  • This personal archival video of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in g minor for Two Cellos and Strings, RV 531, Allegro, Largo, Allegro, is from a Northwest Symphony Orchestra Concert. The program was conducted by Maestro Paul Vermel on March 19, 1995 at Maine Township West High School Auditorium, Des Plaines, Illinois during the orchestra's 43rd season.
    Cello soloists were Barbara Hedlund and Karen Basrak. This concert marked the establishment and inaugural presentation of the first Paul Vermel Young Artist Fund award winner, Cellist Karen Baskrak. Established by Barbara Hedlund. the award was created to publicly acknowledge respect and appreciation for Maestro Vermel. give a career boost to a talented young artist, and help the NW Symphony Orchestra continue their efforts to enrich the community which supports it.
