Maybe Fantasy Island could work if there was some stunt casting each week. Maybe have Katie Featherston one week, the Napoleon Dynamite guy the next could be enough to garner interest.

All the shows you mention Perry Mason's the only one that I just got really upset about I was looking forward to the third f****** season however thank you for the heads up because I would have never known without your due diligence my friend💯
The funniest thing about Fantasy Island is they already tried to revive that series back in the late '90s and it bombed then too. Even with Malcolm McDowell being Mr. Roarke in the reboot couldn't keep the show from being completely unnecessary.
Yeah but the McDowell version was absolutely atrocious. At least this one was somewhat watchable when you had an hour to spare. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't going to win any awards either
How people prefer to sit and watch a bunch of people spray tanned to the point of being Oompa-Loompas just shouting and screaming at, or sleeping around with, each other is beyond me
Couldn’t care about 9 out of 10 of those, but am absolutely gutted about Lockwood and Co. Even though I don’t normally do anything remotely scary, it was such an intriguing world with good characters, I was really looking forward to season 2. Guess I’m going to have to hunt down the books to find out more.
I think the biggest problem networks have there are so many streaming services (even for your regulars), that nobody really gets a chance to watch them by time they are cancelling a possible good show. Back in the day before streaming (everything) if it was on the 4 majors, you would have at least here’d of the show, so it got more exposure to get viewers. Unfortunately for me I’m so loss I the shows that I watched on a regular basis. My husband and I moved out to no man’s land and when we first moved out here I was able to keep up with my shows. Once they finally brought out wireless/ or without satellite (internet) my husband turned off my satellite tv. We have too many streaming services that we are now finding shows that we didn’t know about or at the time for one or another reason didn’t watch. Example I never watched Bones, because there was too many conflicts and I didn’t think I would like it. I love that show. 😮
"We live in an era where there's more TV being produced than ever before." Let me introduce you to the 90s where TV shows produced 24 episodes every season.
The draw of the original Fantasy Island (like the Love Boat) was that you got to see a group of famous celebrities from other tv shows come together in one show. Not just some random regular actors.
I really wanted the Winchesters to work but the reason the C.W. axed it is because the network was bought by someone and the first thing they did was cancel almost every show except for one or two. I'll miss Winchesters. I'll also miss the characters of Yellowstone too, especially Jaime. I don't know why but he's my favorite.
@@fpeterlaskey332 Yeah, I agree with you most people think that her treatment of him is justified but I don't. It kind of makes me mad because usually I'm on the woman's side but not this time. I think it's bad what he did but not unforgivable though. I mean she did ask him to take her and get an abortion to begin with. Then she blames Jaime for the outcome of that.
To bad about The Winchesters, I was really enjoying the show. The YELLOWSTONE, WHAT THE WHAT? NO! AH man, didn’t even know about Perry Mason?? Why did NBC cancel Magnum P.I. then another channel picked them up, they cancelled it as well, right after those two finally realised that they really cared about each other, can you tell us what happened? I loved that show and was really looking forward to seeing Magnum and Higgins getting married, etc, etc. BUMMER! Enjoyed your video, thanks. 👍🏼 Wow, it looks like they REALLY MESSED UP canceling Lockwood and Co. You’ll see just how many were really liking and watching it if you read the comments, I always like to see what others think. Tighten up out there in TV LAND!
Perry Mason was a really good show! Tatiana Maslany was excellent. I also liked Lockwood and Co. Netflix's viewing metrics do not line up with my tastes.
National Treasure Edge of History is an excellent show and deserves more seasons. Perry Mason is really good too. Lockwood and Co is also amazing and is a victim of streaming services killing shows before they have to pay too many residuals.
To me, Edge of History, I didn't watch it, but it looked like trash without Nic Cage in it, I mean, to do a National Treasure sequel show and have no Nic Cage in it is crazy, bro! And therefore it failed and got cancelled! Only two actors from original film series every made appearances in the show and reprised their roles! That sucks!
@@sandrabiscarner9587 Well, yeah, if you don't have cable, then no, you don't usually just find and find a show out of the blue, it takes a lot longer than that! But, yeah, it's upsetting that once your show, even if it's a good show, it'll still get canned if it doesn't gain traction with as many people as possible! So, it makes upset whenever I see a show that looked good but I didn't get chance to even watch yet be getting cancelled and I feel bad for the people creating because they don't get to make the decisions, so they have listen to their executives say all the time! And their could be cancelled at anytime and it's not within their control and it's kind sad, too! I completely get it! The industry is very ruthless!
Yeah, it didn't matter what ratings or viewership these CW shows were getting, they're cancelling everything over there to make room for Reality TV and Imports.
