Videos are getting boring now more talking and repeating the same things ever video. See more adverts than work
We will do some hand gliding and lion taming in the next episode to shake things up a bit .
Apologies for putting bricklaying on a bricklaying channel how silly of me 🫣
😆😆😆@@SteveAndAlexBuild
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Can't you teach Al to juggle the bricks while you build the wall standing on your head. Another idea to but a bit of danger into it is Al could hold that big Milwaukee brick saw in the air while you launch the blocks at the spinning blade to make the cuts. We'll either see you on Britain's got Talent, or in Casualty depending on how it goes.

You have to explane to sum of your viewers that this is brick working and there is a lot of repet work that has to be done there is no glamour in brick working that's why they call it work get it.!! You boys just crack on you're doing a wonderful job From the USA.!!
Cheers David 🤜🏽🤛🏽👍🏽🧱
Hi Steve &Alex. Steve you put the videos out when you want. It doesn’t matter when it is. Just appreciate you putting it out and all the effort you and Alex put it in to get them out. Don’t worry about the very few because 99.9% of us love what you do. Have a good week. 👍
Cheers pal 😁🧱👍🏽
Don't worry about the date when you post. It's the arm chair brickies that want to tell you how to fix what your doing wrong. can't do that if the job is already done when the video is posted.😂 Keep on doing your thing. Cheers from Texas, USA
Never a truer word said!!
🤣🤣🧱🤜🏽
I like watching the projects progressing.
Glad to hear it 😁👍🏽🧱
You put the videos out when they're done and don't keep to a set schedule, and that is TOTALLY FINE!! Keep up the good work!!🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱 😊👍
Thanks Ellis 🤜🏽🤛🏽👍🏽🧱
Lads great video, good format and who cares what date it is, i like to watch and learn keep up the good work
Thanks pal 😁🧱👍🏽
We know what you do regarding dates on Video's so take no notice we completely understand .thanks for the video
Cheers Eddie 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
A true craftsman you are. Watching the high speed, I catch you cleaning as you go and applaud the effort to always say a head of the job at hand. Really great. If I lived in England, I would hire you two in a heartbeat... and I know my Uncle Doug (God rest his sole) would too. Don't worry about the negative comments. People often forget they have choices.
I wonder if you should be doing any lion taming with that hip/knee messing you about. Stick with hang gliding. 😁😉 See you on the next video and keep up the most excellent work you do.
Love from Washington USA.
Thanks very much Garren for your very kind comment 🙏🏽😁🧱👍🏽
Another great video lads, really coming together now. Who gives a bugger about the dates, the job is the job.
Cheers Steve 🧱👍🏽
Nice work - the extension will be better built than the house! Ignore the negative reviews - it's just a sign of success unfortunately. I hope you have got a slot for that hip - every limp must hurt. (I know from experience).
Cheers Paul no appointment so far. It’s agony 😔🧱👍🏽
like the details that you do makes your work look so good
Cheers Jack 😁🧱👍🏽
Love the videos lads. The job is what you make it and watching a wall grow is as good as meditation. I really hope you get the hip fixed soon.
Thanks David , me too 😔🧱👍🏽
Contrary to an earlier comment, i am liking the extra talking and explanations as you go along, which I'm guessing is possibly in response to a constructive comment made in a recent video suggesting a few more explanations. Makes an already interesting channel even more interesting. In any case, it's your channel and your time invested in creating it, so do what works best for you and Al. I think some people neglect to realise that this is a video vlog of you earning your living - not a BBC documentary and unlike the BBC.......it's free to watch FFS so what the heck are these folks whining about? Adverts create revenue for RUclips, which pays for the platform and infrastructure to view these videos on for free. Rant over, great video as usual Steve & Al and great commentary and explanations to boot.
Thanks pal , much appreciated 😁🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Not building rocket ships , all construction work is repetitive, what makes it interesting is watching and catching the nuances that masters have learned
Thanks Kevin 😁🤜🏽🤛🏽👍🏽🧱
Just blame it on Alex since Steve doing that graft 😂 don’t worry all the regulars know your schedule 👍 😊
Exactly 😉🧱👍🏽
They just trolling you guys, ignore the haters and keep doing what you doing. Who knew you guys did brick work? Lol

Really want to become a builder after watching these videos
That’s great to hear 🧱🧱👍🏽
Hi Steve and Alex just to say that the knauf mineral wool is made from crushed volcanic rock used to use it for sound installation many moons ago

Thanks for that 😁👍🏽🧱
Don’t worry about the negative people they just moan about everything m8

Good idea with the lion taming demonstration. Id really like to see that 🦁Perhaps a day trip to Wigan pier might keep some amused for a while 😄

