Sure they can, "They" will not. There is no long term profit in building simple cars. Much better to build A car that breaks within 3 months of the last payment or warranty end as well as deliberately lay the car out in A way where basic maintenance like spark plugs or alternator/compressor changes are absurdly difficult and time consuming to access.

@E E What I said still applies. The Ford's engine did not have to work anywhere near as hard as the Ferraris to get A similar result.

Didn't a 63 Studebaker Avanti set like 29 land world speed records at the Salt flats in 1962? The car reached 178.5 mph.You missed that one. But the others are nice cars.

I drive on the road an 800HP (3,000HP with NOS) 1968 Jensen Interceptor with original engine. The fastest 1960’s original engined road car in the world which will be shown to the public at Goodwood this year for the first time in 39 years.

“the fastest production car in the world” upon its introduction, a 1963 Studebaker Avanti reached over 170 mph (270 km/h) with its supercharged 289-cubic-inch (4,740 cm3) R3 engine at the Bonneville Salt Flats. And I believe that the 1968 Dodge Charger would exceed 150mph.

Too many of your videos are factually incorrect - for example, the E-Type produced during the 1960s did not have the 5.3 litre V12 (this was introduced in the series 3 in 1971), and many of the accompanying clips do not show the cars you have captioned (there are plenty of real Cobra's out there, you don't need to show replicas). Unsubscribed!

What is lost in this is back then brakes were underpowered, tires were not as good as they are today, there is virtually no safety features built into the car to channel energy away from passenger cabin in the event of A crash, and very often the cars own cooling system was insufficient to actually cool the engine for long periods.