I like to watch these lists just to see if I even heard of these shows or not and this time only 4 shows here unknown to me. I did know of Lockwood & Co, and I actually thought Fantasy Island was cancelled already after not hearing anything about it post its launch
The problem with Fantasy Island is the lack of the supernatural element. Even in the 70's series, Roake had a enigmatic presence that kept you coming back. Even the 1998 reboot with Malcolm MacDowell leaned into the magical aspects of his natural. This version was like a soap opera in paradise 🎊!!!
Not really, man! They had plenty of supernatural elements and it was played pretty well, bro! They just didn't have time to use as much like the original series did! And that's the problem with most shows today vs. back in the day, is the difference in runtime! While shows nowadays have around 42-44, sometimes 45 minutes of runtime, shows back in the day on linear TV were 47-48 minutes long at times, which is insane because in syndication, they'd have to be edited to fit in more commercials! Which means reruns would have to be cut down to at 44 minutes to accommodate for the modern rerun timeslots they're given in off network syndication! So they didn't have enough time to build storylines and showcase more supernatural elements and lore, like with Elena and Javier's love storyline in the show's second season! That was the real problem! Not that it didn't have enough of it, it just didn't have enough time to show more of it!
@@taejasper1343 fantasy Island with no supernatural element making the series a soap opera on an island. Boring as fcuk, No wonder why it got cancelled. Do you understand now?
I feel like it’s another Lost tho sadly, even has some of the same show runners of Lost. Saw season 1 and 4 episodes of 2 and I completely lost interest on the mystery because no answers are given on mysteries set up in season one. I might go back if season 3 answers a lot of questions.
Just started Chapelwaite. It's a fun one. Recommend people give up for a bit in "trying to keep up" . See some of those you left behind way long ago. We don't need MORE tv😅🤷♂️
I would've loved to see more season of "The Winchesters", "True Lies", "Walker: Independence" and "Fantasy Island". I don't really mind "Physical" though. Nothing against all crew and cast, but I started watching it for Ashley Liao. And despite the season one ending implying otherwise for her character, she didn't return for season 2. So even though I'm "loyal enough" to continue watching it 'til the end, without her (or a "suitable" replacement) I don't really care. I haven't seen the others.
Out those 10 shows that were cancelled, Lockwood & Co. was the b est. I enjoyed it. The cast of characters and writing were spot on and I was looking forward to another season. Damn you Netflix!!
Lockwood is the only one of these I've heard of lol, but I don't get into TV series very easily because I don't often stick with them. I'm still pissed Midnight Gospel and Anne with an E got cancelled, tho 🤬
For Supernatural, they should’ve stuck with that back door pilot. The one with the cop lady taking care of all the misplaced youth in the show. It started with girls but they could’ve brought in some vamp kid and a werewolf kid that are always fighting but secretly besties. Target audience teens. Call it “The Winchester House for Troubled Youths” or somethin. The big stars from supernatural could’ve had guest parts every few episodes. Could’ve stuck.
For me still gutted about Willow. Felt great critically but too many old school fan boyism wanted the same thing as the film rather than a mix of old and fresh. Really enjoyed that season 1 :-/
I'm probably wrong here, but another problem Fantasy Island may have faced is having the same name as an Animated Series released in 2011by the Italian Animation Studio Mondo TV, which was a sequel to their infamous Animated Titanic films, The Legend of The Titanic (1999) and Tentacolino (2004).
The biggest problem with these new shows is their locked behind a paid subscription to watch With a extremely slow release with 6 months between seasons format. Most people I know are dumping Amazon prime , Netflix , and Disney shows because they get interested them just to have to wait forever to watch ! They just move on to something else.
The problem with Perry Mason. There are so many that led an outcry that it was too different from the original, that after 60 years it's too hard to imagine anyone but Raymond Burr. This is why Hollywood keeps going back to nostalgia and crappy remakes. Either let a show have a chance, or don't
@@lewisr7700 I get that but even just listening to the entry or reading the comment section. I stand by what the bigger issue is. Tv and movie fans whine and cry as Hollywood remakes everything under the sun. Original Perry Mason had two runs. A tv show and then two hour tv movies. But either this new interpretation strayed too far from the original and you've already lost people, no one can replace Raymond Burr and you've lost people and without giving it a chance or it's "the proof" Hollywood needs and next they'll try to remake Columbo, murder she wrote and Monk.
@@98nh3609 You understand that the Burr version wasn't the original, right? It wasn't even close to being the original, the stories started being written in the 1930's, so the new series was actually a lot closer to the period the novels were written in. This ignores the long running radio series which again predate the Burr TV series. This is like saying that Smallville was a failed idea because it strayed too far away from the original Superman series of Lois and Clark.
