Great video. Bought one from you last year and I love it. I have a few questions though.
The bridge dowel I always wondered is it cherry stained black or is it ebony wood?
Was wondering if I wanted to build a 11 string Kantele but didn't use a dowel bridge are their pins one can buy to go on the other end of the zither pin instead of the dowel bridge?
Thanks for your time and help!

Ah I see thanks. Can you tell me what size the drill holes need to be relative to the pins? I've got some 5mm zither pins but i'm guessing you need a hole slightly smaller.
Looking around some people say they use this size 0.185 in/4.699 mm.

Could you tell us when it is more appropriate to use tapered pins?

    Steps 6-8 disappeared into nothing.

Steps 6-8 are very well covered in the assembly manual which you can download. I can see why there was no need for a video of these steps which cover installing the rosette, drilling of the zither pinholes and sanding.

A tip on drilling the zither pin holes (I think): If you make the ZPD which helps to tap the pins in with the 7/8" clearance, you can also drill a second hole (both are 7/32") in the other end of the ZPD and mark it DRILL (mark the other hole as PIN). Use the one marked DRILL to help keep your drill perfectly vertical when you drill the 3/16" holes. Just mark the drill bit at 2 1/8" (7/8" + 1 1/4") and drill to that point. This was a little more convenient than using my bench top drill press. Hold the ZPD up an inch or so to see where to set the point for each hole. It's a good idea to clamp the assembled zither down so it won't move when you do your drilling.
