Thanks a lot for your amazing job. I just want to know wich way you use to powered the light kit, im sure that you have find the smallest and hidden solution. thanks again
Its not so simple as with power functions, since you cannot stack the plugs in any way and both ports of the hub are used. The smallest solution would be to take off some insulation of the 2 center wires of the powered up cable of one of the motors. They should carry the power and ground. Then connect a tiny step down converter, put it on 6V and behind that put your LED power cable.
@@recklessglitch Thank you for your answer but in fact I used a micro powerbank that I manage to hide next to the engine under the car. If you want to do even better for the wiring of the light kit you have to order 50cm connection cables and after that you can't see any cables even inside. Thanks again for all you do!
Thank You so much for this video! This is my first set and planning to buy the LED kit as well the motors from your video. Is it possible to do these two upgrades in one build? Thanks again and Happy New Year!

This looks great! Thinking of trying it out, but I want to avoid dealing with constant battery swaps. Considering the BuWizz 3.0, like you used in the Delorean, for a more permanent charge solution. How easy is it to replace the powered-up hub with the BuWizz 3.0 in the Ecto-1? Also, I've got the Game of Bricks light and sound kit in mind. Already got your instructions - any thoughts on adding the BuWizz 3.0 to the Ecto-1? Cheers!
This question has been asked on rebrickable before and I actually have a buwizz (used it for the DeLorean) and it's great. Unfortunately it is one stud longer and has the sockets on top, so it would be quite difficult to build it into the same place (under the front seat bench) You would need to put it in upside down and change the base frame, to make space for the buwizz. BUT: honsestly, changing the batteries (use rechargable, also see my delorean video for the reason) is very quick. I leave the LEGO hub open, so I just pull them out and back in as I showed in this video. Besides, you dont have the problem of an internal battery going bad after some time.
@@recklessglitch Thanks for the info! I'll go with the hub and hunt for some good rechargeable batteries. Did the hub handle your lighting kit and motors, or did you need an extra power bank for the lights?

Hi, I modified my ECTO, but after the programming link on the phone, the motor on the front of the ECTO keeps rotating and cannot control the steering. The rear motor that controls the forward and backward movement can operate normally. Is there a problem with the programming part?
If it keeps rotating it means its not attached. The programming is asuming a steering mechanism and first thing it tries to find its boundaries in each direction, the steering limits. If nothing is attached that restricts the motors movement (as in son phams video) it will just spin forever. Build it in and test again please. Or block the motor manually for testing.