@@davidmurrell5143 okay so A) the original tv example in this case. b) look in the comment section. This very one. @@98nh3609 Never made any comment on the cancellation, I just corrected you about it being the original version of the character. Yes and no. If a the writers and show runners have plans and ideas that can allow a show to last longer then I'd say yes, it is cancelled. Granted, allowing a show to have an ending is better than just ending it, I'd still consider it a cancellation.
No, not really! It didn't get to end, and that means it was cancelled, unless the showrunners know to end the show when a company cancels it or lets them know ahead of time that a current season of a show will its last!
the umbrella academy is still going and that has 3 series (I live in the uk and we call seasons , series) and the 4th series is done on filming and it is still on netflix.
@@aliceramdom.s Well, the final season hasn't even released yet, bro! And yes, it's different for what people call a "season" of a TV show in every country!
Raised by wolves was another one that I thought had potential. Definitely a very strange series but I liked the whole set up they had with the two androids restarting humanity on a distant world.
I’ve only ever watched 2 of these shows. The Winchesters, I’m not surprised it got canceled. I kept watching to see if it would get better. I felt absolutely no chemistry between the 2 lead characters of John & Mary, a couple with canonical epic love story. Wasn’t until the finale that it finally made sense
I’m really disappointed at the cancellation of Perry Mason. It was really excellent storytelling
The cw basically canceled everything except for walker
@@omegagamer4124 the fact they're struggling to choose between Superman & Lois ( absolute GOAT of DC shows ) and Gotham Knights ( another Batman show without Batman that nobody asked for....only this time it comes off like Riverdale set in Gotham from what I've seen of it ) just further proves the CW is run by idiots
@@omegagamer4124 They still haven't said anything about Superman & Lois
I'd love to see Matthew Rhys as a Stark on House of The Dragon
I am surprised you didn't mention the cancellation of Disney's new Willow series as well while talking about films that had no business becoming a series. The Willow TV show was just attoricous...you can't do Willow without Val Kilmer as Madmartigan, and simply dropping his name in almost every episode just doesn't cut it.
Maybe Fantasy Island could work if there was some stunt casting each week. Maybe have Katie Featherston one week, the Napoleon Dynamite guy the next could be enough to garner interest.
pathetic cope
I knew Fantasy Island existed, but I thought it didn’t make it past it’s first season!!!
I hate when shows don't have an ending. Getting canceled abruptly is the worse. Showtime canceled Let the Right One In, a good show that stopped with no answers and a cliffhanger. Ugh!
Unless the ratings are just down right dreadful, they should give them a final season to wrap it up even if it’s lower budget or fewer episodes
@_______________ Or even like Ray Donovan. A 2 hour movie just to wrap up loose endings.
I hated when they cancelled flatbush misdemeanours. The show was hilarious but I agree about let the right one in. I watched the first season and thought it had potential for 3 seasons or so but at least give it another season even if it's just a 4-6 episode one just to wrap things up because so many shows have ended with cliffhangers and it's annoying to the viewer

There are more TV shows than people can watch
I don’t think the idea is that we watch everything 😂
I don't watch commercial TV anymore. I prefer reruns of shows that I enjoyed over the years before the writing went into the garbage.
And most don't have the subscriptions to the content providers .
All the shows you mention Perry Mason's the only one that I just got really upset about I was looking forward to the third f****** season however thank you for the heads up because I would have never known without your due diligence my friend💯
Lockwood and Co was actually a really good show. This is why I usually wait until there's at least a second season. Fantasy Isaland was pretty good.
Next video, all the crap "reality" shows that are still on because they only cost a fraction of what scripted TV shows cost.
"We live in an era where there's more TV being produced than ever before."
Let me introduce you to the 90s where TV shows produced 24 episodes every season.
We live in an era where we expect movie-quality TV events at the click of a button. This is not sustainable.
I'm really bummed about Lockwood & Co. If it had half of the promotion Wednesday had, it would still be around.
The draw of the original Fantasy Island (like the Love Boat) was that you got to see a group of famous celebrities from other tv shows come together in one show. Not just some random regular actors.
"The Love Boat" was where actors on the down side of their careers would show up.
You know that this wasn't even the first revival of Fantasy Island in TV series form? There was the ABC 2000s show with Malcolm McDowell as Mr. Roark.
I feel bad for Jaime in every episode of Yellowstone. Beth is an absolutely horrible person and her treatment of Jaime is despicable.
@@fpeterlaskey332
Yeah, I agree with you most people think that her treatment of him is justified but I don't.