Well good progress, Great video Steve. Alex (the bulldozer at it again) seemed to make short work of those bricks. As you say in you video I hope you had a great break over Christmas and as it is now 12 February it is now all over bar the shouting
.Please keep safe and keep posting the content
Best regards as ever Ken
Cheers Ken we had a fantastic Christmas thanks 😍🧱👍🏽
Is there gonna be a cavity tray where the extension roof meets the house wall?
I suppose there could have been one put in for the conservatory but it is likely to be below the new roofline. I know it isn't your decision and in +20:years you have only put in a few cavity trays in such scenarios (i asked on another job). But what does the building regs say....presumably optional!
Great work btw 👍
It wasn’t mentioned and I’ve never actually done one it must knacker the structural integrity of the building taking all that brickwork out .
The house brickwork is in excellent condition 👌🏼👍🏽🧱
Love the bi weekly uploads you’re both doing a great job 💪🏻
Thanks pal 🧱👍🏽
Great job Steve and Alex really enjoyed this job keep up great work you both do 👍👍

You guys switch back and worth when laying brick - at the end could you tell by looking which bricks/blocks were laid by whom?
Enjoy the videos, never miss one. Less explaining would be good but....

wow lion taming im defo watching that 😂😂😂😂seriously guys keep going as you are doing a great job ,,,when you put cement on bricks do you make the same pattern with your trowel whatever your laying or smoother for blocks etc

You do a bit of pike fishing ,lol there gables always was when i did my training meany years ago ,😊
Love a bit of pike fishing 🎣😁🧱👍🏽
them 150mm cavity's are crazy, surely over past 20 years insulation has got better to mean cavity's could be smaller. rather than the other way around, not too much of an issue on decent size extensions but on small space ones like porches and boot rooms you'll really feel it.
Great vid as always guys.
Yeah to save about £3 a year on your heating bill 💸 🙄🧱🤣👍🏽
Apparently it is technically possible to achieve the required insulation value without going up to 150mm.
However that insulation is much more expensive, making the room smaller costs nothing (arguably cheaper as less blocks and plaster!) or the building larger at not much more cost.
I suppose there's more dig and foundation concrete for 150 cavity.
@@markdauncey927 Mark,
I have seen it easily surpassed with a total wall thickness of 190mm + external rain screen cladding.
However they also had triple glazed windows as standard. a virtually airtight construction, a M.H.V.R System for fresh air in and stale air out. And ground sourced heat pump and solar. Plus large windows on certain aspects to utilise and maximise "solar gain." and additional thickness of insulation in the floor and roof.
It is all very do-able but hideously expensive.
On traditional cavity wall construction I have seen developers building with a 300mm cavity (fully filled post building with polystrene granules in resin) But the foundation width was a whopping 840mm wide.......utter stupidity and madness...
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Chaps I have to agree - to some extent.
Ridiculous levels of insulation only can do so much. The clever bit is "airtight construction + good insulation levels" together... Which brings other issues for the house that need addressing.
At the moment the Industry & Government are just toying with the concept; i:e trying to achieve it as cheaply as possible.
In the meantime the poor customer gets shafted for the cost.

Customers always end up paying 😂😂

Heard you mention cavity closers in you commentary , when both inner and outer walls are to full height, how do you fix the closers in place. Another great video by the way 😊😊
They just push in Colin .
Thanks very much 🧱👍🏽
Lovely work lads .how you getting on for work Steve .you still getting jobs coming in .i haven't had any phone calls for anything since Xmas .good bloody job I still on this job for now

Great video boys... Alex's massive yawn at the beginning was a fitting response to the person complaining about the dates of your vlogs...!! 😂 👍🏴
🥱🥱🥱🤣🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
Noticed the cavity has not been returned from the extension to the main house. This will cause a bridge in the cavity to the full height of the extension and could cause damp in the future.
No it won’t
Didn't get in trouble with the noise police working on a Sunday then.

Steve you having hip Operation done privately??
Not unless I rob a bank first . 🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
@13:49 you start block work on top of what appear to be thin cut blocks, why have those blocks been cut like that? Is it some correction method to re establish course height when you get to the top? Please explain to non brickie
Spot on 👍🏽🧱
How does that happen though, bed size or brick/block dimension differences like metric/imperial. Surely this isn't the norm or is it?
@@SteveAndAlexBuildAlso a non brickie but learning lots from yourselves, thank you. The course of cut blocks you used as a “correction method to re-establish course height when you get to the top” I can understand but why doesn’t the stand alone pillar against the house wall have a course of cut blocks for the same reason? 🙏🏻
What’s the name of that knife you used for the insulation please mate ?
Bahco folding insulation knife 🔪🧱👍🏽
Will we be fed bacon and eggy on toast?😮
🥓🍳🥪👍🏽🧱
So let's get this straight. You get to the Builders Merchants (or the job site), before they are open and before the sun is up - (so who knows what time you guys roll out of bed!) - You then work all day in crappy weather, finish off the day's work by searchlight, drive home (however long that takes), unload/secure van, prep, clean, service equipment and re-charge batteries as required, shower, change, have dinner, sit down. And then some clown wants to know why you aren't pushing out videos the same day? Are they for real? Let's see them do a proper day's work, day after day, weekends too. Some people have absolutely no idea how long it takes to record/edit/upload video clips - Steve, Alex, don't give them the oxygen, they are not worth the effort. Keep doing what you have been doing, thank you for the videos, keep safe.
Thanks Dave, perfectly put 🥵👌🏼👍🏽🧱
You are very welcome fellas!@@SteveAndAlexBuild