Hey I was looking for a way to contact you (rebrickable did not allow me to send you a message) regarding this project. If I get the suggested (Batmobile 76112) + motors what additional blocks do I need (assuming that I have only the ecto-1 + Batmobile 76112).
On rebrickable there is a tab called inventory. You can see all parts there. Plus you need a buwizz or sbrick, which is not in the inventory. But i covered all that in the Description on rebrickable, just have a look. And by the way, you can order any bricks on bricklink and other LEGO brick market places like that. Thats where i get my bricks usually.
you can plug in the sound module via usb and find some mp3 files that you can change. only the order is important so copy the sounds, listen to them and replace them as you like.
below the video in the description is the link to rebrickable. There you can find the instructions and the "inventory" a list of all bricks you need which also shows a rough calculation of what it may cost. Though usually you get it cheaper when you search on pages like bricklink. There are buttons to make bricklink shopping lists, easy peasy.
Well the ecto you get from any LEGO shop. The rest ( rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-64578/#parts ) you can order from platform s like bricklink. You can even make a bricklink "wishlist" from rebrickable.
Hey man, just curious, did you consider to use Medium Linear Motor (88008) since it does have position sensor and it should work just fine with this small technic hub? It only have 4 pin connections near the motor shaft, though. Dimensions of this motor are 4 x 6 x 3 studs. There's also a Small Angular Motor (45607), but it's still new/rare and I can't confirm if it works with technic hubs at all, even with third-party apps, such as controlz and brick controller 2.
Sure I considered it, I checked most of the current motors as drive and steering motor. The 88008 is big and white. You'd see it as steering motor in the car right away. Didn't like that idea. The L motor looks much better, since it's dark as the floor and slim. But you can use the 88008 as the drive motor. I have included some images how to fit it in instead of the M-Motor in my instructions.
I think I have found a way to make it work, dual motor driving, steering servo, roof and guns, and battery in the trunk to leave the cockpit untouched. got to wait for some ordered parts and make it work. I will post the link when I am done.
I am not sure you understood it correctly, mate, but wahtever: There is a link below the video, that goes to rebrickable. on that page look for the INVENTORY button. It will show you a list of all bricks needed including the 3 powered up devices. On the same page you can get the instructions how to actually build this.
@@scappellos Obviously you need more then 3 LEGO bricks to make the conversion: All in all about 100 LEGO parts including 2 different LEGO motors and a 1 LEGO Powered up hub. just click here for details: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-64578/ then click on inventory for the parts. The motors are included there. And yeah, it's a nice challenge, took me about a month to figure it out without destroying the car.
@@recklessglitch I'm stuck between this project and your project, this Italian guy did it with less stuff but the only problem is that pieces are taking up too much space inside, especially the position of the steering wheel, the position that you choose is just perfect if u are curious as me and I guess so, here is what he shared, only 35 bricks and 1 different engine (but indeed better yours, let's see if I can make a kinda combo) ruclips.net/video/iUUAoTCxr9s/видео.html
@@scappellos That's exactly the point of my instructions. See, anyone can put a couple of motors into a LEGO set of that size to make it drive. The difficulties is to hide it away and make it look like before. I loved the ECTO since i was a child. That's why I put a month of work into modifying it. And then another one into instructions on rebrickable and the video for you guys. And by the way, my version is about double as fast as the one in the video you mentioned. But i covered all that in the Description on rebrickable, just have a look. And by the way, you can order any bricks on bricklink and other LEGO brick market places like that. Thats where i get my bricks usually.
@@recklessglitch Thx, I got confused if that inventory is for additional bricks or only ones used in modification.
I ordered the licht without your coupon didn't know your video till then, did you use a extra sound you said to the makers of light kit?
you can plug in the sound module via usb and find some mp3 files that you can change. only the order is important so copy the sounds, listen to them and replace them as you like.
@@recklessglitch thanks for the reply, do it needs to be a specific order to call the mp3 files you mean?
@@recklessglitch also what awesome sounds or website do you recommend to download from?
Super cool! how much it costs to buy the part for build it?
below the video in the description is the link to rebrickable. There you can find the instructions and the "inventory" a list of all bricks you need which also shows a rough calculation of what it may cost. Though usually you get it cheaper when you search on pages like bricklink. There are buttons to make bricklink shopping lists, easy peasy.
Hi there, I really want to do this but I cannot find the motor you mentioned. Can I use the medium linear motor? Thanks
All parts you need, including the motor types are in the inventory on rebrickable.
@@recklessglitch thanks for this! Did you create your own app to control the motors? I’m hoping to try it out soon
Wie erhalte ich den Link zur Bauanleitung???
Der steht oben in der beschreibung direkt unter dem video.
Where can you purchase the driving and steering motors
On Bricklink or brickowl, where you buy all the additional lego parts you need.
were can i buy all the parts for teh lego ecto 1
Well the ecto you get from any LEGO shop. The rest ( rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-64578/#parts ) you can order from platform s like bricklink. You can even make a bricklink "wishlist" from rebrickable.
Hey man, just curious, did you consider to use
Medium Linear Motor (88008) since it does have position sensor and it should work just fine with this small technic hub?
The large 89 batmobile?
Yep, working on it. Still wondering how to make the cockpit open and close with a motor.
I think I have found a way to make it work, dual motor driving, steering servo, roof and guns, and battery in the trunk to leave the cockpit untouched. got to wait for some ordered parts and make it work. I will post the link when I am done.
Have finished it: ruclips.net/video/mb2n88BAh_k/видео.html you find the Instructions as usually on rebrickable
Oh-man I want to build this but I doesn't have enough money for the instruction I have only enough money for the parts or the half of it
Yeah, I know LEGO is expensive. And my instructions are by far the cheapest part of it. The Ecto alone costs 10 times more.
@@recklessglitch yea, I think I might be purchase it on Easter than
@@pleaxsy_gaming cool, go for it.
The instructions were taken down :(
Thanks for your interest.
I am working on resolving that issue.
I hope in a week or two my instructions will be available again.
Instructions are online again.
What's the cost to motorise the set?
Depends on your country and how youn get the motors. Check right here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-64578/#buy_parts
What are the parts numbers to the 3 components?
I am not sure you understood it correctly, mate, but wahtever:
There is a link below the video, that goes to rebrickable. on that page look for the INVENTORY button. It will show you a list of all bricks needed including the 3 powered up devices. On the same page you can get the instructions how to actually build this.
@@recklessglitch to let us know just the 3 part numbers we must pay you? even without the istruction? cuz sunds like a challenge mate
@@recklessglitch I'm stuck between this project and your project, this Italian guy did it with less stuff but the only problem is that pieces are taking up too much space inside, especially the position of the steering wheel, the position that you choose is just perfect
if u are curious as me and I guess so, here is what he shared, only 35 bricks and 1 different engine (but indeed better yours, let's see if I can make a kinda combo) ruclips.net/video/iUUAoTCxr9s/видео.html
Looks like you need to decide if you want a BMW or a Fiat ;-) (sorry, I am german, too obvious not to make that joke, I love the Lambo Countach too)
the lego creator DeLoreon could be motorized
If you mean the 21103, I don't like it. If you mean the rumours about 10290 that should come out this year: it is not a DeLoreon, just a pickup. But thanks, and yes, still hoping for a good delorian one day...
The DeLorean set is finally here!!!!
Do you have plans to do your magic on this set?
ruclips.net/video/W0Ynh_6tA9s/видео.html
The new LEGO 10300 delorian that gets out in April - Yes i do. Already hat a look. I think there is no steering in the original but I will figure something out. Cannot promise to keep the flipping wheels, but will see.
@@recklessglitch awesome! Will wait till you gave your magic touch!
I wish I had ,had the money to get one of these when it came out....no one loves me lol
Huh? You can still get them everywhere, and they are even cheaper now...
I have just finished the 1989 BATMOBILE (LEGO 76239) check it out: ruclips.net/video/mb2n88BAh_k/видео.html
Make the instructions for free
Sure, if you make my landlord rent me my flat for free :D но мы уже не живём в коммунизме
that sfx you use are super annoying...
which sfx do you mean? the explosions or the UFO's ? No really, what do you mean, there are none?
@@recklessglitch all the pop and thud noises. Your voice is quite in comparison.
@@radekk5820 I see what you mean, or rather hear it. Tried to keep the level more equal in my last video. Thanks for the advice.
