going to bed straight after and rubbing off on pillows. Hopefully this time I can get some cheek area coverage, yours looks great I would be really happy with that. Keep bearding my now bearded brother 👊🏼
@@marineworld6335 I apply at night too and found the same. My left side was weaker for a bit because that was the pillow side. I applied a bit earlier to allow it to dry and also applied lotion which helped make a moisture barrier locking the Minoxidil in and it seemed to help a lot
I saw a lot of vellus hairs early on, but then there was a period where it felt like it stagnated for months. At 14 months in was when I felt like I had made significant progress.
Next month, I will start my Minox journey. I will also use testosteron and stop smoking. I am sure, I will surprise my students next year. Because I have a baby face.
I did the same where I went for a complete transformation of myself. Shaved my head, pierced my ears, and grew a beard. I believe you can change. Stay Strong Beard Brother 💪
I would like to start my minoxidil journey, do you recommend foam or the liquid ? And also im afraid of the side effects, what do you think about the side effects?
Same here. I'm 22 and I've been trying for about 15 months but there's no mustache yet. I will use it from 3 to 5 years. But I fear my beard will not be a full one. Hope I'm wrong
I plateaued for a bit, you can see it in my progress too. I changed up my routine and that helped a lot and now I'm back to getting gains. Stay Strong Beard Brother
I have been going for a year and I saw some improvement the first 6 -7 months, but then it has stagnated completely. Was considering to quit or not.. Maybe push a year more?
@@monkybeard first 6-8 months or so with 0.5, now with 1mm. Sleep is good, and for skin care I only wash my face daily, dermaroll noe every 2 days and add minoxidil. To experiment, I this month mixed in some biotin supplement capsules, and peppermint oil in the minoxidil. I have seen some new terminal hairs, so I will keep going👍
@@eirikstensrud Yeah the only addition I had was in my routine I added a beard balm which had peppermint oil, castor oil, and avocado oil in it. That helped my beard a lot
what would have made the time lapse better is if you had kept trimming it to a standard length of 3mm or something each day. the fact that your beard length was longer sometimes made it look like there was more area of growth and was hiding some new hair follicles. if it was same length all throughout then its easier to see new growth
That is a great suggestion and one that I contemplated doing. But then I wanted to try new methods and combinations for a few months and that broke me away from the standard. If there are times where it looks like it gets worse, it is true, it thins before it gets better. Stay Strong Beard Brother

I dermaroll in the evening, so I will still apply minoxidil in the morning and wash it off before I dermaroll. The first year was a slog, because progress is really slow. It speeds up after a year. Stay Strong Beard Brother
What I would try before giving up, is raising dermaroll to 1.5mm and adding some Jamaican Black Castor Oil after. The JBCO seems to help create the vellus hairs, the Minoxidil grows it from there. I restarted using JBCO and I am seeing a lot of new growth again.
