This is second review I have seen today for this product. I just ordered SlingTV and got the AirTV Mini free with 2 month subscription- basically, cost of device. I felt I wanted to get a feel for what I got. First review was just okay. This review is perfect! Efficient, informative, technical, detailed, comprehensive...thanks man!
I received one when i signed up for sling. After a while, the remote quit working. AirTV support ( very nice) sent a new one. After a while, the remote quit working. I figured out that I could unplug/ replug and it would work, but who wants that. I called customer service and they sent me a new remote. After a while the remote quit working. I called customer service thinking perhaps a software issue or compatibility with the tv. They talked me into another remote-3rd time is a charm. It’s in a box somewhere. I read a review that said this was an issue with airtv. Can’t remember if the review explained why. I do know that it is an issue for me. When it works, great item. When it doesn’t, it’s just something else in a box
Hello, I came across you video and thank-you, you do a very informative and learning service. I was looking to just watch my local channels like, CBS, NBC and ABC. I just bought a 50-inch Element Roku TV and I already have a sling subscription; would this be the device I would use to watch those channels, or can you recommend a device that I can use, I also wanted to make it so these channels would show up on my sling tv guide. Please keep in mind I am in my 60s and not very entertainment literate. Thank you.
Hi thanks for watching and commenting! Unfortunately, you can't use this device to watch local channels. You'll have to use the AirTV Anywhere device to see locals. I reviewed it here: ruclips.net/video/YzHr-5SIcbo/видео.html. You will need an over the air antenna to actually watch the content and I discuss setup in the same review video here: ruclips.net/video/YzHr-5SIcbo/видео.html?t=413. Here's an example from Amazon: amzn.to/3YIgQFp Hopefully this is helpful! 😁
On my tv in order to sign up I have to pay for sling. You are saying I don’t have to pay for sling so how do I go about Dom that when my TV is making me pay?
Is there a limit to the number of air tv mini's you can use with one Air TV box? For instance, if I had 4 Air minis, would I need the Air TV quad?? Or do the mins have their own built in tuners?
Thanks for the very informative AirTV Mini review!. Does the OTA capability, either through the Locast or AirTV2, show up in the Sling Guide on the Grid or Channel as another listing?
Quick question do you think that remote control can control my firetv with out using the airtv mini because it has the 2 thing that i used the most on my firetv slingtv and netflix
Why would you pay $79 for that. You know the TiVo stream 4K. That's like what 50 bucks. And it bad ass. Because there is a lot of things it does that people don't tell you it does. Like for one thing if you don't have internet it has a type c port on it so you can get a type c to USB and you can watch movies off of the USB drive. The fire TV sticks and all these other devices you can without internet the screen doesn't populate and it doesn't work.
Funny! So how are you even posting this comment? Didn't you have to log into your computer? Didn't you have to log into RUclips? --- You need to get a life....
This thing is garbo. If anyone knows a way to actually turn the thing COMPLETELY OFF, not just in a standby where it still uses my internet connection, let me know. Also, it was real nice of them to make ONE BUTTON control both the device AND my receiver. Even if I set it to ONLY control my TV it still decides to control my receiver. So it's almost impossible to turn the thing back on at times. I can set it to a different receiver brand a low and behold, a few days later its set itself to my receiver brand AGAIN. Also, turning it on and then looking at a black screen because its somehow confused and having to sit and press the home button for anything to show is also fun. This thing is a mess. There's a reason they're basically giving them away.
I watch a lot of reviewers on you tube and you Mr. take the award for most relaxed soothing experience.
😁 thanks!

So glad I stumbled on your video. Great stuff, man! I appreciate your no-nonsense approach and that it's dense ... didn't waste my time.

Signed up for two months and they are sending me one. Hopefully they finally figured out how to make a decent interface. The PQ has improved a lot
I like the Mini interface and it's very fast (at least out of the box). I don't know how it will hold up in 5 years. 😁
So the coaxial antenna cable goes to TV first?
Wow, I think your voice cured my anxiety!
😂😂
My question is this, will it work with a hdmi to compost adapter because I use a crt tv.
I don't know, sorry
Your presentation is so calming. Thank you...
Thanks for watching. 😁 Don’t forget to subscribe and share the videos. 🙏🏾
Is their a DVR feature with this

I need help! I can’t connect the remote!! I’m stuck at the very beginning!

Great question, I wish we had an answer.

I have the air TV one for locals can I use that to connect to this for access to local channels?
I think so but I haven’t tried it.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Thank you for replying. I very much appreciate that.
Can do a review new Google TV adopt for a TV?

I don’t think so but I haven’t tried it.

Excellent, useful review - thank you so much for this information!
My pleasure!
Can you use this device to access local channels on Sling TV?
Yes, as far as I can remember.
Is passtroguth true HD atmos is Dts X
Dolby Digital, I wasn't able to get TrueHD in any of my test.
So does this thing work on nonsmart TVs?
Yes as long as it has an hdmi port and your home has internet access.
Very good review, nice unit
Your voice is so crisp.
Thanks!
You remind of CJs Aquariums
The tivo stream 4k is about the same thing and way cheaper and less buggy than this device. $79 is way too much for this device.
I'm thinking the same thing about the price. Amazon's version of this is cheaper as well. From what I see it doesn't really do anything.
👌
Today it cost $40 from Amazon. But user ratings is only 3 out of 5. I’ll pass.
Why would you pay $79 for that. You know the TiVo stream 4K. That's like what 50 bucks. And it bad ass. Because there is a lot of things it does that people don't tell you it does. I just looked the TiVo stream 4K is like $36 at Best buy
Well I looked on Amazon it's $34 the TiVo stream 4K so why would you want to pay twice as much you can buy two of them for $79
Just double the price of Firestick and Roku and does the same thing!!!!
I'm against any device that requires me to have an account or sign into anything. Sorry, Sling TV is a non starter for me.
Funny! So how are you even posting this comment? Didn't you have to log into your computer? Didn't you have to log into RUclips? --- You need to get a life....
I don't know much that requires you not to.
Dang you can't get Hulu? That sucks
Sorry 😞

Why would someone buy this and FireTV is half the price and does more?
21 ounces?
