There’s no evidence for Denver being elite as a team that you can’t also provide for Memphis. Yes they’ve been awful against the West but they still sit 2nd in the West as we speak.

The grizzlies are not elite. Their ceiling is the 2nd round. Are they great? Yes. Elite? No. The mavs have shown to be elite solely due to that man Luka doncic, Joel is correct.
@@sydoesgames Usually that is the case, but Luka is the exception to that rule. He makes them elite. Same with Bron in 2018, MJ in 89’.

Definitely agree, n would go a step further in saying Dallas could definitely beat Denver. Sure I wouldn’t favour them, but I think there’s a good chance they could. A starting 5 of Doncic, Kyrie, Green, Wood and Powell is kinda tough with a bench of Hardaway Jr, McGee, Bullock, that new Hardy kid, Kleber etc is also not bad options. Heard they might get another guard or something that have been released, hearing that a lot from Mavs fans (a John Wall type). I would favour them against every team apart from the Nuggs n it’d be 50/50 with the Suns. All these other teams just don’t have nearly as good stars or co stars to compete with Dallas, n there depth isn’t amazing either or that much better then Dallas

@@woke49 Luka alone solo squadded number 1 seed Phoenix Suns last year. Now with a 27ppg efficient scorer in Kyrie (all star starter) n 19ppg efficient scorer in Christian Wood they definitely have a chance

@@woke49 they didn’t really. They balled in the Utah series, Luka carried them throughout the whole Suns series. Plus since then Josh Green has gone up a level, they added more guys in Javale McGee, Christian Wood n Jaden Hardy. McGee being a decent rim protector, Wood being an efficient volume scorer and Jaden Hardy who’s shown a lot of promise. I presume they r gonna add a 3rd hall handler out of Bev, Nunn, Wall n Russ also. Or one of those guys who r gonna get bought out. Oh yea n they got in KYRIE IRVING.
I definitely think they have made big strides since that Suns series, Jalen Brunson whilst he was good at the Mavs n a solid number 2/3 he’s clearly better as a number 1 ball handler. Dinwiddie again a good efficient shooter but again he’s no Kyrie Irving, n again I forgot to mention they didn’t have Hardaway Jr that whole series who’s also a solid scorer n puts up similar stat lines to Dinwiddie (although not the same level of ball handler). As said McGee is another option along with Powell for rim protection (unless they bring in another big man) n whilst DFS is a big loss defensively the Mavs are much better offensively now n they got guys like Green, Powell n even Christian Wood who have all improved defensively. Even Luka has gotten better this year defensively IMO.
I definitely take them over the Grizzlies, n the Nugs as I said I’d back the Nugs. But i definitely would say it’s a tight series

Now that the Durant trade has happened, I'm taking Memphis, GSW, LAC, and PHX all over the Mavs in a 7-game series given that everyone is healthy. I'd probably take the Mavs over the Kings as well, however that could be a really tight series because the Kings aren't just a walkover team anymore
We all know why Joel doesn’t like the Grizzlies, same reason he doesn’t like certain types of QBs, very questionable the way he speaks on things

I swear so many ppl overrate teams who haven’t done shit, Mavs, Grizzlies and Nuggets have never even been that close to a Finals. 2 of them have made it to the conference finals once but they lost pretty convincingly. Suns are hard to judge since they just made such a drastic change and they did make the finals in 2021 and made it a pretty close series

Rare W from Joel, Grizzlies need another star scorer besides Ja or Bane, Ja is a star and Bane is awesome but they have no 3 level superstar scorer. JJJ is the best player on the team til Ja shows he can either give a damn on defense or that he can be an elite floor spacer
JJJ needs to improve offensively and he fouls out too much in the playoffs
terrible take. JJJ is too foul prone, and too inconsistent on offense to be number 1. Ja is a top 13 player in basketball. JJJ might not even be top 20-25 on a nightly basis.
@@juhkobee i typically value great offensive players over great defensive players but being small and not giving enough effort on defense is too detrimental to a teams playoff chances. JJJ’s foul problems are an issue in the playoffs as well but I think his overall impact is greater than Ja’s when you account for both of their flawed player profiles. The Grizzlies literally were the worst defense in the league before JJJ came back and are arguably now the best defense in the league, while I rarely see their level of play drop off with Ja out of the lineup.
