And a song that has become my recent fave since re-listening to the album after MUCH too long; "Sylvan Song/The Archer" . . . GORGEOUS beautiful track!
Have always loved this song, seen them live back in 2006, didn't see this performance until tonight, thanks to you guys. She was almost 74 years old in this performance, amazing!
I saw a few Heart shows when they were touring in support of their first two albums Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen. Very good shows. During the Little Queen tour the opening act was Climax Blues Band, also very good. Anyone remember their song Champagne And Rock And Roll Is What I’m Living On.
Wow awesome live version keeps my 40 year old teenage crush on Ann Wilson still going strong. Great reaction NicknLex y’all should add some colored highlights to your hair. I’ve got all gray highlights myself.
A huge hit when it first came out and considered a rocker, but the best thing about it is how the music matches the tremendous lyrics by Ann about an overnight sensation,a bright star in the spotlight , who has everyone excited, and how actually sad she is behind the scenes. It's a righteous song.
I bought this album in 1979 IIRC because of "Barracuda" and because, let's be honest - I was a developing young boy (15 years ole) - just look at Anne and Nancy on the cover. I still have it. Unfortunately, my musical taste wasn't mature enough back then to apreciate how awesome the other songs on this album were. Heart has so many gems like this from their early albums that were never hits but not because they didn't deserve to be.
I think most of us here are "Album" people, so almost all music reacted to here, we later or have had "Deep Cut" favorites :). There is a video here a Yt of the "Photoshoot" of the album cover, and there is this "LOOK" that Ann gives in one of the takes . . . It'll give you a heart attack! She was drop-dead devastating with that haircut style when she was younger. Yikes! ❤🔥
Just like Geddy Lee, her voice has actually deepened a bit. It’s just something that happens naturally when you get older. There were a couple of high notes in the melody that she didn’t even bother to reach. Not a dis, just realizing her limitations, however minimal. Still a fantastic voice.
Thanks for going with a live version!! If I just wanted to hear the album version I'd just go to the official site, but this keeps it fresh and interesting.
Hi Guys, Love this song. The album with the same title is wonderful. Studio version is excellent.....and for me personally, the best live version is on "California Jam" recorded in the 70's, Various Artists which features Heart. The mid section slower guitar riff is played also at the start, with an extended intro which really adds to that live version. It's on an album and on video. The California Jam also featured Mahogany Rush [ which is mind blowing, with war sound effects from the guitar doing dive bombing and spitfire machine guns - The remastered Mahogany Rush Live Album, has extra tracks which includes the California Jam set they did ] I have not see this live with Heart 2024 and it's good to see they still got it ! I remember buying their debut album "Dreamboat Annie" in the 70's and being amazed how incredible it was for a debut album. Every track is brilliant ! [ Still can't recommend enough the video, Led Zeppelin cover version > " Battle of Evermore" Heart Alive in Seattle [ 2003 ] Jaw dropping ! Byee Jim X
ProTip: Listen to the original first off the album first with the original band members - you will appreciate it better in terns of how good this band was and how remarkable these two women were at a time when they women were not treated as equal in the rock game.
They have done a reaction to a few tracks with the original members, and I purchased for them the 1st 4 albums (but skipped "Magazine", which I'll have to get them in the future). I recently sent them a link to the "Heart CBS Special" for the release of "Dog & Butterfly" :).
Was supposed to be seeing Heart on tour in the UK last July. But it was cancelled due to Ann's cancer. Hope shes recovering ok, and they get back to the UK soon?
Thank you so much as usual for a great reaction! Even more amazing was Ann soon after canceled the rest of the tour as she is battling cancer! Hope your 12 days in Boise and Puerta Vallarta are wonderful family time!😊
They've reacted to "Mistral Wind" twice! :D Once as just the track, and the other was part of someone's Marathon Reaction. My personal fave album, but re-listening to the "Little Queen" album recently is coming close :).
#nicknlexrequest Been subscribed for a while, and I'm surprised you haven't reacted to Noah Kahan yet (last name pronounced "con"). He writes lyric centered songs that touch on the difficulties of life these days and are often open to interpretation. I'd suggest starting with Growing Sideways, Orange Juice, or maybe Stick Season. Much love to you both!
That is one of the newer in concert tracks I have not seen. That was awesome! So now for your viewing pleasure . . . #nicknlexrequest Watch or do a Reaction to: "Heart- Capital Centre, October 12, 1977; Landover, Maryland" "Heart - Cal Jam II- March 18, 1978" California Jam I & II happened at Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario Calif., which used to be near where I have lived. Checkout the bands that played at both festivals! "Heart- Dog & Butterfly CBS Special 1978" which was a Promo for the new album, and was the reason I asked my parents for the album for my birthday. I still have it and 3 versions on CD. All the above with the original band. "Battle Of Evermore (Live) Heart HD" (version uploaded by "Don Jack") from Alive in Seattle 2003 doing one of my fave Led Zeppelin songs. I think this version is the best because Ann is really belting it out at the end! (as there are other times Heart has performed it :). The 1st 3 to show the original band live and the energy they had on-stage. - Thank you Stephen for sharing the video! I'll have to find the other songs they do at that show!
Little Queen - the title track to the 1977 album which also contains Barracuda.
Kick It Out is another gem off the album worth checking out.
And a song that has become my recent fave since re-listening to the album after MUCH too long; "Sylvan Song/The Archer" . . . GORGEOUS beautiful track!
Been almost 50 years and still crushin' on Nancy.
Ann is 74y old and still Kickin it out!
Try "Kick It Out."
50y Heart has been present in my life, loving it! 💜💜
48 years after this song came out and it still rocks like the first day.
Have always loved this song, seen them live back in 2006, didn't see this performance until tonight, thanks to you guys. She was almost 74 years old in this performance, amazing!
Thank you Stephen. I'm not a huge Heart aficionado so this was great to hear. I knew of the song, but had never heard it. I really enjoyed the video.
The 1st 5 albums are HIGHLY recommended Richard :).
@@mvunit3 I must dig into them!
@@richarddobson815 btw - an album with the 2nd version of the band "Passion Works" is really good too.

One of my favorite song by Heart. Still love it today!
She's probably not the singer she once was, but she covers very well. And the basic tone of her voice hasn't changed.
ORIGINAL 1977 ALBUM VERSION A MUST HEAR 🎸

While I regret never seeing Heart, I was a huge Climax Blues Band fan back in the 70’s and I did see them. And loved it. What a band!

The girls still smashing it in their 70's. Brilliant

Go down the Heart rabbit hole, you won’t regret it. 40 years of good music.
You need to do Hearts 'Magic Man' and do the original bands version....it sizzles....and you'll see what I mean by that when you listen to it.
Saw Heart, Scorpions, Judas Priest and The Joe Perry Project in July 1980 at Rockford Speedway in Rockford Il. Tickets were $13.00
A real banger tune of Heart my band used to play was, "Kick it Out". Check it out

It is always a treat listening to Ann sing. Happy New Year everyone!

Great request Stephen a very tight version of a song that takes me back to my teen age years and my monster crush on Ann Wilson
@@scottanderson8420 I was smitten too!

Heart was a great band. I'm assuming you've heard Barracuda. If you haven't, you'll want to hear Barracuda.
