My family owned several restaurants in the mall, and further back at the old amusement park. One was called The Caramel Carousel and we were responsible for the delicious scent of caramel corn wafting through the mall. While the mall was being built, I was probably 5 or 6, and my grandfather would walk me down there and plop me on my favorite horse--the sparkly purple one with the big mane and tail. He knew the men working to put it together and there's a space under the floor and horses, I'm sure just for easy access. One would be under there, unbeknownst to me , and my grandfather encouraged me to talk to the horses. I'll be darned if those horses didn't just talk right back!! Hahaha! Disappointed that there's no ghostly sightings in my story. I hadn't heard that in the many years spent there. Unless......there weren't any workers under the horses after all....?
@@jt12blk Hello. That’s wonderful to hear. Something so special doesn’t belong in storage. I’m so glad to know this beauty will be up and running soon. This will increase traffic at the Museum also! Everyone Needs to visit many museums in their lifetime! Education is key!
I lived in a houseboat in Jantzen Beach/Tomahawk Island, on the Columbia river, very close to Jantzen beach center, back in the 1970's. My friends and I would walk to the mall almost daily and would , a lot of the time, ride that very carousel. It is or was the most beautiful one I have ever seen, and probably the biggest too! I am not surprised to hear the story at all, as the Pacific Northwest is extremely haunted. Thanks for the story!!
This makes me angry. I grew up in and spent most of my life in Oregon. First the beautiful E.M.Waite memorial fountain, now the carousel. PLEASE bring back these things that made life worth living!

I’ve had some strange occurrences at jantzen beach in Portland too! It’s a long story but basically I saw a big ghost pool with a bunch of ghost swimmers inside the mall.
Well this was an interesting one! Perhaps someone should plug the motor of the carousel in. And get some psychic/medium or religious person to help the cross over? Or just go to the warehouse and see if they can get the children to move on. Worth a try. I’m willing to bet a lot of children over the years had experience with those two. I absolutely adored enchanted forest! I grew up right across the bridge from jantzen Beach so I used to love going to the mall when it was still around.
Weird World, Love your channel. Interesting Carousel ghostly children story! Ghostly Children wanted them to come and play?. Reminds me of "The Shining" movie twin girls "Hi Danny, Come and play with us!" Many fascinating stories from people Here! Thank you! ❤❤
No, but when the carousel was on the Vience beach pier in the 1920s there was a rollercoaster beside it and 2 kids, a boy and a girl , got thrown from the roller-coaster and died right near the carousel. The carousel moved to Portland shortly after the roller-coaster accident and it sounds like the kids went with it 👻👻
I rode that carousel when i was a kid and i time travel into another dimension, another kid kept going 'dont jump back to your time' but I was missing Chicken McNuggets and BBQ sauce.
My 3 year old refuses to sleep in his room. There is a man in there. We caught an eerie pic of him. Our house is 12o years old. I wish they would go away.
I rode that carosel countless times because i grew up right across the bridge from jantzen beach. The only thing that ever creeped me out was how empty the whole mall was at the end of its existence haha.
The confusion is because in England Knickers are--underpants! LOL! In 1969 , when I moved to England, I made the same error and got a big laugh from the fellow we were with when I said I liked the old style of men in 'knickers'. "Oh, really?" he asked! LOL! Then he told me why he was grinning!!Lynn in NYC
In Taiwan, there’s some kind of ceremony to help restless souls to move on toward light and onto next life. I hope these two children’s spirits can get help and to rest in peace.

How would this guy even remember this 15 years later?? There's no way I can remember some kids on a ride 15 years later no matter what they were wearing
The key to remembering something is often how much of an emotional impact on you and event had. In this case the guy says he got annoyed about the children playing in a dangerous area, so the memory was stored quite vividly. The mention of the children would then trigger his recall of it.
I don't know what those are, ghosts, another dimension, shadows from another time? My house is over 100 years old and when my son was 15 he wanted to redo his room so we gutted it and put new drywall, ceiling tiles, paint etc. When we put his stuff back in he and I were sitting on his bed admiring our work when a old toy car rolled out from under his bed! There's no way it was already there. Kids are all grown and living adult lives now but we know there's a friendly "presence" here. It's funny because there's also a "ghost" where I work and other co-workers have seen it too! Like I said though I have no idea what the explanations are.