I am also sad about Lockwood & Co., but I think that I'm even sadder about Fantasy Island...I liked that Franchise, and the latest did it justice...
That sucks!

@@aliceramdom.s Yep, it is!
Thank you that’s what I’m saying. You can’t even find a tv guide that tells you what’s on, you usually find it by chance or word of mouth.
I really liked Perry Mason. I loved the original Perry Mason but I was so looking forward to season 3.
I would make it a Law if I could, that any cancelled show has to get every loose end tied up and a proper ending.
Yeah, it didn't matter what ratings or viewership these CW shows were getting, they're cancelling everything over there to make room for Reality TV and Imports.
I thought Lockwood & Co had a great tone, great performances and was perfect for the YA audience. REALLY shame it isnt getting renewed.
We wanted NT 3 book of secrets damnit. We still need to know what's on that page in the president's book!
I like to watch these lists just to see if I even heard of these shows or not and this time only 4 shows here unknown to me. I did know of Lockwood & Co, and I actually thought Fantasy Island was cancelled already after not hearing anything about it post its launch
I enjoyed the reboot of Fantasy Island. The problem was it wasn’t on week after week so people forgot it was on
The problem with Fantasy Island is the lack of the supernatural element.
Dude that would boring af, no wonder why it failed.
@@trublack What do you mean? What are you talking about? I have no idea what you're talking about, man!
@@taejasper1343 fantasy Island with no supernatural element making the series a soap opera on an island.

The Fantasy Island reboot was exceptional. It should not have been cancelled!
I started watching a really interesting TV series: From , I highly recommend it, they are already planning to make a third series
Another show that was fantastic HBO cancelled, Perry Mason. The first show HBO cancelled I loved was Carnivale.
PERRY MASON...Such a beautiful show, well written, great sets, great acting, just a damn great show.😢
Perry Mason was great not surprised that it was canceled a little disappointed though 😢
Out those 10 shows that were cancelled, Lockwood & Co. was the b est. I enjoyed it. The cast of characters and writing were spot on and I was looking forward to another season. Damn you Netflix!!
The Winchesters should not be cancelled
I actually really liked Fantasy Island.🤨. The Winchester’s wasn’t working. Never watched Yellowstone, loved 1883 and 1923!
really sad about perry mason. loved the detective noir style
Lockwood is the only one of these I've heard of lol, but I don't get into TV series very easily because I don't often stick with them. I'm still pissed Midnight Gospel and Anne with an E got cancelled, tho 🤬
Still can't believe they cancelled. My name is Earl smh
Roadhouse
The CW making crazy budget cuts lmfao
I have never heard or watched even one show he described here
Perry Mason was a solid show. Mathew Rys is a very good actor
Lockwood and co. Is sooooo good I 100% recommend watching it.
Problem with Winchesters, too much focus on relationships, and too much explaining. Everything got explained.
Gutted about Lockwood & Co! Great show...real promise
Good reviews means nothing if ' we the people ' don't watch. Lots of agenda involved. Haven't watch regular tv in years lol they don't want my money:)
Walker independence was great!
The biggest problem with these new shows is their locked behind a paid subscription to watch
With a extremely slow release with 6 months between seasons format. Most people I know are dumping Amazon prime , Netflix , and Disney shows because they get interested them just to have to wait forever to watch ! They just move on to something else.
I’m happy Physical is getting a chance to tell a complete story
The title of the video should be ' 10 TV shows you didn't know existed' .
I loved Perry Mason… I liked the whole cast. It honored the shows, the books, and it loved the characters.
I was enjoying Fantasy Island, so bummed it got canceled :^(
Agree
I will miss Lockwood & co
The problem with Perry Mason. There are so many that led an outcry that it was too different from the original, that after 60 years it's too hard to imagine anyone but Raymond Burr. This is why Hollywood keeps going back to nostalgia and crappy remakes. Either let a show have a chance, or don't
The problem was that the show just wasn’t that good in the second season.
You will find at least one it's hard to compare to Burr comment C) if you think I'm blaming the cancellation on the differences and not trying to point out the issue in Hollywood then I don't know how to help
@@98nh3609 Never made any comment on the cancellation, I just corrected you about it being the original version of the character. As for the Burr version, well I never watched it because I was born 8 years after his original version stopped, was a bit too young to watch the Markham series and serious I had better things to do than watch a rehashed series of TV movies even my, now 78 year old, mother thought were old fashioned and a sign that TV channels couldn't come up with new ideas. I'll take your word it was fantastic, granddad.
I'll definitely miss Walker Independence and The Winchesters...and I swear to Rao CW better not cancel Superman & Lois
