All Yamaha's drums have been more than acceptable for the past couple decades. I used to take an 18" older Rydeen kick to casuals where I was playing outside rather than have wear and tear on a $3000 Ayotte bass drum and it played fine. Just used quality heads and tuned carefully. I personally think this Rydeen kit would sound higher end with coated quality heads on toms. Something about uncoated that sounds cheap or plasticy to me. I usually use single ply but this kit's character may sound better with coated 2 ply. My perception of the older Rydeens was they just sounded a bit thin and lacked sustain. I never used the toms on my Rydeen bebop kit. I just harvested the kick for that singular practical reason.
damnnn this yellow looks so clean
Well tuned and we'll played. Very good groove. I'm really surprised by the sound of these kits. And the Tony Williams yellow is awesome!
Jetty Local Thank you very much! :)
